  • Wow! The comments section of this video would be an excellent case study in successful internet trolling for a graduate psychology student somewhere. Amazing how 90% of the comments on this video seem to have come from a troll and several Jackie defenders who have repeatedly swallowed the troll's bait hook, line and sinker.

I think Jackie deserves better, and perhaps a better way to defend her is to ignore the troll and vote down the troll's comments instead of responding to them ad nauseam..

  • musiknya kayak lagunya Broken Vow yak???

  • @mariskatria Musik yang sama ... berbeda kata-kata. Ditulis ulang oleh Lara Fabian untuk Jackie.

  • What Jackie does is pretty superhuman until of course the would-be little choir girls from the conservatories make an appearance on TY. I've listened to OMF and OMBC from several great opera singers. Their versions pale in comparison to Jackie's.

  • EIGHT FREAKS DISLIKE...............

  • @bruceh7211 I agree. I've suggested she do "Subaru" a Japanese song much revered. You can hear it on YT. Great song and Jackie would most likely create a sensation singing it!

  • @tube7562 I've heard that, and it's a beautiful, appropriate song for her. She's already huge over there. Two trips so far, and another probably in 2013, since no foreign countries are planned for 2012. Seems from her tweets that Indonesia really wants her there, too. Plus Mars and Venus.

  • Recent tweet from Jackie states she does not understand the meaning of every word in her songs (sung in a foreign languages). But she understands the story behind the words and interprets that in her own way. IMHO she ranks amongst the best for that considering that she does not know the meaning of every word.

  • @tube7562 She's said she'd like to learn Spanish, Italian &Japanese. And with her high intelligence & how quickly she learns songs & produces an album in record time, I'm sure she'd also learn foreign languages quickly. Lisa explains the lyrics & meaning of each song to her before she performs it, plus she has native speakers to help her with her pronunciation. Native Italians have complimented her on her pronunciation in her Italian arias. Next Japan visit, bet she does a song in Japanese.

  • @zamyrabyrd, There I thought we were having a serious discussion. You don't really think that a collection would generate the funds to cover the cost of a major voice couch?

  • @tube7562 Her mother is her full time coach at present, the coach proved by Sonny was only for a short period. Her training will start after puberty according to her family. Deanna Durbin was the first CC artist repeatedly turning down offers to sing with the Met and staying with light classical and even popular music. Since they are both lyric sopranos, Jackie at age 11 compares extremely well with Ms Durbin at 13.

  • Getting a coach would ruin her talent. She doesn't need a coach for at least another 2 to 3 years.

  • @tube7562 First of all she DOES have at least one coach (who told her she can banish stage fright by the "penguin walk"). A conventional singing teacher most probably would shift the focus of the voice to higher and lighter production. But it's fairly obvious the family made a choice to use this particular crossover timbre which is attractive in its own right. However she probably could outdo Durbin and even Julie Andrews at the same age, if they chose differently. But it's really their lookout.

  • @zamyrabyrd Kavic1234 is right. According to Jackie's Mom, Jackie does not have a regular coach but will sometimes get a coach during a major concert. Her Mom has done most of the coaching and that is very limited as well and it is aimed at protecting her voice. Much of what Jackie does is self taught. Eventually, additional training will only enhance and provide longevity to what is already a phenomenal voice.

  • @zamyrabyrd In a recent response to a tweet, Jackie said she's done the Penquin Waddle ONCE and that was on AGT. Interviewers like her to do it because it makes for good TV; however, has admitted to getting butterflies before going on stage. Someone tweeted her about how she deals with stage fright. She replied she's never had it. She loves being on stage, performing, making people happy and hearing the applause. I believe it was HotRodder who said she has nerves of steel. That she does!

  • @zamrabyrd, We now seem to be in agreement. The one thing different between Ms Durbin and Ms Evancho is, who is to covers the cost of training. MGM footed the bill for Ms Durbin, providing a coach from the Met to work with her over a number of years. Ms Evancho's training will have to come out of her own pocket. No great coaches living in Pittsburgh.. She will have to bring one to her. Not a small cost. So she will need to perform to be able to afford the training.

  • @kavic1234 Why don't we all take a collection?

  • Ms Durbin's first know recording was when she was 13, but already under contract when she was 11 to MGM. So she had been singing since she was younger than Ms Evancho. I believe that Ms Durbin sang Nessun Dorma when she was 16. Most of Ms Durbin's work when she was 13, is on YouTube from the Eddie Cantor show. She sang mostly light opera the same as Ms Evancho. It would seem that your argument is not about her voice but when she starts formal training. She can do that and still have a career.

  • @kavic1234 No argument, but the issue of vocal technique, in other words the WAY the songs are done. Crossover was not really practiced back then, at least not below a certain age. But this is an area for experts, not fans, as passionate and defensive as they may be. And, this group is not composed of teenagers or women as might be expected but protracted adolescent guys who didn't grow out of fan idolatry and are downright obsessive in their relentless pursuit of those who disagree with them.

  • @zanyrabyrd

I happen to enjoy both Deanna Durbin and Jackie Evancho. So what? To me they are the best female voices I have heard. Its the voice I enjoy. One is now 90 the other soon to be twelve, there age has no relevance. My question to you is what are you trying to prove, or are you just here to start arguments?

  • @kavic1234 You called? Want to start an argument? Deanna Durbin was not thrust upon the stage before she was ready. It's is also VERY disputable that J's technique has improved in 2 years according to mr tube. She should actually be singing the high and light repertoire of Durbin, not struggling with popera versions of Ombra Mai Fu, O Mio Babbino or Nessun Dorma. Her notes would float at least as high or higher than Durbin. Oh, but that would mean stopping the career & going to a proper teacher.

  • @Laundis You're right. I have no desire to pick on someone needlessly. I'll stop commenting on this matter.

  • @tube7562 Thanks for your understanding and forebearance.

  • @Zamyrabyrd When you see 100,000 plus marching to the right and you alone are marching to the left, you turn and start shouting that the rest are going in the wrong direction. A sane person would stop and wonder if maybe it was themselves going in the wrong direction. Could it be possible its not who is right or wrong that concerns you but you just enjoy the argument.

  • this is in any ones book a world class performance add to this the age of this child and its even more astounding in every way

  • i do willy love this song so match and i love jackie evancho toooooooooooooooooo because shi is a little angel and this is sam thin i don t watchet every day for my is heavean

  • I really enjoy this little angel!

  • The most amazing talent I have seen in my life!

  • FANTASTIQUE y'all!

  • MAGNIFIQUE ya'all!

  • can someone give me the lyrics because the lyrics i'm searching for was i think kind a wrong she did not say anything on my lyrics

  • @imALYReMulla What you want is not easy to find. Lara Fabian rewrote her song called "Broken Vow" expressly for Jackie and the new work is called "Imaginer". It is easy to find the words in French... English is tough to come by. If you put "Jackie Evancho Imaginer Lyrics" into Google and pick Jackie's forum..near the top of results, a fan translates into English. It'll be near the top of the page. Imaginer is about a better world..Broken Vow is love gone wrong. Hope this helps.

  • You see, it is irregular singing like that from one day to other, or at all ! She picks me up as a tornado. Unusual. On the mentioned video she is full of earth and metal elements. Strong lines and voices. In a short time she becomes areal, vurnerable. Loosing lines, strong eyebrows, lipps, all and kind of : 'the songs are singing her'.

Someone said :With the Father anything possible. Yes, but they claim Father has foes, not of the 5th leage. Our duty is to make sure. Starting with Santa Claus

  • These agressive people could be found easily for we all have surfing fingerprint. If they just once get your id, you cann't hide even in Mongolia. Our brain has certain paths. Certain websites visited, in certain orders and we are using certain set of words for expression. That's why google wants lately a phone number, for just one is matching with your any given e-mail datas, you are in sight forever. In this case they won't do anything, since the offence were made to the public, not to her

  • @szolanek, Actually, they take things like his post very seriously, especially on a public thread. While no direct threat was made to Jackie, his intentions were quite clear. They have to investigate, and they have to do it quickly.

  • @theonejrs I just hope you are right.

  • @theonejrs The authorities are cracking down on child predators now, so these perverts are not going to be able to hide anywhere.

  • @theonejrs Please go to: 'This is me and my brother singing 'Over the rainbow'

The only thing is OK is Jake. The songs is 'You are my sunshine...' and Jackie looks totally different from the Jackie we know. All her lines, voice and acts are much stronger. It put me in such a unease, that I kept doing checkings.

My discovery is, that she is totally missing her trademark, the spots on her neck. Some disappeares at wintertime, but not hers and these significants.

Very odd. What do you think?

  • @szolanek,

I've see it before. if you look close, you can see the middle birthmark. She's got powder on so she doesn't shine into the camera. The picture was also taken a few years ago. She looks much different at 9, than she does at almost 12. You can see it more plainly in some of her older home videos, like the one where she sings "OMBC" Acapella when she was 8. I had marks on my head, from something, before I was 3, and started singing the next morning. Hand of God? Maybe!

  • @cowabunga48 I've reported you as well, only I reported you to the FBI!

  • @theonejrs This person has closed their account. Nice work all.

  • @HotRodder2100, Homeland Security will find him. He must think that by closing his account, it will keep them from finding him. Hope he likes Cuban Coffee, preferably laced with Tabasco Sauce. It won't cure him, but he'll sure learn what a Butt hole is for! =)

  • @theonejrs Yes, indeed. These sickos always end up getting caught in the end, and then he'll learn what its like to be on the receiving end of his threats.

  • @HotRodder2100 My friends are knocking at his door right now. You are never anonymous nowadays.

  • @cowabunga48 Males are giving, loving and protecting by nature. Exept for those, who are afraid to face their own mother. Agression is -in order to gain control- a female act.

Now we know, that evens chickens and cockroaches of life can apreciate heavenly music.

  • @cowabunga48 And you have been reported. ISPs are traceable.

  • True talent at its best.

  • whitenightmahdi, I just listened to the French song, "Fantasy", and this is not it. I did a little more research and discovered it's Lara Fabian's "Broken Vow", re-written in French exclusively for Jackie, by Lara. David foster wrote the Virtuoso Piano Bridge for Conrad Tao. Very nice to see him going back to his roots. Jackie and Conrad definitely are feeling the music.

Lara Fabian's version is in English, and has a completely different meaning. Both are beautiful to listen to.

  • I like her voice, and I think she should keep going, but I have one question. How much do you think that voice will change when she hits puberty?

  • @aurumque8, Surprise, it's already started and her voice continues to get lovelier with every performance.

  • I'm gonna break this chain of arguing and say that this is sooooooooooooo amazing! How foes she sing like that?

  • @Theepicpurpleninja They say she wished upon a star. Actually her vids on YT go back to when she was 7. She always had an unerring sense of the music... even at that early age she could sing lengthy complicated songs without any musical accompaniment be spot on key. Somewhere around 10 she made a quantum leap. It almost qualifies as a miracle. Only Jackie knows how it all came together... but it sure did. Her performance on PBS at barely 11 yrs is truly a Masterpiece.

  • @Laundis She seems to make a quantum leap about every month, and I'll bet Jackie doesn't even know how she does it. She is, after all, a prodigy who doesn't even see anything that special about her voice. Truly gifted, not only with an amazing voice, but also a phenomenal memory. Some fun tweets today from Jackie/Lisa. Someone asked her if she gets exhausted with her busy schedule. She replied, "nope - I'm like the Energizer Bunny." :)

  • @bruceh7211 I can't even imagine what she'll sound like in a few years from now. The progress that she has made in such a short period of time is astronomical. I also mentioned her incredible memory to someone else the other day - she never forgets a word or a note in a song, and her timing is always precise - unbelievable. My sister's daughter has a photographic memory, and I'm sure that Jackie must have something similar, in addition to a high-level of intellect.

  • @HotRodder2100, I love Jackie's voice, but lets be completely honest here. Jackie has on rare occasion missed a note, sung the wrong word, or missed her timing. Every great professional singer has. Where Jackie shines the most is at Crunch Time. When the master tape of her HC album accidentally got erased, threatening a delay in the release date, Jackie laid down 10 perfect tracks + alternates in less than 2 1/2 weeks. The album released on time! She's amazing!

  • @theonejrs It doesn't happen too often. For her age, you have to admit that she has one incredible memory, and brain. I've never seen anything like it.

  • @HotRodder2100, No, it sure doesn't. She never makes the same mistake twice. I remember the first time I saw her 7 year old version of "Wishing You Were Somehow here Again", and heard her singing about "Passing Bells and Scalded Angels", and my brain went HUH!!! I learned to sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" before I was 3, but those lyrics were a lot simpler. I personally want to hear, "Teaching Angels How to Fly" from PTAD, with her today voice. It would be a huge hit!

  • @theonejrs I personally have never heard her make a mistake. I have noticed the orchestra to screw up on her songs before, but have never heard her make an error. I agree that she would own Teaching Angels How to Fly.

  • @zamyrabyrd Go to Jackie's Wiki site and you will see the multitude of accolades from PROFESSIONALS in the music industry. She is well liked and respected, and hailed as one of the finest singers in history. Ranked top Classical Albums Artist for 2011, youngest top-10 debut artist in U.S. history, and the youngest top-5 debut artist in UK history. What have you accomplished in your pathetic life??

  • With all the success that Jackie has why in God's name would she want to compete with others in a conservatory that few will ever hear about and almost none of Jackie's fans care about. We all love her exactly the way she is and the way she sings, chin wobble, penguin waddle and all!

  • @tube7562 It's time to get off this chin wobble stuf! I've explained before, Jackie never had chin wobble. The slight jaw movement of Jackie at 11, is merely a little first big concert jitters, and Jackie's way of adding additional vibrato. Tho she does not have an adults diaphram, thoracic and lungs, she overcomes this. This is really heard on her CD, singing a glorious vibrato for "A Time For Us." See deiseldog quote, her socalled jaw wobble is gone, so true, for she never had it.

  • @davekanak I must be missing something here...I don't remember making a big deal about a chin wobble except one comment that the chin wobble doesn't exist anymore...are we saying the same thing or did you mean something different ?

  • @tube7562 I never said you made a big deal about her chin wobble, jaw waggle, lip quiver waggle wiggle or what ever it's been called. But in total, all the discussion I've seen has made a non issue into a big deal. I like the first part you said, "We all love her exactly the way she is and sings," and wud of liked it even more if you'd just left out the "chin wobble" part. IMO, I still feel she never had a chin wobble flaw, because if she did, it would not have just disappeared..

  • @davekanak I wont fight you over the chin wobble :). We agree to the same thing but just have different ways of saying it. By the way you're lucky I didn't mention anything about the pigeon-toes and moles... :).

  • @tube7562 Beautiful are the feet, and I consider her beautiful unique "moles," the mark and signature of God, on his most wonderful instrument. Have a good 1, peace.

  • @davekanak Dave, I know you're a huge Jackie fan, as am I and many others here. Not trying to get into a dispute, but only mentioning something about the "jaw wobble' (now a non-issue). Enjoy your posts and your support of Jackie.

  • @bruceh7211 I agree, and think Jackie has put the issue to rest. I look forward to many exciting years of enjoying this incredible ride with Jackie and all you guys. Have a great one. (*-*)

  • @davekanak I also look forward to hearing her for many years to come. I'm just glad this musical prodigy arrived in my lifetime, and feel fortunate that I can experience her gift, and see comments from others all over the world about the joy she's given them. Loved the video of Jackie's trip to the NPB DC that Lisa was kind enough to share with her fans.

  • @davekanak Although virtually gone, yes, there was a chin wobble, discussed ad nauseum on several forums. A VERY reliable source said: "About jackie's chin waggle. it is not due to bad technique as so many claim. It's a bad habit of hers that when told about, she can stop immediately. I assure you that she is not pushing her voice the way Charlotte Church did, & she doesn't do it to form a false vibrato. I'm working with her on breaking the habit, but again, it is not poor technique."

  • @bruceh7211 There has NEVER been a singer remotely to have the God given basicly self taught hauntingly beautiful flawless voice and supernatural talent that Jackie has. She is totally incomparable, so the micro critique technicle rules that don't apply to a 11yo with a 30 yolds voice, and the voice technique books need to be throw out the door. People have been brigging up this non issue for over a year, and I'd appreciate it if we could drop it, and just enjoy Jackie. We all love her.

  • @tube7562 I love what you said. Puts those naysaying snobs in their place. Analysis paralysis....no thanks. They don't get it. That's why their where they are and Jackie is where she is. Music is the language of emotion. Not a mathmatical formula. She touches us in that deep place and fills it up.

  • @Kirkunik1 Your last three comments say it all. Jackie gives so much pleasure through her magical voice and millions recognize the gift that she offers. That should be more than enough but no...we've got all the so called experts out there gunning for a 11 year old girl. What a shame !

  • @Kirkunik1 That was a great comment and very succinctly stated. Totally agree with @tube7562. Celebrity status has its rewards, as well its drawbacks; one of which is that artists will be critiqued regardless of their excellence.Jackie's arrived on the music scene BIG TIME, so critics are out in force trying to discredit her talent, attacking her parents & in general, trying to gain more readership & making fools of themselves. JE's success can somewhat be measured by how many attack her.

  • @theonejrs "not a single music school has come out against...bla, bla" They don't even NOTICE what is going on in the pop world, including Juilliard that made a public statement they have nothing to do with her. "All the important people in the world of music..more bla, bla" Yeah, right AGT, the same people who sent good singers home but put through a silly old broad who does a creepy hand whistle. Jackie admitted she had a coach who made her do the 'penguin walk' to get rid of stage nerves.

  • @zamyrabyrd, She didn't sing pop songs on AGT. "Con Te Partiro" was the closest thing to pop she sang. The other 3 songs were all classical music. Maybe if you did the bla, bla thing a bit less, and stopped trying to show how smart you are, you might actually learn something. I wasn't referring to AGT, I was talking about serious music people, like most of the great music schools in Europe. She can choose any Conservatory or School she pleases! Could you? It's called talent!

  • @theonejrs Yes, and she would compete with aspiring students who 1) can sustain long phrases without gasping every few notes 2) who don't have a wobble or a sandpaper sound in the lower register 3) who can easily sing above an Ab (the highest note in O mio babbino 4) who have clean diction in Italian and French 5) who can sing Ombra Mai Fu in the proper style without all the cheap emotiing theatrics 6) who already have a large repertoire of classical arias as they don't think it's"snooty music".

  • @zamyrabyrd, No offense, but you must be as dumb as a rock. She's 11, not close to full grown. She won't be attending any school before her instrument matures and her lungs grow. You hear only what you want to hear, and you obviously haven't heard her sing recently. Her highest note, certified by Ms. Nubar at Juilliard, is a G6. You don't like her style with "Ombra Mai Fu?" Tough! Strange, the idiot Opera snob mentions "Classical Arias" and "snooty music!" in the same breath!

  • @theonejrs Renee Fleming can sing a G6, and Mado Robin went higher by a 4th - SO WHAT? watch?v=00LhMMkIMwg

As you and others keep barking WHERE IS THE PROOF? Well, WHERE IS IT? NOWHERE did she sing higher than an Ab, lower by almost a scale from G6. You read one or two books, "know what you like" but you have NO real knowledge of music. Quite a few choir girls and boys, even younger, sing Ombra Mai Fu properly on youtube, hold the high note without shaky tone, histrionics and jaw wobble.

  • @zamyrabyrd, I suggest you call Juilliard and ask them! Boy! You are real good at stealing other peoples lines. 11 years and two degrees says you are wrong! I've read over 1000 books on Classical music and Opera alone. Jackie doesn't do properly, she re-defines properly! Michael Baitzer of NPR Radio would agree! Now you want to hold nature against her? Jackie will grow, and so will her lungs. No jaw wobble in recent videos. If you don't like her showing of emotion, Too bad!

  • @theonejrs god gave her a gift and she's putting that gift to use and praising it in his name by showing the word that it's HER NATURAL voice and talented not audio tone not nuna tht shit just her and the musical instruments tht come with it

  • @theonejrs It is the nature of the ego, for the sake of (false) self-enhancement, to find something to criticize. Sadly, they could not appreciate (to their own misery) the most perfect rose....and no one can stand to live with them either. I'm a musician w/ a well-trained ear & I've never heard any voice so perfect as this young girl.

  • @silkcat51,

Jackie will be the first to tell you that she isn't perfect, but the mistakes she does make are so minor, yet Jackie is always aware of them. She's her own worst critic! I agree with you though. I'm a Musician as well as a singer, with perfect pitch. Her's is the greatest pure voice I have ever heard, and she's an extraordinary young Girl, and a vocal artist that shows all of us that the world is still a beautiful place. She won't always be 11 either. God Bless Her!

  • @zamyrabyrd I'm writing this to you...but it is others here as well. I was just wondering.....

If you were on a desert island and you could have only one source of music....be it a musician or a singer....whom would you choose to be that one? One might tire of hearing the same voice or style...as we all have other music that brings us great pleasure. But, if could only have one....who? For myself? Jackie. She needs no tuning, no back up, no microphone, and no unending practice.

  • @Kirkunik1 The question is whether she would like to live on a desert island with YOU and sing to YOU (or any of the middle to old aged guys around here) for the rest of HER life.

  • @zamyrabyrd Here is what your assumption is. The middle aged crowd that forms the majority of Jackie fans will eventually die and Jackie won't have any fans left or will face a severe shortage of fans. What you forget is that her generation will become her die hard fans as they grow and mature with her. Most of them are kids but as they grow many of them will cater to her style of singing. Their musical tastes will change just as much as yours or mine did !!

  • @tube7562 Let's hope so ~

  • @tube7562 assuming her voice endures.

  • @happilyinsane8 That goes without saying. How her voice or her career will turn out is anyone's guess. For that matter she may decide to give up singing by the time she's a teenager. Who knows. However, what are indisputable facts are these:

    1. Her voice in 2 years since AGT continues to improve and strengthen as per both critics and fans.

    2. Her vocal chords are in pristine condition as per the doctors who examined her in January 2012. She has no damage or signs of stress.

  • @zamyrabyrd One other thing. The majority of Jackie Fans are middle aged women NOT men !!

  • @tube7562 Oh really? According to their channel profiles, most of them here are dodgy middle aged men with plenty of wax in their ears.

  • @zamyrabyrd

Let me get this straight. Jackie has 131,000 fans on her face book, about 20,000 followers on twitter, several thousands on other fan facebook pages. You mean to tell me you are so obsessed you actually went through several thousand profiles to find the dodgy middle aged men with wax in their ears. I gave you the stats out of news reports but you actually took upon a huge project.Great !! but for what purpose ?To prove what? Please, I'm anxious to know what is it you're trying to prove

  • @tube7562 WHO are obsessed? Only a sampling: "Beautiful are the feet, and I consider her beautiful unique "moles," I look forward to many exciting years of enjoying this incredible ride with Jackie and all you GUYS. In a short time she becomes real, vulnerable. Loosing lines, strong eyebrows, lipps…I've see it before. if you look close, you can see the middle birthmark. She's got powder on so she doesn't shine into the camera. You can see it more plainly in some of her older home videos."

  • @zamyrabyrd Are you trying to be funny ? You're quoting a bunch of comments made by different folks from different networking platforms. I know a lot about Jackie not because I spend hours everyday looking for information but because I'm part of a network where all types of information is shared. Obsession is something you do if you go looking up profiles of thousands of people just to prove a point which I still haven't figured out. So what are you trying to prove.

  • @tube7562 Obsession if you can't let others alone in their opinions. Recently, I was bothered by one of these obsessed people about who would I take on a desert isle. What was the point of that? I happen to think her singing Ombra Mai Fu with the Pittsburgh Opera was awful. If you don't want my opinion, leave me alone. 100,000 can't be wrong? Sure, they are all experts. Mc Donalds sells several billion hamburgers every year. Numbers don't necessarily make anything healthy or good.

  • Comment removed

  • @zamyrabyrd You can't expect to be left alone with your opinions on a public forum that is predominantly fan based when you're not a fan. That's just reality. Question is why would you continue to post after being insulted, trodden upon, ignored, hated etc. Leads one to think you enjoy being mistreated. This is not a sacrifice (you're not fighting WWIII). So Why??? I'm really curious

  • @tube7562 Zamyrabyrd was minding her own business when somebody here unnecessarily pulled her chain. Maybe if everybody leaves her alone, she'll continue to leave us alone.

  • Comment removed

  • @szolanek I hear Lisa is freaked out by people like you.

  • @MrBigEnchilada Mimicry is quite common among students of any subject, but above all singing. After all imitation is part of the learning process. Singing teachers try to disabuse their students not to imitate Sarah Brightman or any of their pop idols but to develop their own sound instead. But when they are encouraged to continue along that path as Jacobo Menconi from the age of 9 was encouraged to pretend he is 30 year old tenor, the results are more than questionable - awful in his case.

  • @zamyrabyrd Sorry for interrupting, but who is that singer Jackie Evancho successfully pretends to be?

  • @wojciechzby It was admitted that at the age of 8 she was TRYING to imitate Sarah Brightman. Of course, it is impossible to BE that idol - Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc., that a kid might want to follow. That is WHY good teachers say that one can learn from models BUT one's OWN voice should be cultivated. Jackie's natural voice is high and light. This is the direction she should have been encouraged to go, even though it is MUCH LESS profitable and takes longer to develop.

  • @zamyrabyrd What is your problem anyway? Why do you have such anger inside you? Did you have a bad experience in the music industry that has caused so much hate and resentment? You really should see a counselor for your own good;otherwise you will always see the world in a negative light.

  • @HotRodder2100 What's needed here is a conversion experience, a sudden burst of revelation to "see the light", to turn into a "true believer" like the rest of you nutcases? Otherwise, one has to go to the Gulag for reeducation? As for "anger", those who usually point one finger at someone else, have three pointing back at them - enough said!

  • Comment removed

  • @zamyrabyrd Are you serious. What century are you living in? Re-education? Gulag? We are talking about listening to music ... a pleasant past time for many. Its already been said several times that most don't give a hoot about technique. We love Jackie's voice and her persona the way it is ! Whats so difficult to understand about that !! I think the so called opera experts need a strong dose of common sense and reality !

  • @zamyrabyrd You are quite misinformed. Lorraine Nubar, head of Juillard's Pre-College Voice Dept. has consulted with JE to ensure she wasn't developing bad habits that would harm her voice. JE tweeted that she did the Penquin Waddle ONCE during AGT & hasn't done it since. The Japanese Royal Family decides who they want to hear, not Sony. Same with the Pres. Perhaps someday you'll realize a modicum of success, albeit not as a critic or singer. Maybe comedy, as you've given us some good laughs.

  • @zamyrabyrd I am shocked how many people waste their time replying to your obvious provocations. If you don't like her, do not listen to her. If you are worried about her voice being ruined, send Lisa a message. I personally don't care what you think and who you are (if this is your point), except for the fact that you intentionally paralyze next Jackie thread. Some good people love her singing, and yes, this IS subjective, so what's the problem? Please don't reply, I won't read it.

  • @wojciechzby Agree with you regarding responses...but...sometimes, one just feels compelled to respond to ignorance. Critiques here are worthless. Best way to communicate wih JE is through her management: @marcjohnston or her Twitter account, which her mom monitors & who usually responds. JE's been tweeting a lot recently. Also her FB page &JE Fan Club. That's where the E's go; not here. Her dad said she's not allowed internet access, & she said in a recent tweet that she doesn't do YT

  • @zamyrabyrd Jacobo Menconi had a terrible vibrato as did Aria Tesolin (her voice definitely sounds much better now). Neither of them even come close to Jackie's vocal power and beauty when they were close to her age. Jackie not only sounds like a 30 year old operatic singer (to most of the general public) but she also sounds like an opera singer with a beautiful voice. Often referred to as "one of the most beautiful voices of the past 100 years"....And she is only 11 years old.

  • @MrBigEnchilada As I pointed out to RoboSlater, it is useless to argue with the Dudley do-Rights who make big issues out of typos but conveniently ignore the glaring vocal flaws already pointed out. The proof of mimicry is that the upper range has a distincly different quality, purer in sound, that is not yet affected or ruined. They said you should know the audience. Yes, the fanatical defenders of the damsel in distress are mainly middle to old aged men with nothing better to do.

  • @zamyrabyrd A "damsel in distress" would probably not be invited to sing for the President (twice), a command performance for the Japanese Royal Family, sell-out venues world-wide, a platinum & gold album in a year, broken several records in the music industry. The one in distress is YOU, & you continue to demonstrate your expertise in only one area: being an ignorant miscreant, Jackie shares her gift to help make the world a better place. You, too, have a gift:making a complete ass of yourself

  • @bruceh7211 Yeah, like Obama is a musical expert. Sony decides what the Japanese Royal family will listen to. The considerations are money and more money. Hey, Mc Donalds sells billions of burgers every year. Does that make them nutritious?

  • @zamyrabyrd your theory and logic are desperate, and sounds like a little kid fighting for candies. There's nothing to it anymore except just to be annoying. It just show how much you envy Jackie. You seem very expert ( in googling, that is), then maybe you should make a name for yourself and not envy someone's achievements. Or come to you tube and discredits someone's work with your so called expertise. Sometimes we do need to accept the righteous, and just let it be.

  • @zamyrabyrd The only flaw is in your judgement. You are one of an INSIGNIFICANT MINORITY that judges Jackie and her fans based on jealousy and resentment.

  • @zamyrabyrd, Virtually all of the important people in the world of music disagree with you. She knows nothing about how to sing or techniques, but her Brain does! The most amazing thing about all of her performances, is the transformation from a Professional singer, with a wealth of experience, to being a little girl again. It's wonderful to experience live! She doesn't know how to mimic anyone! Nothing is affected or ruined either. The only fanatical person here is you!

  • I appreciate your efforts to help me understand two things - the technical knowledge of opera singing will enhance my listening pleasure and Jackie is simply mimicking the voice of an adult. Well then Jackie has the best mimicry I've ever heard. Many try but none sound as beautiful as her. So even her mimicry is exceptional. I've listened to Caballe, Callas, Netrebko, Bartoli, Fleming, DiDonato. Sorry, I'd rather listen to Jackie. Not that I don't like the others, I do but not as much as Jackie.

  • @tube7562, Jackie doesn't mimic anybody. Jackie will be the first to tell you she doesn't know anything about techniques. She doesn't even know how she does all these great things when she sings. It all comes from within. It's as natural as you can get! It just happens to all be up there in her brain. She's in a zone all her own, and a Musical Genius to boot! She saved HC after the tape was erased. She recorded 10+ quality tracks in less than 2 1/2 weeks. That's unheard of!

  • Comment removed

  • @theonejrs Trust me you don't need to convince me. I already know what you sadi and agree. I still haven't found anyone Jackie's age or adult who even comes close to her in vocal beauty and talent. The opera snobs can only harp on one thing ... technique but can't prove anything. Of course half the opera snobs are self proclaimed experts so their goes their credibility !

  • Sing little bird. Carry us all to heaven.

  • Just because you teach classical, voice, a lyricists, music and whatever, doesn't make you an expert already. You only make a fool of yourself. These is not about opera, singing, or who is better and who is not, these is all about Jackie's innocence, for Jackie fans, about an 11 year old kid who made a lot of people happy and teary when she sings. These is about a little kid who grow up in front of us (in youtube) with extraordinary talent, If y'all can't recognize that, then, it's hopeless 4 u

  • @RoboSlater I was going to tell you not to waste your time with those who don't want to be troubled with facts. But I'm glad my comments reached one sensible person. The process of singing cannot be separated from the result. What goes up comes down. The laws of physics have not been suspended here. SERIOUS vocal flaws coming from exploiting a short term gain over possible, even probable irreversable damage, don't bother the promoters nor the fans as long as they are "enjoying" themselves.

  • @zamyrabyrd and we also want to tell you not to waste your time being so jealous to an 11 year old who is much better than you. How come you opera clown freaks cannot understand, that all that matters here are Jackies' singing and delivery of the songs? not about how it should be done according to YOU, opera freaks wannabes. Why come here and start all the BS? are you not scared at all? you could get a heart attack arguing of something BS that you started.

  • @zamyrabyrd Once again, where are your facts? Where is your evidence of "probable irreversable damage"? (Note: learn how to spell "irreversible") You are so insanely jealous of this talented prodigy that you will stop at nothing to discredit her and those who work with her. Keep in mind that Jackie will continue to be one of the greatest singers of all time, and will go down in history, but clowns like you will soon be forgotten.

  • Welcome everyone to the Roboslater Show.

  • @Laundis Well said, time to leave this page.

  • Say what you want about Jackie,,,say what you want about me...I fully enjoy her singing enjoy seeing her live...never have I enjoyed anyone else's singing...call me tone deaf stupid whatever...I just know what I enjoy...to bad you can't

  • clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap clap clap!! clap clap

  • Ditto to Tube7562's last comment. What's not to like Jackie's performance!

  • -_- why are people writing essays?

  • In the superficial culture, we live in, where individuals with absolutely no talent or ability can achieve mega-star status it is refreshing to hear the amazing, off the chart, gifts of Jackie Evancho. Her place in music and singing history is already assured.

  • Old people, jealous of an 11 years old. Sad, tsk tsk tsk... Throwing big words at youtube, and mostly it's not even appropriate words for a simple conversation. And after all the BS, they go back to sit on the couch and eat cake.

  • @MrWarbeast

Agree ! Some of these arm chair opera experts need to get a life and go someplace else instead of trying to tell people what they should listen to. I know my ears and they tell me to listen to Jackie and that's exactly what I'm going to do !!

  • @tube7562 Exactly, and if they think Jackie has any vocal problems, then they either have hearing problems, mental problems, or a combination of both. Like you say, they are the ones that need help.

  • @HotRodder2100 LOL !! I couldn't have said it better !

  • Youre stupid if you dont think this is crazy. Talking about singing in her appropriate key? how bout you talk about her being barely out of fuckn diapers with a voice like that.

  • I'm a rock music fan but this young girl is awesome! ...what God given talent!! I wish her nothing but the best in her future.

  • rolling my eyes....... QQ jealousy, envy and wannabe are mortal sins.

  • First let me say I'm a rabid Jackie fan. I'm on her website almost every day including her chatroom. But zbyrd is right about her lower register; it is weak relative to her high registers. However, the reason is her lungs have not developed fully. And she is so small that it might take years for her lungs to fully grow. But that is a physical issue not a talent issue.

Her vibrato technique needs to change as well. The chin waggle needs to be changed to an open pharynx and closed vocal chords.

  • @dieseldog00 I'm sorry but you are mistaken about lung capacity. It takes more effort to sing high notes than lower ones. If what you are saying is correct, then, every small person would not be able to sing low notes and that is not true at all. You are right, it is not a talent issue but a technical one that should be addressed by coaches and teachers.

  • @zamyrabyrd Well I sang in school but never had a lesson. I don't know much about vocal things. I played a brass instrument mostly.

But aside from a few technical issues which are easily corrected, what is your issue with Jackie, or is it with her parents? You know her voice has been given a clean bill of health by two famous Otolaryngologists don't you?

Just put all your issues in one post...or two if you need it. That way we can know better how to respond to you.

  • @dieseldog00 So if these technical issues are easily corrected, why are they dragging on for two years or more? It's really amusing to read that if you are not a complete and true believer then there must be something psychologically wrong with you.

Also amusing to read the passionate defenses of a family who is living off their daughter and making loads of money and such tripe as "we couldn't afford a virtuoso!" Big joke! Tao surely qualifies as one according to the dictionary definition.

  • @zamyrabyrd The only Big Joke here is YOU! Get over your friggin jealousy and resentment alreay! Do you know how sickening and pathetic you are to listen to?

  • @zamyrabyrd Speak for yourself. You come on here dissing Jackie, her family, and everyone else on here, and you expect us to be respectful and polite to you? And in terms of "facts", I have yet to hear any evidence from you regarding your claims of vocal cord damage, or many of your other claims. You're nothing but a loud-mouthed hypocrite!

  • @dieseldog00 #2 As you played a brass instrument, you should appreciate the issue of a good or bad technique, since most of the posters here don't understand it. If you use a bad technique to get a short term goal, like getting more emotion into the sound (in voice, pushing the sound into the resonators), it's not enough to say - no damage so far!

No, habits formed early will set. Imagine if not only playing in the school band but compounding the mistakes by constant public solo appearances.
