hoots7...absurd...even if someone does think they can "earn" salvation, do you really think that person could sanely equate our humanly efforts to the massive sacrificial event of the cross? No person in their right mind would/could/should ever even insinuate that is possible...think about it

Why not just show from the Bible a single verse of mental assent salvation? Why not just give a verse to support your "asking Jesus into the heart"????

You want to stress works like you can work your way into heaven, forget it, Jesus & nothing else!

If you asked Jesus into your heart, you are saved & always saved; you can't become more saved or un-saved.

Un-confessed sin will still have consequences to the saved person though, but not the loss of salvation.

You said Revelation3:20 means "Jesus is knocking on the door of the church" not individuals.

1of3Paul W, you are right people don't grasp the "preciousness" of Jesus but wrong about sin, we are born into sin because of the fall of Adam.

You make it seem as if only the sin that we do condemns us to hell, not true.

This is why Jesus was born of a virgin woman & not from a man (sin is carried through the man).
