  • 1999 mustang gt 4.6 {0-60} 5.5 and a 14.1 1/4 mile time........1999 camaro ls1 5.7 {0-60 in 5.5 and a 13.7 1/4 mile time and last the/ 2003 SRT-4 {0-60} in 5.6 and a 14.1 1/4 mile time..... the mustang with only a 4.6 is just half a car slower than than a ls1 camaro with a 5.7 in the 1/4 mile.... and just as fast as the SRT-4 that has a turbo... so to talk trash on anybody with any of these cars and you have 1 of the 3 is stupid because in a stock race none of the cars stand out that much

  • Not a bad car, not bad sounding, however I think if you would have tried to get a better start, it would have really improved your time. 0-40 was horrible... ive been in a stock mazda protege with 1.6L 4cyl that is faster than that. It picked up pretty good around 60-70 though.

  • @coandcaiv I kinda think the same, a reasonably fast car...but how did chevy get away with a 320hp LS1 and still show similar stats to a comparable 4.6. I love the camaros and mustangs, but I personaly love the F body series and am hoping by next year to own an LS1

  • @coandcaiv The stock power of a mustang gt is pretty good actually. its not the fastest thing on the road but whats good about mustangs (especially gt's) is that the possibilities are endless. You can do a lot with the mustang gt's. If your going to get a mustang dont get a v6. I had a v6 and hated it.

  • @blackshadow610 never been in the v8 ...but i drove a 99 v6...and it felt pretty quick....but i looked under the hood and it left me with the same feeling as the v8's do.....big engine....but seems to lack the power....either way, im sure sometime down the road ill pick up a cheap v6 or v8....its cheap fun and any garage works on them.

  • @coandcaiv I thought the same thing until I drove a gt and was like damn this is so much quicker than the v6 lol. And the v6 has a 3.8l which is pretty big for a v6 but the mustang is a heavy car so the v6 is a little underpowered in my opinion. And yea nothing but mustangs :)

  • In this vid your car starts off at 3 seconds, hits 60 at 9 seconds, I even timed it with my stop watch and got exactly 6.0 seconds. And this is with an exhaust system and an H-pipe. My Camaro has bad tires on it, and does 0-60 in 5.7, stock. The LS1 is capable of 0-60 in 5.2, just watch car and driver vids for the LS1 Camaro.

  • i have a bolt on 99 GT with 3.73's and i have a gtech. my fastest 0-60 time was a 4.97 seconds. the car is a 5 speed

  • @mikeshredder233 The 1999 Mustang GT did not do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds...even the 2005-2010 Mustang GT didn't, only the 2011 Mustang GT broke into the mid 4's.

    Yes, he does step on the gas at about 3 seconds, but he doesn't let off the clutch until around 4 or so. Listen for the tire squeal, that's the indication that the power is going to the ground and that's when you start the clock. Ya know, with a 5 speed, RPM climbing up doesn't mean he's moving like it does with an auto....

    Time it with a stop watch. Being as lenient as I possibly can, I never get less than 5.4 or so, which is more or less what I get when I clock your SS.

  • @sneaky98gt I don't know how manuals work, as I drive an automatic. So if you're right and the car doesn't really start up until about 4 seconds...I clocked it with my stopwatch, does 0-60 in about 5.5-5.7 seconds. Which runs even with my stock Camaro. So the Mustang does pretty good.

    However, I didn't floor my Camaro from the start, I've got crappy tires and have to be careful not to just floor it otherwise I'll just spin, so on a good launch I could probably break into 5.4 or so.

  • @Quatermain98526 Manual is 10x more fun to drive and is faster. Since an auto trans takes power just to run the transmission. A manual is just a gear box

    the mustang does get more looks b/c it sounds better...... v8 sounds better over v6 any car any day..... i think i got more looks just today in the Mustang than i ever have in the GP... and the mustang is in pretty bad condition on the exterior, check my vid, but i just put new wheels on so it looks a little better

You can make anything fast just depends on what ya like. But not a fan of the dodge scene though. hell me and my friend are racing my stang against his 09 f350 diesel. with the nutty professor tune. i may end up having my ass handed to me by a tow truck.lmao. i only run a 12.99 on a good day.

    I went from a 99 GT to my SRT-4 .... ended up loving the SRT-4 a shit load more than the Mustang. The mustang had it's moments though... but way too much money to make it fast compared to the SRT-4

The G8 is way ahead of the new SHO performance wise. However, the SHO will likely outsell it because the public will actually know about it.   • G8 is a Vauxhall vrx-8 or something. The way i see it, its a 4-door GTO. It does have a 6.0l engine with 400 hp, however it also weighs almost 4000lbs. Not say its a slow car but the power to weight ratio is a bit off.

I dont know where you're getting this unreliable part from, the ford 4.6L engine is in the top ten list of engines built, so get off the high horse buddy. I've heard of a bunch of you guys having overheating issues when you go to a smaller pulley, I wouldn't call that reliable. I dont care what they're "capable" of, thats what you run.

  • Overheating issues? lol it's called knock dumbass. And that's only because a lot of people don;t know how to correctly mod a GTP. They slap on like a 3.2'' pulley without any supporting mods, and like 6 months later they pop a piston or spin a bearing, because they were running 13-14 psi of non intercooled boost on a stock motor.

  • 13 or 14 only? Is that all it takes? On a 3.8L? The 2.0 LSJ can take 2.8" pulleys, just like the 4.6L cobra. Swap out the stock eaton for a whipple or Kenne Bell, no problem, nothing is blowing up, but the mighty L67 can't even take a 3.2" on the stock M90?

  • A stock cobra eaton on the stock pulley is enough to push a mach1 into the low-mid 400s on a conservative tune which is more than enough to run 11s. Keep dreaming bud.

  • The Mach1 has the same motor as the cobra you idiot. So a stock eaton with a stock pulley on a mach1 would be no faster than a stock cobra. Probably 350 rwhp. Which would be about a mid-high 12. Lol you are a fucking dumbass. Please stop posting.

Let me put this in chevy terms so you wont burn to many brain cells. You got a C6 with an LS3 motor and a ZR1. The ZR1 motor is based on the LS3 but its built for boost. A ZR1 puts down about 520whp and I'm guessing an LS3 puts down about 392whp.

  • Why do you think that when you supercharge a C6 with the LS3 it puts down 50+whp more than the LS9 in the ZR1 at the same boost?? Its called COMPRESSION. The LS9 has 9.1:1 where the LS3 comes with 10.7:1. Well its the same in Mach1/Cobra case, the Cobra comes with 8.5:1 where the Mach1 comes with 10.1:1. Go learm a thing or 2, kid.

    You're saying that the extra 30-40 rwhp that you'll get from a mach 1 will drop you from like a high 12 in a stock cobra to a low 11? Are you nuts??

  • No! Boosted motors come with lower compression. And yes, a mach pushing around 425whp is an 11sec car if its able to put the power down. Machs with simple bolt-ons/gears and slicks/skinnies have hit low 12s before at 110+mph and thats a car thats pushing about 305-310whp.

  • A stock cobra will run a low 13 or a high 12, there's no way in hell that a little extra compression is going to net you almost a 2 second drop in the 1/4 mile. Not to mention that the cobra already comes with forged internals so it's a much better platform to start with. An L67 doesn't really need forged internals though LOL. 800+ WHP on stock bottom end FTW!!

  • A stock cobra run mid-high 12s(360+whp) but traps around 114-116mph, which is easily 11sec. traps. The car is limited by the IRS which isn't really ideal for drag racing, its more of a circuit track rear end, which when lauched hard results in massive wheel hop. The mach doesn't suffer from this because it comes with a solid rear which stock can handle plenty of 5-6K launches at the track. Also the 3650 tranny in the Mach has a lot tighter ratios allowing it to accelate faster.

  • No motor can withstand constant detonation. These will actually take it for quite awhile though. I've put about $1,500 into my GTP and have dropped about 2 full seconds in the 1/4 mile.
