I totally agree with your thoughts on Piquet Jr. He has his own brain, he was driving the car, I don't care what Flavio did or did not say to him. He made the last decision, he crashed the car, he caused a risk to other driver and spectators, he should be punished.

What I understand is it was Nelson's idea so to me he is as much to blame (if not more) than anyone. Flavio's banning is right though I could accept a 10 year ban. Pat's 5 years is right too seeing he admitted to being involved. The FIA aren't in the best situation having to let Nelson go though. The one good thing is that I doubt any team (or sponsor) would want a slow, cheating, dangerous, politically vindictive driver drive for them. So the law of the jungle should take care of Nelson.

FIA do make good decisions. The 100 million punished the team the McLaren right way for spying, heavy punishment on the development side, where they cheated..

This is pretty good punishment all round. Flavio should not have allowed this to happen. Even if it was Piquet's idea.

It could have been his idea. He qualified badly, could have come up with the idea. Either way, they are all in the wrong.

He got off lightly if it was his idea.. who will ever know.

driver line up is easy at the top to predict but the other teams ther is so much open now. and so many GP2 guys wanting to class up, many old F1 Vets wanting back in and so many punters that need to retire! its crazy but i thing Renault will get Kubica and Glock! If williams gets a great engine then Kov and Hulk should be in the points. I fear for Heidfeld as a seat might be lost unless Merc picks him up to Force India.

im sure mark webber wouldve told briatore to fuck off as would any f1 driver thats already respected but piquet is an ambitious newcomer to a race seat and given his performance to date he did as he was told by the most powerful man in the team. im not surprised he complied but hes still a bitch. you cant control a crash. anything can happen (ayrton senna had a piece of suspension pierce his head in a crash that he couldve easily survived otherwise). he put lives at risk including his own.

Flavio might've said "Right, you crash your car or you're out!", and for a guy (Nelson) who loves F1 & Renault he might have complied 'cos he wants to stay in the team. And when you're 22 (or there about) it's more than tough to stand up against someone that just about OWNS the team. Nevertheless, it was the wrong decision, all around. It happened.

I have read on the ITV-f1 web site that Symonds has made claims that it was Piquet who came up with the idea in the first place, up till now the stories coming out have painted a picture of Piquet cornered by the bully Flavio and "handing over his lunch money" by crashing the car. Piquet should not have gotten off free but I think the court of world opinion will judge him harshly and I dont expect to see him in a race seat anytime soon. great video guys and I agree webber would not have done it.
