I've beeen a music lover since I can't remember but hearing Judy Garlands voice was the first time that music knocked me right between the eyes and gave me an almost physical rush. Another great voice with such expressive animal power belonged to Edith Piaf. Give her a listen and see what I mean.

OMG. The mother had stuffed her full of dope but this incredible woman would not be denied. Here at her box-office height. They literally had to categorize Judy Garland apart from the rest, because her movies beat the pants off everyone, yet they were musicals and she could only release one or two a year. My granny told me that, during WWII, everybody couldn't wait for the next Judy Garland movie.

The ones that do have the actual ability to sing are very, very few and far between & hardly get noticed. They all have to conform to the 'american public perception' of that `american idol' standards and guidelines. that's what the hell is the matter with music these days. Idol ? yes - talent ? a resounding NO !!!
