Whether you're a hawk fan, a wings fan, or a hockey fan in general, god were we blessed watching these animals play hockey and duke it out. I miss this old chicago/detroit rivalry. Right now my hawks' new rival is vancouver, and honestly, I think the wings NEED to sign a tough guy, badly. They're star players are having to fend for themselves and it isn't looking good.
People can say what they want, Belfour was a great goalie and now also a HOF:er. He was a bit crazy, but that's what made him one of my favorites. Btw, I miss the 90's when all the top goalies, like Belfour, Roy, Potvin, Brodeur, Richter etc all had totally different equipment and playing styles and were fun to watch. Add to that the personalities of guys like Roy, Belfour and Hextall. All you see nowadays is a bunch of clones with the same looking equipment.
Hahah Probert was funny I must say he knew that he would start a fight by that little hit on Belfour. classic NHL right there these things don't happen nowdays
@TBoneMontana If it weren't for him doing them drugs, I bet he would have a better Sportsmanslike Conduct. It's just sad that he past away. I don't know why the Blackhawks took him, but I heard he cleaned up during his time playing with the Blackhawks
I was at the Star Center in Farmers Branch (Texas) not long ago and while looking around, saw Eddie buying pads for his kid who plays in one of the leagues. I said Eddie! and he was like, huh?. It was him but he kept saying no, got the wrong person. He looked rough, like a lumberjack ready to go off, it was funny. I've also seen Al Secord in there (he plays on a men's team) and he is the nicest guy in the world, very talkative and cool.

@TommyCage0736 In the 90s, the Blackhawks and Blues had an entertaining cross-river rivalry as well. One game I watched, 5 fights broke out.

Probert barely touched him. What does Belfor expect when he leaves the crease and goes in against the boards?

@Beausant Belfour plays in a local mens league here in DFW too. Can you imagine playing hockey for fun with the Eagle?! Haha

Belfour is retarded that is why I liked the guy. You never knew what to expect from him.

@wylde40 Exactly man. My favourite goalie. And he never should have stopped drinking. His play dropped after he did.

Balfour is a future hall of fame goaltender and Cup MVP, Probert is a trash pail who could fight.

Is Belfour retarded? seriously
lopop72 2 years ago
He only did that shit knowing:
a. his teammats would go after Probert, which was always part of the Hawk/Blues/Maple Leafs/North Stars game plan and
b.he knew the system knew Probert and would at minumum give Probert an equal amount of penalty time.
