When the un-elected commission (all 27 of which will be millionares when their term ends*) say the EU should spend more money they mean SPEND MORE OF OUR MONEY !
i cant believe the ignorance of some people, "thumb down because it says spend money..." even though i said "dont spend stupidly", you can always make money as a government, i mean fucking seriously, whats the difference between a government doing it an a company, basically the government has to answer to the people, the company doesnt. Shame the government doesnt fear this anymore thats the problem. Also, whoever is against funding and supporting british fishing, fuck you mate.
@donroche wrote "I actually want the Tories to lose"
I am beginning to be more, and more convinced, that this is what Cameron wants (to lose I mean). He knows, if the Conservatives win, and do what's right for the country, he'll then lose the following three elections.
These mandarin bureaucrats completely don't understand that everything you buy is a resource.
So why should credit be any different in their minds, they probably believe it comes out of thin air.
Their regulation only impedes progress.
Even things like Healthcare, The only way to lower price is to create more of it in the market. With more options and solutions/products, costs are driven down.
These fools are only roadblocks and need to read some Milton Friedman.
Get rid of the leadership of the conservative party and put in Daniel Hannan and you would walk this coming election. Unfortunately the Conservatives will struggle to beat the worst government we have had in our history from a taxpayers point of view.

i believe in "you gotta spend money to make money" but only if you spend it correctly (ie not like a dumbass).
Like investing in say the railway system, that gives jobs an income to the nation and so on, investing in the fishing industry again, jobs and income. If you look in history, you see nations like germany and russia doing this kind of thing and getting out of economic problems, it can work, when done right.
Classic with any large government. USA we are spending our selves to hell. Most people here in the US do not want government health care, but our politicians act like we want it even if most of us don't want anything to do with it, "its for our own good you know." It is sickening!

actually from what i have seen even those "against" gov or public option are for it when its explained to them correctly, its missinformation about the healthcare system from the companies and right wingers who suck the company cocks for money lying about shit. (afterall the white house made a pact with the hospitals they give up billions and no pub option, i doubt they would do that unless they think the pub option would be a cheap effective option)
I grew up military health care, government ran health care. Guess what? It sucks!. You get no choice and it costs a tone to maintain. The doctors get payed less. That even means the contracted civilian doctors. It took 5 years of trying to convince the military health system I needed curative surgery. In the private system. This would not have been an issue. There are even liberals here in the US who do not want government ran health care. I know a few of them.
i have never had a problem with the NHS and dont know anyone who has. Though i know alot of people who would never have been covered in the US "system". Hell my cousin who died last year with CF wouldnt have got cover and would have died far sooner in all likelyhood because she is from 1 of the poorest backgrounds of the country. I see the bloody benifits to the poor bastard mate, shame those who claim "it sucks" generally can afford better.

'Weltanschau', I believe. It's German for, approximately, "Worldview" (Welt = world, Anschauen = to view)

@MitchofSmeg The point is you would be able to afford it because the NHS is so crazily inefficient, compared to a private counterpart.
Want your share of the £110,000,000,000 ?
£1700 per year for you.
Not saying I agree, just that's what I gathered was Daniels point.
