The only good Red Faction game was the first. The rest were poor imitations. No way they're going to make a similar game, willing to bet big on that! 2001 was a good year for games...nowadays companies screw up game quality for more commercial value. It's a damn pity.

Still the best of all the RF games. if anything a remake or direct sequel is in order. The smg being able to use the pistol or rifle rounds was amazing!! and also throwing the flamethrower's gas canister, and of course geomod!...

No. Saint's row is the begining of Ultor. Saints row 2 is where Ultor develops from making sunglasses to being more than meets the eye. Red faction is set 150 years in the future and (from what I gather) is the end of the Ultor Corp. Ultor are kind of a running "Joke" with THQ. they are their Good-Bad guys where a charecter company like that is needed

well in red faction 1 and 2 it was ultor doing crazy experiments that produced the aliens. The EDF are just soldiers whereas ultor could do whatever it wanted.

The first game still has the best storyline

The Plague is caused by a disease Dr Capek created experimenting with Nanotechnology. The aim of RF 1 is to defeat him and cure the miners.

RF2 is set on Earth where Ultor's Nanotech is perfected and used to make armies of Uber Soldiers by the corrupt dictator. The Red Faction on Earth stand against this hostile force and your player, himself an Uber Soldier turned good, must aid them

The "Aliens" are actually mutations from an antagonist named Dr. Capek that had been experimenting on the miners... If I remember correctly. Its been YEARS since I've played this game!

Capek worked strongly on the nanotech "the plague was a bunch of nanobots if I remember that correctly as well".

I'm about to play the game so I'm re-watching/wikipedia'ing the game's stuff. the 2nd game kinda... sucked story wise.

THQ need to start again....make a new RF 2 maybe one where RF and ED forces are fighting Ultor win and end game 2, game 3; ED takes over and as worse than Ultor, end game 3 with over throwing ED, 4th taking the fight to liberate earth from the ED as it takes over. End game by killing the over all commander, in all games there is a slight affiliation with the nano tech from the first game but is never fully addressed., game 5 is the seizingof the nano and RF 2 would fit in.

Good game, too bad I can't get it to work properly on my system. It goes off into Limbo after a couple minutes. I can still pan the view with the mouse, but the mouse buttons and keyboard no longer work. Sometimes it comes back, but usually it just stays in limbo and I have to hit the reset button.

I don't have the PC version of the game but if you have it the audio files might be right there on the CD in wav or mp3 format. Or there might be some way of extracting them.

Maybe you could try contacting the games developer Volition or their publisher THQ. Or you could maybe try to hunt down the email addresses of some of the people that worked on the game and contact them about it.

I think Red Faction is on par with Half-Life. I don't know why the destructible environments didn't catch on after it was released. I remember the first time I played the game and thinking "I bet in a year or two all the new FPS's are going to have this". But it never really happened.

I never played RF2 though. I read that besides taking place in the same universe the two games have little in common.

Actually, the way it's looking now... Red Faction may very well be alot better than Red Faction Guerrilla. Granted, I haven't played it yet, just heard details. I'll be buying it the second it comes out. Time will tell if I will keep playing it though.
