The FBI admitted they never had hard evidence to directly connect Bin Laden to the 9/11 attacks, yet he wouldn't need to be directly involved. He was already wanted throughout the world for a number of other attacks so his personal involvement to 9/11 might have led US forces to the perpetrators. I'm not saying thermal expansion can't harm buildings.
I'm inquiring as to why we're getting a theory and no verification.
Here are some reasons to verify:
-future and current building safety and design
-transparency of the investigation into the predicating event of our global posture
-it's a fundamental step in science
-it would make it so no one had to pay people like you to pimp NIST's report
-it would foster trust in the truthfulness of our government (don't you wish people'd stop asking?)

The FEMA ASCE BPAT examined the steel of WTC5 and found connection failures due to thermal expansion.
NIST is far more knowledgeable in thermal expansion than you and knows at what temperatures it occurs and can certainly model it accurately and did.

If NIST didn't have the 'credentials', the inadmissibility clauses passed by our elected representatives in Congress wouldn't be necessary for providing them with protection from subpoenas in civil actions, preventing them from doing their government jobs since they'd be tied up so much having to appear in court as witnesses in civil actions thus undermining their work for the govt. and the taxpayers.
Same goes for NTSB.

With that said. Firefighters did make references to explosions. Maybe not necessarily at that exact time. But explosions were heard. And some were caught on audio.
And don't give me that crap about stuff falling. Because we all know dam good and well, a firefighter and many other people can tell the difference between something falling and an explosion.

interesting that NIST says damage from towers had nothing to do with 7's collapse... "explosions" is you (and Sunder) trying to reframe the question. Cuts do not require explosions. Demolition industry can control noise level. Could the collapse have resulted as observed if we assumed intentional demolition? Of course. Could it have been thermal expansion? I hear you saying so, but I don't see any experimental verification. Even UL's tests on TOWER floors couldn't make them collapse...

It's a proof of concept for full scale production with limited production capability.
Dr. Puszyinski didn't have full scale production capability to produce tons of nano-thermite that Marvin Bush needed in early 2000 to get those kilotons of nanothermite planted to meet his June 2000 termination date with Securacom, even though Securacom was fired from the WTC in 1998.
