This cartoon sucks. Only good thing about it is the opening (funny thing, in all X-men cartoons opening are awesome, even 1989) and when i watched it again after some time, i suddenly found out that there was Ice man in a cartoon. And i don't remember a single episode with him more than a 3-4 minutes or cool line. As for Kitty. Cyclops at least defeated all Marauders alone. And many people doesn't like his coat, but my god, look what they have done with Rogue, even her voice sucks.
...His design in this show looks like he just stepped out of the matrix, lol.
And to agree with the top comment, I really can't stand Scott; I find him whiney, and to angsty sometimes... But he is a good leader, and the X-Men just aren't the same without him. Wolverine is just the leader type. Plus, he kind of sucks at it. If anyone's the real leader in this show, I'd say it was Emma Frost, lol.

A fun thing is I enjoyed Wolverine because it is the one that delivered the most Cyclopian Cyclops out of the four movies really in that hallway he did more than in the other three movies together.
For those of you complaining about Cyclop's death, keep in mind that January Jones ( who's Emma Frost in First Class) said that she is on contract for two more films to take place before X1.
You know what that means? More Cyclops and no Wolverine to get in his way!
AND Laura Shuler Donner said that they do plan to continue after X3 with an X4, and if they go with the plot of having Emma Frost show up like they originally did, she may end up using her powers to bring Scott and Prof. X back!

They should forget about the Origins gambit and give him a spot in X4 too.

You know this commercial was misleading? Xavier says they can't save the world without Cyclops, yet Cyclops was so poorly written & underdeveloped that ultimately he never really contributed to the overall storyline. Seriously, they could've stuck a 6-foot rubber carrot in his place & the outcome would've been pretty much the same. Poor guy would have been better off if they'd just stuck him on a bus to California & never mentioned him again. Nolan North must be glad to be free of this show.

I was watching the DVD commentary for X-Men 3 today, and in it the writers said "there are people who believe we should have given Scott more of a tribute in this movie..." and Ratner cut them off saying "Yeah, but those are just fans of Scott." I really wanted to tear his head off at that point. Shows how much he really does not understand or respect the character. And its not just Cyclops fans who were disapointed, but anyone whoes a true fucking X-Men fan!

Well, Logan has always had an unrequited attraction for Jean but she's in love with Cyclops and in the comics books, Cyclops is the one who's arms Jean dies in, not Wolverine. The filmmakers of The Last Stand basically took Cyclops' role in the Dark Phoenix Saga and gave it to Wolverine for whatever reason.

Marvel take a character thats popular and market them like mad, this makes sense from a business stand point but can backfire like it is doing now. Actually, loners can be very good leaders. History has shown a great many leaders who were loners by nature. Case and point: Dwight D. Eisenhower. People always classify a "Leader" as somebody everybody likes and respects. Well do you know what garnishes respect? Results, cunning, intuition, and experience. ANYBODY who thinks Cyclops ever had any of those things doesn't know the first thing about leadership. Cyclops is just another one of Marvels failed attempts at marking out a star hero.
Actually, its pretty interesting that Wolverine is now the leader and Scott is now the loner. Wolverine now gets to be in charge and take responsibility. And Cyclops gets to be the badass loner. Those two seem to have switched roles.
Except Cyclops doesn't work as a 'badass loner', mostly because he doesn't have the same luck in the role that Wolverine has. Cyclops tried to be bad ass in "excessive force" and it ultimately blew up in his face.
And don't get me started on episode 20, "Breakdown". So much for Cyclops being the confident leader of the X-Men.
the show doesnt necesarily revolve around him, some episodes he's not even the main center point, its just that his attitude is wats gonna keep the distraught X-Men in place to keep the future a good one
The show kicks ass, granted it can be a tad confusing, but its got perfect suspense, character development, and good story lines! It's darker than the previous series which is why I like it! =D I like this kind of variety

Cyclops isn't a bad guy. He gave up everything when Jean was thought to be dead, and Storm was back in Africa, so the mantle fell to Wolverine.

He's in half the series and the finale focussed more on him, Jean, Emma and the Phenox Force then it was about Wolverine
He went into depression at first after jean vanished and rejects the offer to come back at the start after the X-men disabanded after she was gone.

Wolverine should be the lone wolf man. He was supposed to be the vigilante that will do the dirty work when no one else would. He should takeoff without warning, travel to hongkong kick major gangster/supervillain ass then comeback and act like he was on holiday. Why on earth have marvel turned him into the team nanny. Badass cyclops is cool but should still be leader. Also we need more storm and why doesn't rogue get enough camera time?

Well, Logan has always had an unrequited attraction for Jean but she's in love with Cyclops and in the comics books, Cyclops is the one who's arms Jean dies in, not Wolverine. The filmmakers of The Last Stand basically took Cyclops' role in the Dark Phoenix Saga and gave it to Wolverine for whatever reason.

Also, keep in mind, the mystery is what makes the man, Wolverines strong point was always that dark, beastly and wild edge he had. Over exposure which marvel are doing in excess leads to bad scripts, numerous chaotic stories and worse character saturation. Most of my buddies who like other X-men have turned anti-wolverine.He is frequently billed as Overrated by most fanclubs, this is so annoying. Marvel are taking a good character and trying to make him more populist. I H8 them.

Continuing on, Wolverine was always the one people like Peter, Rogue, Kitty, Gambit, Bobby, Piotr, and Jubiliee looked too. That makes him a leader. Nobody went to Cyclops. Okay so Cyclops finally gets some popularity after sixty years since the comic's creation. Does that not tell you something? Nobody cares or relates to Cyclops and most perceive him as a whinny man-child. Don't get me wrong, my favorite has always been Iceman, but Logan is X-Men. Also you can't satisfy everyone so why try?

Dude, i think you are confused. I am a Wolverine fan, he is my favorite character. Marvel have changed him dramatically the past few years, he is not as aggressive as in previous years. Marvel take a character thats popular and market them like mad, this makes sense from a business stand point but can backfire like it is doing now. I mean come on, you can't tell me you are a wolverine fan and not have noticed the subtle changes they have made to his persona all in the name of fan appeal.

Of course I've noticed, but as a business man myself I can see that while some are upset about it the majority is for it. Do you know how many people around the internet world were tired of his character coming in and going out over and over again? Millions. It's just like Batman and how they wrote him, it's not realistic or in the best interest of the character to make him be alone with nobody with him always. People can CLAIM they are like that but they are lying.

Maybe he is being over-used. But do you know why? It's because all the rest of the male X-Men either don't separate themselves from the rest or are one-trick ponies who, let's face it, are lame and generally holding back the rest mutants. Take Cyclops for example. Throughout the entire X-Men story Cyclops was the leader, but guess what? Nobody cared and he as a piss poor leader. Cyclops is like Captain America, in that nobody gives a damn about them and never will. So why should he be leader?

I understand what you are saying, but at the end of the day that is all the fault of the writers. Just look at deadpool, his only ability is to heal and yet he is soooo popular right now and getting a major push. I like the wild loner wolverine who gets ticked off flies over to alaska and massacres some supervillains then comes back acting like nothing ever happened. As for Cyclops, his popularity has risen significantly recently he actually won the peoples favorite X-men in the recent IGN poll.

He's much more popular than Superman because people relate to him. It's okay if you don't like Wolverine Laranzava but the simple truth is that he's always been a leader. "Right now" is the two words you have to realize. "Right now" means after almost 70 years he's popular. That show have monumentally shitty his character is. Leader of all the mutants? Hardly. He was only the leader of the X-Men and if all the comics, cartoons, and such have any say he did a pretty shitty job at it. That's why they took the command away from him and no matter how much Cyclops fans whine about it he's not getting it back.

Actually, loners can be very good leaders. History has shown a great many leaders who were loners by nature. Case and point: Dwight D. Eisenhower. People always classify a "Leader" as somebody everybody likes and respects. Well do you know what garnishes respect? Results, cunning, intuition, and experience. ANYBODY who thinks Cyclops ever had any of those things doesn't know the first thing about leadership. Cyclops is just another one of Marvels failed attempts at marking out a star hero.

Actually, its pretty interesting that Wolverine is now the leader and Scott is now the loner. Wolverine now gets to be in charge and take responsibility. And Cyclops gets to be the badass loner. Those two seem to have switched roles.

Except Cyclops doesn't work as a 'badass loner', mostly because he doesn't have the same luck in the role that Wolverine has. Cyclops tried to be bad ass in "excessive force" and it ultimately blew up in his face.
And don't get me started on episode 20, "Breakdown". So much for Cyclops being the confident leader of the X-Men.

The show kicks ass, granted it can be a tad confusing, but its got perfect suspense, character development, and good story lines! It's darker than the previous series which is why I like it! =D I like this kind of variety
