I never understood the plot to this game, since I was in my early teens when I played it, but watching it now, holy shit. The Patriots/la le lu li lo really ARE the bad guys, and Solidus just wants to free everyone and give the power back to the people. /mindblown

All these years since I first played the game and I didn't even learn until recently that the man who voiced Ames was also Splinter in the original Ninja Turtles (and more recently Duncan in Dragon Age: Origins).
