  • This isn't the only popular song from the 20th Century to be an Official State Song without most of America realizing it, despite knowing the song quite well.

The Official State Song of Louisiana is:

    "You Are My Sunshine."

  • it is the only official state rock song if u listened i would know i'm from ohio

  • True, but "You Are My Sunshine" is a Country song, and probably the only one of those. Home on the Range (another famous State Song that few people realize is a State Song [of Kentucky]) and some others more qualify as Western instead of Country.

  • Try Kansas instead of Kentucky. Kentucky's state song is "My Old Kentucky Home" (and their official bluegrass song is "Blue Moon of Kentucky"). Also, Louisiana has two official state songs (the other is "Give Me Louisiana"), as well as a state environmental song ("Gifts of the Earth") and a state march song ("Louisiana My Home Sweet Home").

  • Ack! That'll teach me to post on too little sleep!

I always get the "K" states confused when sleep-deprived.
