  • Study finds Paul Krugman is the most partisan economist. Krugman was the only economist to "significantly" change his stances for partisan reasons. Krugman has even gone so far as to contradict his own findings to bash Republican politicians. - Brett Barkley, Econ Journal Watch, May 2010

  • Yes, let's get OFF oil, but we sure could use some in the meantime to get to that point. I don't know about YOUR salary, but I sure can't afford a $200,000 hydrogen car, not that we have anywhere to fill it up.

My car doesn't run on fairy dust so stop the back and forth retoric and get me some oil.

  • Also, we all BREATHE OUT C02. Volcanos produces YEARLY more C02 than all of the earth's industry's combined. You should look up some of the facts on this multi-billion dollar industry of Environmentalism before you just fall in line behind their mantra of doom and gloom for the earth. It was only 35 years ago that the same guys were telling us that the earth was going to enter into a "little ice age". Look THAT up!

  • You need to do some reading. The scientists calculate the effects of volcanoes, the effects of sun cycles and still the unprecedented level of CO2 we're pouring in is having a significant effect and taking us to levels higher than in hundreds of thousands of years. If you don't read then shut up. And don't just read oil company scientist propaganda(about 3 out of a thousand who are deniers).

  • If we got serious about becoming energy independent the Saudis would lower the prices immediately. It's happened before and it will happen again. Only this time we shouldn't give up just because of the lower prices.

Also, if Clinton hadn't made ANWR off limits 15 years ago that oil would be already be here. What the heck did we buy Alaska for in the first place? It wasn't because of it's beauty.

  • Does anyone else think that at 2:15 you could take a snapshot and caption it: "Olbermann interviews giant elf"?

  • The point is NOT to lower oil price BUT to lower consumption. The american is spending and wasting too much resource.

  • The market would naturally clamour to the highest EROEI biofuel feedstocks (like algae) and other renewable energy solutions (like thin-film solar), but the general population and the corporate media alike are basically divided into people who WANT to distort the market to the worst EROEI solutions (in order to shore-up the petrodollar regime) and the ignorant people who don't even know what EROEI stands for. Humanity deserves what it gets, because they are dumb and/or complicit.

  • "Clean coal" is a marketing gimmick. Coal is still the dirtiest form of energy. "Clean coal" technology merely captures the CO2 that burning coal generates and "stores" it for deep well injection into the earth. The CO2 will still leak out into the atmosphere, possibly in huge releases due to seismic movements of the earth's crust.

  • There is no clean coal as getplaning said. But there can be cleaner coal by using sophisticated technology.

  • A pilot carbon sequestering power plant was supposed to be operational a few years ago. They couldn't do it...The project was abandoned.

With no government mandates for clean renewable energy...there wont be any. Period.
