and so what if the CCXR has 1018hp and the Veyron 1001? if you had a brain you'd know superior AERODYNAMICS are way more important to reach high top speeds than horsepower

besides VW engineers claim the Veyron has around 1050-1060hp in ideal conditions, probably more

besides the Veyron is LIMITED to 253mph because that's the safe limit for the tires, above that they might shred (killing the driver), de-restricted it might reach 260mph test-drivers have said and no journalist has doubted them

You missed my point! I already know it has a double clutch tranny.. even though they are real manuals, I don't consider them manuals. Hitting some buttons to change gears doesn't qualify as manual in my book. A real drivers car has a shifter, and a clutch PEDAL. Think about it.

well it doesn't qualify as a manual in my book either, but we'd be talking about some really tough clutch and sturdy gearchange, which most people wouldn't be strong enough to handle, you'd have to be a body builder to work the clutch or have it servo operated

besides gear-change wouldn't be lightning quick as it is in a semi-auto like in the Veyron, and that would make it's monumental acceleration be somewhat non-linear

that's why nobody buys automatic gearboxes in all Europe, it's considered to be something for old retired people and taxi drivers who drive all day long

changing the gears oneself is half the pleasure of driving

apparently most test drivers hate the semi-auto on the Lambo Murcielago and urge potential buyers to stick with the manual stick, since it's for men who enjoy driving and getting the change right
