I would have done the same thing if I were the guy with the 2 handed sword-Go into the woods and use the trees to my advantage since I didn't have a shield. I like the background music!
@KungFuRascals3 no thats not a real advantage since the advantage of a two handed sword is the longer range. and in the woods its easier to swing a short weapon than to swing a long one.....
so ein schwert wiegt in der regel 1,5 kg (1 1/2 händer) oO ich weis zwar nicht mit was für 3-hand-schwertern du kämpfst, aber ein schwert ist nicht sonderlich schwer und du kannst damit verdammt schnell sein, nur ermüdet man schneller als bei larp waffen. Laktat bildung etc.
Kritik zur kenntniss genommen kannst scho recht haben bin aber der überzeugung das die doch mindestens 2-3 wiegen da mein einhänder -gut wohl "spätgothisch" angelehnt - aber dennnoch das wiegt schon 2 kg und naja hat ne klingenlänge von 70 - 80 wenn überhaupt. UND ja^^ ich würde es mir nicht noch einmal kaufen
PS: Schön einen mittelalter interessierten getroffen zuhaben^^

Ich find das Video ist gut gemacht, auch die Schriftart gefällt. Doch etwas mehr Ausspielerei wär schön...nagut bei Gates2 auf m*video ist es wesentl. schlimmer ; )
SIeht schwer anchs chaukampf aus, bezüglich des parrierens und der nordamnn verwendet seins child zu offensiv und bietet seinem feind zu viel trefferchance, wobei den sinn des Rundfschildes vernachlässigt :/ aber sieht kewl aus ^^
Der Rundschild varriert je nach größe von 50-80cm und einigen funden anch zu urteilen sogar 90cm bis einen ganzen Meter!
So konnte ein Geübter kämpfer durch einen Rundschild seinen ganzen Körper optimal und ganz flächig schützen. Sogar die Beine . Durch die Runde Form biett der Schild besonders gute sicht anders wie beim Turmschild der aber auch nicht für den Zweikapf gedacht war ;) .
Der Schildbuckel schützt ein kleines Loch im Schild an dem eine Stange befestigt war fürs halten was jedoch die römischen und Keltischen Schilder alle ebenso hatten ;) nur in späteren Zeiten - hochmittelalter- hatten die Stahlschilde eine andere montur zum Tragen - soweit ich weiß aber damit hab ich mich nie wirklich befasst :// .
Allem in Allem ist der Rundschild kein riesengroßes Schild, kann jedoch durch die Wenidgkeit mit ihm den ganzen Körper ebsno gut schüzen wie ein Turmschild.
Zudem ist er Leicht,s chränkt das Blickfeld nicht ein und kann durch geschicktes SChwingen ebenso als Waffe einegsetzt werden (schildschlag genannt) :))

omg i hate shield users! i use a quater staff which is usually great against double hande swords but shield users just charge in block my attacks get close an then cut me to ribbons

i think it all depends on what rules the group you play with follows, for example darkon and dagorthir both require foam swords coated with cloth on all hitting sides

i really do like the latex wepons better. every now and then somone gets insanely clocked, or speared in a usually hevly guarded spot. i think people do need to suck it up a little and throw a head butt, or bash somone. those are always my favrot fights.

nur bedingt richtig das normannishe kite zum beispiel ist ein hervorragendes schild für en zweikampf wenn man damit umgehen kann...
große turmschilde sidn ahlt inflexibel aber auch damit kann man sich duellieren...

i've had much better fights but I don't use latex weapons so it didn't look as cool but i do get in some pretty intense fights sometimes.
