Well, I don't think so. They (US army) hade some robots, but due to an "incident" (uhm, a robot turned 180 degrees when it wasn't supposed to do that - not a major incident) they recalled some (if not all) of the gun-bearing robots. Please PM me if you have good sources saying something else!

as it happens, most of the robots in Iraq and similar are autonomous, heavily armed and only report back to base to ask permission to fire.

Isreal is fielding weapons along a DMZ that are essentially robotic sniper rifles. totally autonomous. kills anyone in its target zone.

and that final 24t is meshed with the last gear (8t which is connected to a 48 t gear that you attach four beams onto. When something was dropped onto the edge of a beam, it would likely go flying. (what do u mean likely? I didn't program it yet...)

Sounds cool - what I am thinking about is a gun that can hanlde a larger clip - with the design above and some modifications, the clip could be kicked up to as many as one wants.

The main mod would be changing the feed from a top loading to side loading feed.

When a rubberband was fired, the circle section motor would turn and the gear on the other beam was meshed with the black gear that was mounted on the lower motor. That would spin both gears, the one on the beams and the one on the lower motor, and the rubberband goes.

The design I had before was simple; the trigger was attached to one side of a gear. Beams would stretch to a distance and one side of the rubberband would be laid between two gear teeth, while the other side would be slinged onto the edge of the beam at the other end of the gun. Pull on the trigger, the rubberband goes flying.

Two of the motors are used for the tracks and the third is for the gun. The gun is from the Viking Heavy Artillery set, so take a look at that and adapt it by motorizing the crank.

The program in this case was set with a delay and then runs the gun motor (motor A) five rotations, which uses up the clip.
