All I see is slow feet... I mean it is a slow samba but still... the only amazing thing about her is her smile and the way she performs... She knows the technique but she can't do it that well... She's dancing surprisingly well for a pro that has retired from competitive scene. Compare this to other ballroom pros on the show...

It's shame how little you can do to be an awesomesauce ballroom dancer on this show. Take Dmitry for example. Horrible basic movement, strictly by hand leading. Mix it with good looks and an open shirt, some hot lines and the crowd goes wild regardless of the actual quality of dancing. But I guess one shouldn't expect any more than that.

Thus it has evolved in the course of a century because it's been exposed to a constant enviroment of innovation and improvement in coreogrpahy and movement mechanics. The international samba danced half a century ago wasn't that far away from its original roots.

Just like Brazil took Jiu-Jitsu from the early 20th century and made their own style, called Brazilian/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, the ballroom community took Samba in the mid 20th century and spread it all over the world. The style of Samba in this video is called International Samba. If you're not going to accept that the rest of the world can do International Samba, how can Brazil do Jiu-Jitsu?

@RickRossBR there are no different versions of samba but samba, like you, have evolved over time. samba did not only come from Brasil but from Africa too as a religious tradition. i hope that you also realize that samba started in the 20th century with a 2/4 tempo. obviously, samba has changed over time like how you wear your hair when you were a kid.
