Amazing. While attending seminary I heard of these sorts of people but did not see to many of them. Now, all we hear of is the tithe. Please tell me, when did Jesus Tithe? Of course he did not, since He did live under the law, He was not required to. Please point out the passages He tithed? You can not, because He did not. No loophole, just an accurate reading of the text. Since Charlamene did not put the tithe into practice until 777 AD, how did the church make it all that time?
The tithing doctrine is one of the easiest to refute. That's why most pastors refuse to have an honest debate on the issue. Rather they choose to attack anyone who dares even question this ridiculous teaching.
Yet the Bible is VERY EXACT about tithes are for the Levite Priest ONLY. and that was not money, nor Gold or Silver,,, and it was given every 3 years not every week. any Preacher or church that collects a tithe is not of GOD. for christ said go and preach the Kingdom of Heaven, freely you have received , freely you shall give, BTW, they are told to also Raise the dead, heal the sick, why are these phony preachers not in every childrens hospital and any funeral homes doing what Christ DEMANDED?
Next time I deliver a city from an evil king and spoil all his goods I will give 10% of the evil king's money to the priest. Oh, and I'll give the other 90% right back to the evil king. I won't even take a sandle for myself. Yeah that works.. just one other thing.. I won't ever do it again. Then everyone can tell others they have to all the time!
Exactly. We are not supposed to be in bondage to tithing which is under law. His Lewis C. Furr name is more accurate than he imagines. Tithing is unscriptural for Christians. Give as the Spirit tells you. It may be more than 10%. Tithing keeps people from seeking God about what to give, and in many cases builds huge dead churches and rich preachers that bring dishonor to God. Preachers manipulate this to buy luxury cars. Poor people should be given TO, not required to become poorer!
