  • unruly behavior from Yankee fans? How do u teach a monkee to behave put it in a cage is the only way I know

  • Miss ya Bob...your voice will forever be in my memories

  • @njteech same here. RIP Bob

  • Every since I was a kid, I remember getting to Yankee Stadium an hour early for batting practice and listening to Bob Sheppard talk about promotions and read the lineups etc...I get sad just thinking about it. Those were some great times!

  • Being a Yankee fan IS disorderly conduct.

  • @bukakee1 No, being a jealous P.O.S. is disorderly conduct.

  • RIP

  • Another great voice lost this year...first Ernie Harwell, now Bob Sheppard. Condolences to all Yankees fans from a die-hard Tigers fan.

  • Bob passed away this morning, at age 99. May he rest in peace!

  • Now this feels like a true Yankees home game, with Bob Sheppard's wonderful voice, and with the game being at the old/true Yankee Stadium! Yankees home games just aren't the same without Sheppard, and the old stadium. At least it's good that Sheppard's voice didn't completely go away, since you can still thankfully hear it whenever Derek Jeter comes to bat! (-:

  • I was at that game and sat right on the Yankee dugout that night. It was my birthday. A-Rod hit two Home Runs in One inning. Awesome game

  • "Don't throw batteries in the outfield". I love bob sheppard's voice..hey shut up HE's talking!!!....

  • I can listen to Sheppard all day

  • priceless....

  • I wish I could answer that question but I have never attended a playoff game at the old Yankee Stadium.

However when I have watched rebroadcasts of Game 6 of the 1977 World Series on ESPN Classic, I could hear him in the background announcing to fans that they should not throw objects onto the field. This was after Reggie Jackson had to run off the field to avoid being pelted by all sorts of debris from fans sitting atop the RF fence in anticipation of the eventual Yankee victory.

  • does bob sheppard make the disorderly conduct announcment before the playoff games he announced?

  • he will be missed at the new yankee stadium
