  • おやすみーーーーーーーーーーー

  • Check out my cover of this on my channel :D, love this song

  • just heard this for the first time , fucking beautiful as i exhale the finest mary jane

  • i could have gone to that show. i mean i was only 9 years old at the time, but it would have been possible.

  • i like how youtube suggests otis redding alongside pavement. classics all across the spectrum eh?

  • That chorus riff is probably not only my favourite Pavement riff, but probably even all time favourite.

  • aww man why was i born in 93 fuck..

  • slightly rounder s.y. for sure

  • Malkmus reminding me of a little kinder gentler Thurston Moore style at 3:39

  • This is one of the reasons the last side of Wowee Zowee is the best.

  • Yea Wowee is one of my favorite albums of all time, but the only song that just sounds completely out of place is Western Homes, which not only isnt that great of a song, but makes literally makes no sense as the closer. I think Pueblo would have made an amazing closer.

Though honestly considering how long the album is its amazing that 90% of it is incredible. The only other parts of the album I dont like are the second half of Fight this generation and the last bit of Father to a Sister.

  • those are my two favourties..

  • damn second part of fight this generation makes the song

  • God, I couldn't agree with you more about Fight This Generation. I am considering downloading a Song Editing software program just so I could cut out the second half of Fight This Generations.

  • You don't like the 2nd half of fight this generation? That rocks so hard! Especially live...one of my favorite songs on the album.

  • Yeah Ive kind of changed my tune about that actually. Now I love every fucking millisecond of the album besides the placing of western homes that still bugs the shit out of me

Honestly Half a Canyon into Pueblo would have been an incredible way to end the album.

  • Also I must say that I think the album order is perfect besides the last three tracks.

  • second half makes that song

  • essa banda eh o melhor de indie rock

  • What tuning is this song in? I've always wondered

  • Probably CGDGBB? Malk uses that tuning a lot. Sounds really nice on Gold Soundz especially. Haven't tried to work this one out though.

  • this one is D#A#DFA#D (like Stop Breathin'). Gold Soundz is DADABE (like Summer Babe and many others)

  • i lost cd-2 which has the beach boys pueblo on it... man the amount of times i got wasted and put that on... beautiful!! my fav song at the moment is no tan lines such a happy song about feeling grey lol

  • motion into father = wowee at its finest

  • this is unbelievably good sound and video; and it was recorded well before Wowee was released; what a jewel

  • Pueblo was always a powerful song for me.

What are the lyrics: "When you hit sand, you can buy sand, in this gross land, land ho." Is it about destroying the natives?

  • This brought me back to a flickering moment when Pavement embodied the potential to undermine the media shit machine.

  • YOu Wowee fans never cease to amaze me. I guess I am alone in loving Crooked Rain the best and then Slanted. But I guess I must suck in some way because EVERYONE loves Wowee and I don't see it? (Just wanted to sound off about that ::>

  • I've always loved Brighten The Corners, then Crooked Rain and Wowee Zowee though, the second disc of Zowee in Sordid Sentinels rules imo.

Slanted and Enchanted is cool in many parts --> very sweet low-fi yet a-minor riffs in some songs + a bunch of other things lol.

I don't listen to Slanted as much but I think it'll grow on me ;).

  • I'm with you, if push comes to shove it's Crooked Rain; but that's mostly because they followed up the brilliant, unbelievable Slanted and Enchanted with something at least its equal; but all their albums are great; and all Malkmus solo albums (I mean Jicks) are great, they are all variations, the Malkmus Concertos, #9 came out this year and its the best of all

  • I've listened to wowee zowee more times on random than in order - whether it was "meant" to be played like that or not I don't know - but if there was ever an album that warranted that type of listening preference - it's wowee zowee - still, for all it's weaknesses, it remains my favorite pavement album of all time

  • as a side note; due to the fact that the track order seemed like a puzzle that needed to be solved - I've tried listening to everything in backwards order - and many different programmed combinations - only to find that random shuffle works just as well as anything...

  • even and odd tracks in order with the even numbered ones front to back and odd ones back to front seems to flow quite nicely though [ 2, 17, 4, 15, 6, 13, 8, 11, 10, 9, 12, 7, 14, 5, 16, 3, 18, 1 ]

  • Agreed- Wowee could have been Pavements masterpiece. I think western homes is a great song too.

  • i agree with some of the things you said mcguinty. but i also read once that wowee was meant to be played at random, in any order.

sure it has a couple of throwaways...western homes is pretty worthless. it's still a great record by maybe america's best band ever.

this is one of their very best songs

  • less pot? can those two words be put together? pot doesn't make a band worse whatsoever.

  • Love this song, too bad they didn't axe Western Homes and put this one right after Half A Canyon to end the album. The way the build up to the choruses and then break down after the second one to end the song would have ended the album perfectly. If they would have cut down some of the throwaway songs and kept it to two sides of vinyl instead of 3, it would have been even better. Spiral has said that production was rushed, if only they'd had more time and less pot....

  • Aw, that's what's so good about Pavement: they just did whatever the fuck they wanted. Western Homes is actually a pretty neat song. Maybe not pure melody but it's interesting at least. I'll take that over a pretty but generic song most of the time.

  • Yeah I'll give you that, Western Homes is kind of in the same book as Hit the Plane Down for me: pretty interesting, but more often than not I find myself skipping both of them while listening thru Pavement's albums.

  • Good point. Hit the Plane Down is actually not that interesting, just slow and semi-creepy. But two of Pavement's legitimately great tunes, No Life Singed Her and Conduit for Sale! are full of screaming and I think most people agree that they're great songs.

  • Hit the plane down is one of my faves!

  • Such a great song. <3

  • wowee zowee best record ever

  • that opening guitar puts me in the best mood every time...

  • in my top 3 pavement songs i love the crooked rain version! the crowd suk!! they need 2 reform!!

  • OH MY FUCKING GOD this is so good

  • can you post the rest of this show please i cant seem to download it

  • we dance is the best song of ever and ever

  • Great Pavement

  • Beautiful song, Malkmus & Pavement forever!Franz

  • Ah lovely stuff!

  • a great song from a wonderful album. They were really great, pal!
