It's because of the low texture flittering setting I used for the run, and after being recorded, it became vague. So in the game it could still be seen clearly. You could also time this video btw. There's no reason for me to lie about the time if I've already done it to a satisfied extent, you know. :)

It's just a roll. But this had better be done at 60 FPS. So FRAPS needs to be switched on to recording mode with a recording framerate of 60. Higher or lower FPS won't do well and it gets quite random.

You're welcome. :) FRAPS does eat up a lot of hardwares' power. High-end CPU, graphics card and hard disks are all necessary for flexible recording. Actually I was also using an old and low-end PC when I did this run. So in fact it was done with recording only the half-size (this reduced the demand on hard disk). But sometimes certian framerates were still impossible to reach.

60 FPS is the best framerate to get this work. Generally, with higher or lower ones, it might not be done. And even though you're on 60, it's still very very unreliable, so it takes pretty much patience.

It depends on which control system you prefer. For me, I never use a controller to play games but I'm quite good at keyboard-mouse control system.

Bonus? Are you referring to Croft Manor or Style Units? If you wanna get in the Style Units, you've got to finish Croft Manor with all artifacts and relics collected and the time trial done as well. The path for Style Units is: Rewards -> Special -> Style Units.

Like I've said, if you can't pass Time Trial, that means you're not fast enough. But speedrun is never the same as TT. For speedrunners like us, I've gotta first finish all the TT's easily without using any tricks or shortcuts. But if you really wanna finish TT by doing it like a speedrun, I suggest taking a look at xRikux89's speedruns for TRA; he's done a lot.

Choosing what kinda weapons to kill it doesn't really matter actually. I prefer the 50 caliber pistols. But if you use standard pistols, I can also finish the time trial (with no shortcuts or glitches). Just ignore the wolves and be as fast as you can; that'll work.

The Lost Valley isn't that hard too. Just ignore all the wolves and that bear as well and be familiar with the route, you will make it. ;) And Qualopec might be even easier imo if your controls are fast-paced enough and you're familiar with the route.

i finished mountain caves on 3:59 and i dont succed time trial...i am so nervous because i want get all speedruns...at least only peru speedruns...

Time Trial is never the same as Speedrun, in which you've gotta play a lot of tricks and shortcuts, but time trial is quite easy to complete. You must select: Play the game -> Replay Level -> Difficulty -> Time Trial (not Easy, Normal or Hard). Then in this mode, you're supposed to see a timer that keeps counting down the time on the screen. Only in TT mode can you make TT say 'Yes'.

One more thing, at the shortcut at the woodden plank, after pulling up from the ledge, you can draw your weapons and perform a sommersault to the opposite site, in order not to have to pull up there again. ;)

It really works well. But it seems easier to handle in Advanced Hold mode; in Toggle mode, it'll take some time to holster the weapon back. But since there's no need to kill any enemy in this lvl, using Advanced Hold to make the run should be fine. :D Thank you. ^^

hah, im lucky, in the psp version if i shoot with toggle mode it will unholster for me, so its like if i had the 2 modes!

Also. I cant seem to to the very first shortcut you do (the left roll one), can you upload a image of the exact position in imageshack[dot]us? (press Print Screen button in you keyboard and press ctrl+v in paint)

On PC, it'll unholster automatically as well if I select Hold. But I didn't like that; I prefer unholstering myself. But since now jardart told me that I can set my middle mouse button as another key for any function I want, I don't get annoyed by any mode now. As for that position, actually, I start it at different point everytime. As long as you can run it at a consistent 60 FPS, you can do it reliably.

Well I haven't done a reliable test to this, it just came to my impression and I always took the left way, as you can easily follow the straight path instead of running in curves. :P

Well, I've done a test for it (it shoule be accurate, I believe). And the conclusion so far comes out that the right route is way faster still， :D cuz the curve that needs to be taken before the straight path is even a bit more curvy if you go the left way. But one thing that should be noticed is that the first swan dive that leads Lara into the low area should be performed as early as possilbe - just like I've showed in the video.
