  • the greatest f***ing band in the world...bar none!!!

  • facemelt!

  • I love Magma, but I can't help thinking of a bad satire of a pentecostal meeting. ;)

  • I love the idea of Pentecostals blissing out to Magma!

  • Senseitre, you're close--but think black church. Magma's music is full of spiritual testimonials and drop-down pass-out ecstasy. It's gospel meets futuristic minimalism meets primitve chant meets classical chorales meets complex jazz fusion.

  • @Magmanik - Yeah you're right. I agree- was really just taking the piss! This isn't my favourite magma by any stretch though- and I can imagine it'd be a lot more confronting for newcomers than some other 'eras'.

  • EPIIIIIIIIIK

  • That is incredible. Possibly the best I have heard from Magma.

  • fucking fantastic yet again...ENERGY!

  • "To this ancient stage have I come to die, and I say 'thank you!'"

  • The bubbling, overflowing joy of existence... "My Master (Zess) is Creation."

  • just think, this is only 7 minutes out of a 30 minute piece and look how powerful it is

  • no, u r not the only one.

  • u are not the only one mate

  • 4:45-5:20. Am I the only one who gets spine tingling chills?

  • Why is Magma so little known? It's incredible really. Playing such advanced music with such a high level of energy for 40 years and it seems they have only about 10,000 passionate fans around the world. Some documentary seriously needs doing.

  • is that Antoine Paganotti on drums? Wow!

  • HOT! Such energy for a 60 year old man!

  • incredible

  • If you want to know the context and reason for all this fiery passion see rough translation of the opening lyrics at YouTube's "Magma Zess (Extracto Bobino 81)"

  • awesome guitar!!!

    great.

  • Antoine Paganotti was pretty good on drums in this track. It must have been nerve-wracking playing behind Christian Vander. A great DVD.

  • ...And some of these lyrics (at 3:25) appear in "Ektah," (from 1998) to a very different style of music.

  • "Zess" is Kobaian for "Master." 'Nuff said! ;)

  • merde c'est si fin! j'adore ces gens ci, quells oeuvres d'art!!

  • This is just an amazing DVD! Zess is the openner. So tight and passionate!

  • Agree. Such passion in music is rarely seen today. More ! More !

  • wouaouuuuuuu ! :)

  • YES!!!

  • GREAT Version of ZESS!

I'll get that DVD right away!

  • MAGMA
