*swooning* i know it says 'violin' but how come it sounds so nice and mellow - as opposed to high and soprano? or is it being played an octave lower (i don't know music theory... just a guess).
@Nilaratna it's because this is an 'adaptation by Wilhemji' it is in a different key (it's in Cmajor) and it is meant to be played all on the violin G string, so yes, it is played on lower notes. The original written by Bach was an orchestral suite written in a different key, can't remember but maybe in D major (please anyone correct me if I am wrong) and yes it is written in higher notes.
@Nilaratna The key was transposed into C Major, then made an octave lower. So all notes are played on the G string. The lowest (in terms of pitch) string in the violin. :) That's why it sounds so full and mellow, as you said. :D
Love it, thank you. Finally a version on Youtube that actually plays the arrangement on the G string? Most of the other Airs on G are just the original Bach.
Perfect!

この演奏が正真正銘のウィルヘルミの「G線上のアリア」ですね。
原曲(組曲第3番のアリア)を「G線上のアリア」と呼ぶのは非常に
抵抗があります。実際に原曲をG線1本では弾けませんから...........

I like this version... I don't prefer the higher one.

Perfect! Thanks for this video - this interpretation is so warm and full of emotion!
I don`t like the ones of i.e. Mrs. Chang & Mutter, which are too technical, "perfect" and cold.

There are a lot of talented people that can play this with great technique, but this one has soul and heart.

The tempo is a bit too fast than what I'm used to. Nevertheless, the interpretation was lovely.

@Nilaratna Besides the key changes and stuff, the violin itself is a versatile instrument. :D It can kill chickens or produce mellow sounds.
