1:30 - 1:35 one question: how do you do that with your voice? I aspire to be a metal vocalist but find trouble with adding that grit. When I find a sound that kind of sounds good, my voice hurts. Perhaps I am misusing my diaphragm. Anything you recommend? By the way I am 17 as I am sure that plays a role in my vocal development. If you didn't pick up on it, YOU SOUND ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!

I have been singing metal since I was 13 but I can tell you when I was 13 I had almost no control of my high pitch it was always hit or miss...and it sounded way too light...it wasn't till I was around 18 that after much trial and error I was able to do the grit naturally without even so much as a hint of hurting. However, that diaphragm yes it's very important that you use that mofo to the max it's the difference between metal and failure.
