  • cpu amd fx 8150, gpu asus hd 6970 2gb, 12gb cohrsair vengeance ram, asus v fourmula. would this be enough to run this game with these mods and maxed out.

  • @Megatronicful Unfortunately the architecture of such an old game is unstable and doesn't scale very well. The only bottleneck is the GPU, MGE is incredibly inefficient (and has no choice). I was getting 20-30 on my 5850.. I think you could probably do 40-60 which is perfectly acceptable.

  • i feel like i'm watching a video of the perfect world game cause of the graphics aand the music

  • are you playing this on windows 7? because every time i play on windows 7 i get a black box that keeps poping up every 4 secconds. if you know how to fix that can you help me cuz i cant find enything that tells me how

  • Sir, there is a tail on your character.

  • I'm already running Morrowind wuth MGE. Guys, it's magnificent. Hellish animation, but THIS RPG is still the best, that's all I can say.

  • Holy tit fuck o-0

  • haha XD snakethefox its tru there is a shadow but no boat see 0:50

  • the graphics look great but lmao dam dat runnin animation! XP

  • а как удочку в руки взять??

  • By the Nine, Im going to buy morrowind and download this mod righ now!

  • Wait, this looks as good as skyrim :O

  • morrowind needs better combat sounds so you can actualy hear it if you hit somebody if you ask me

  • Hey here's a weird question, is it still possible to get these kind of visuals, while still having the water look vanilla? Morrowind's vanilla water always looked really good, imo, something about the MGE water is off-putting to me. Anyway, this looks stunning, thanks if anyone can help!

  • @LovelesOne Yes, you can disable the water effects in MGE. They are highly customizable.

  • @EricMuyser I don't mean to be a pain, but could you tell me how to just keep the water vanilla, is it in the distant land setup?

  • 20-35 fps with such rig? the fuck

  • @Dramzul

He's recording with fraps. It kills the framerate ;)

  • @TheGorrack Not by THAT much! Fraps only takes off at max about 20-30 fps when you're recording. This means he barely manages to keep a stable 60 fps on a game that is almost 10 years old. Somethings not right.

  • @TileWonder

What do you expect from a ten year old engine looking like this? It's being pushed over it's limits, all these graphical mods are super heavy on system resources because of the game's old engine. He probably has vsync enabled too.

  • that looks really nice ty for showing

  • Morrowind>Skyrim

  • The original is better IMHO.

The bad graphics are not "bad", they are old. for what the game is they are perfectly fine. The old graphics gave and still give a nostalgic feel to the game.

  • Wait wait wait, 0:50, where's the boat?

  • @SnakeTheFox its the boat you came in, there shouldn't be any reflections there, i have a crate reflection there not the whole boat. not sure why

  • It doesn't look better than Skyrim, but it has higher-resolution texture :D

  • Anti-Alaising?

  • what? it looks better than skyrim THATS IMPOSSIBLE

  • @PWNAGE2031 better than skyrims graphics?.... thats soo wrong!

  • .......um, disturbing. Watching an Argonian bash a crustacean bloody while this nostalgic music is playing in the background. The music just doesn't go and the graphics just....I dont know, don't feel right. Just keep it true to its roots.

  • HD MorrowinD > Skyrim > Oblivion

  • Hey... I need this MOD!

  • @DJAlligatoah I LOVE MORROWIND

  • 0:41 the reflection of an invisible ship :P

  • doesnt matter what you do to the graphics, argonians will always run like spazzies in this game xD

  • Can we please have an Elder Scrolls where we can go to Atmora, I've always thought the Nord stuff was best, maybe it's just cause I'm German.

  • @d3ltadrive skyrim is nord..........

  • @LulzMania

    seriously, dragons?

  • @d3ltadrive lol nord has nothing to do with germany! It's vikings, and they aren't even nationalistic (except for the stormcloaks)

  • I hope I like it after playing Skyrim

  • dude, what the hell? so many people asking what the song playing is called, why won't you answer? o_O

  • @notthere83 because I already did, and YouTube put it in the description (on the right). In any case, I've edited the description for yall.

  • @EricMuyser oh... my bad, must have missed that reply. sorry.

  • @notthere83 are you retarded, honestly?

  • @aartbastiaan22 are you an asshole, honestly?

  • @notthere83 now I was being serious here and that is inappropriate.

  • Sick!? are you stupid use the English language correctly or be classed as an A Class retard

  • *looks at the water*

Crysis? Nah, never heard of it...

  • The resolution on this ding dong is SAAACK!!

  • Wow. I just replayed Morrowind in early 2011 with a huge graphic enhancement pack who's been put offline since. I thought it made the game look amazing. I'm now shocked and wondering what it might look like 5 years from now if the community keep going. Though I agree that it radically alter the "alien" feel of the place, I'm amazed by just how deep it can be tweaked - that's not just Morrowind with grass and lightning, it feels like an other game.

  • @mouche621621

That mod pack you speak of was taken offline because the various individual mod creators threatened the guy who did the compilation with legal action. I think the community is still improving it...

  • @voianhemsed I know, poor guy was just trying to do good, but I can understand the modders' reaction. Good to learn it might be still in the works though, I'll take a look at Nexus.

  • 3:30 LOL is he dancing with he crab or something????

  • That mudcrab looks devilish!

  • SHIT! I HATE ATI GRAPIC V CARDS!!.. im on it aight now.. crap,,

  • We're watching you, scum.

  • The graphics/animations, Npc AI and combat system were the major flaws in this game, but other than that 9/10 Morrowind has always been, and always will be, one of the best games made.

If you have tried this game and think it is bad somehow, download mods for the game, there are countless mods for both morrowind and oblivion.

I would have given it 10/10 but i know everything can be improved upon, like having less cliffracers.

  • @5um4one but isnt npc ai combat system graphics the main part in RPG?

  • damn you have alot of graphic mods

  • Can someone tell me if this looks better than oblivion? Because it kind of does.

  • seems legit

  • Great graphics, but theres no need to alter an amazing and classic game like this in anyway.

  • @Heroictunes I disagree. The improvements over the original game graphics are quite major, makes the game more enjoyable IMHO

  • where i can to download this mod?

  • It's amazing how, with a few mods, a game from 2002 can look better than a game from 2006.

  • i dont have a PC that could run this game but would it be worth picking up on amazon for the xbox?

  • @BobbyVB77

LOL, don;t bother. Looks like shit on the xbox

  • @BobbyVB77 Dude I have it for xbox. It is not good on xbox unless you try being a spell user then it might be alright but the combat system is terrible (this is all my opinion remember)

  • You know a game is great when people play it almost 10 years later and upgrades the shit out of it, you sure are amazing and this guide has brought me fully back into the morrowind province.

  • yeah sure skyrim has better game mechanics and graphics but its normal technology is progressing. If we compare in terms of the feeling when I first played each game I'd say Morrowind is the one that took the most hours of my life xD theres just a wealth in Morrowind that was kinda left behind when Bethesda game studios simplified Skyrim for the new players and that's why, in my opinion, Morrowind is the best of the series :)

  • ghost ship there...

  • wow ... looks even better than overhaul

  • And why dont you have actual morrowind music in the background? would suit it much better

  • I think it was the previous graphics that made the game what it is.. I mean yes back then they were considered amazing but due to them not being as good as the likes of oblivion it makes it more... magical

  • @Flowerthevase Same I wouldnt like oblivion if not for its buggy gameplay dunno why.

  • cant wait for qarl's texture pack for skyrim and MMM for skyrim and ofc oscuro's skyrim overhaul :D

  • Tonight I have a headache

  • best game ever

  • @27cmlang skyrim is waaaay better, nuff said, dont even try to argue with it

  • @Tele3champion Uh huh, to you it's better. Not to him and me, and many others.

  • @Sceptorful fuuuuu you owned me there, anyway....Merry Christmas Youtube Commenter dude

  • @Tele3champion Haha, no but Skyrim is great. Merry Christmas to you to!

  • @27cmlang The only thing I hate about morrowind is the retarded combat system. It gets me pissed off to hit someone 100 times and to only have hit 6 times that done about 3 damage.

  • best game ever is Skyrim

  • @manupenta4 Excuse I think you meant to say Morrowind. No problem though, it's a rookie mistake.

  • What's the Music

  • The graphics look good...but you move the mouse too jerkily for someone trying to show us the views. Think more like a camera man and less like a gamer for this kind of video.

  • Other than the short draw distance, vanilla Morrowinds landscapes and buildings still look ok, even now 10 years later. But the character sprites look really bad with low quality faces (easy to ammend) and clunky robot like bodies (not so easy to ammend).

  • looks good but it seems to have lost some of the "alien" feel of the place, dont you think? all the green reminds me too much of the imperial region maybe

  • @Pasteldqueijo I agree, that's the trees they added. You can skip the trees during the installation of the mod. I got much Better FPS without it anyway

  • @Pasteldqueijo the imperial provence was better then the whole of morrowind

  • @Pasteldqueijo the bad graphics gave feel to the game. it was like....you t hought you saw dust and fog and crap but it was just bad graphics.... XD

  • this video is making my magicka not regenerate.

  • this game along with all elder scrolls looks really good. the reason i dont like them is cuz the combat is so bad. they focused on combat a lot for skyrim and even that is shit to me

  • @pacrox2

True. I always thought the graphics were fine, even in Morrowind. It's the faulty physics (like jumping and staying in the air for 3 seconds) and combat system that needed the most work. Skyrim I'd say is a big improvement, but it still pales in comparison to what it could be. Dark Messiah is a good example of combat done right, even though it too isn't perfect.

  • go get the boots of blinding speed ^^

  • This is nice and all, but thats not Vvardenfell. Vvardenfell is a dark, gloomy, war-torn island covered in ash and sludge where there exists no happiness. Having the game like this would kind of ruin that atmosphere.

  • did u mod the music to ? because its beautifull relaxing really helps me studying my exams !

  • Somebody should do something about that asshole who goes around shooting people in the knee.

  • Very amazing Video. Is this music from morowind?

  • There are some nice environments with this MGE although somelook ugly

  • nice to see combat is still the same. Dice roll ... how many swing to kill a mud crab?

  • ARROW TO THE KNEE...I GOT A ARROW TO THE DICK SO FUCK YOU !

  • @mjs5000 Not funny.

  • Yup folks. It's not your mind playing pranks on you, the game really looked that bad...

  • this is sad ;(

  • Is it a good ideia for someone who never played Morrowind or should I stick with the old graphics?

  • with or without mods still a great game

  • The guy playin is a moron.. he is walking in circles the first 2 minutes

  • I would love to have another Adventure here...........but i took an arrow to the knee!

  • At the beginning.A reflection? With no boat.....GHOST BOAT!!!

  • never actually got to play this :(

  • i hope they make a skyrowind mod or a skyroblivion mod!

  • @CRYOmine

    What about Skyroblivowind?

  • meh morrowind normal grpahics seems better then oblvions to me

  • @coolsnape :O

  • @CRYOmine oblvion is to cartoony

  • @coolsnape yeah i agree. it looks like it came right out of a story book. where as morrowind has a bit of edge :)

  • is there still people who only play morrowind?

  • @beauzxcvb I do, started playing again 2 weeks ago, damn is it good.

  • 0:41 lol you can see the boat XD

  • I don't get all this circlejerking over Morrowind. I mean it's a good game but it's dated. Oblivion was alright, Shivering Isles made it. Skyrim is practically near perfect; with flaws here and there. Skyrim's combat is good, it's leveling and character customization is good, it's immersive, and it's just fun to play. The only problem I can really find with it is that the guild/faction quest arcs tend to be somewhat short, and enemies lack variety.

  • @PeopleR2sensitive gameplay wise, yeah oblivion and skyrim beat morrowind, but atmosphere and immersion wise, morrowind wins. go to balmora, join the thieves guild, and watch how half the town likes you more and the other town nearly hates you. notice how there are certain bars you wont go to because everyone there hates you. thats a fantastic element i havent seen in any newer elder scrolls.

also, the bartering system is the best of any elder scrolls game, hands down.

  • all old games need this and if there is a disagreement don't argue just play the old version with no mods

  • in three when you leveled up your acrobatics it showed....and when you became a vampire....that was it you was a tank....what the hell happened in oblivion and skyrim the vampires blow ass in both of em...at least in morrowind you felt like a bad ass when you became one...although the werewolves in skyrim are pretty cool!!!....the ones in morrowind were bad ass too.....also in this one you could leap up and over gates to get out of towns and citys.....not in four or five though....why?

  • nice if only i had morrowind

  • Now if we could only get that at 60+ fps. It shall never be...

  • Too bad the animations are still terrible.

  • it's funny how in 20 years people will be making videos about morrowind with extreme graphics.

  • @Lootraevefan people already are... i think you meant skyrim? XD

  • Jeebus Christ I wish I had a gaming computer.

  • It's pretty easy to "level wrong" in Skyrim, too. Early on I ground my character's smithing to 100 and got to level 18 while I was in starter gear with combat skills in the 20's.

Needless to say, I had to set the difficulty on "novice" for a while.

  • 0:48 GHOST SHIP!!

  • this is really beautiful link?

  • damn those shaders are killing your framerate :( I tend only to use the subtle hdr one

  • man this video is hard to masturbate to

  • And yes, I used mods to achieve Skyrim's leveling system in Morrowind and Oblivion, although I remember the Morrowind one didn't even have levels. They were just simulated to get the game's level based encounters working.

  • I don't think Morrowind was significantly better, but it was the first. I still remember that feeling after exiting the house at the beginning, and going all "ok, now what", and then my mind was just blown - the music, the villagers just walking around, the trees, the water, and that same feeling again when you realize the size of the game area and just how much time you could spend there. I miss that feeling, now it's just something I expect from Elder Scrolls games.

  • its... so beautiful... :'D

  • Comment removed

  • I don't like using graphics mods for older games like morrowind. Part of the appeal of older games for me is the nostalgic feel I get from playing them. This feeling is undermined by mods that attempt to update what honestly doesn't need to be updated.

If i want sweet graphics, I'll play a modern games. Retro games should remain retro

  • @Ironzealot7531 That's all well and good in theory. The problem I have with that is when you sit down and try to play an old 3D game like Morrowind, you don't remember the graphics being so bad. That's because they weren't when you first played it. Your imagination was happy to fill in the blanks, and your memory fills in details for you. When I go back and play it, it feels like I'm ruining my memories, which felt almost life-like until I start creating new ones with noticed lack of detail.

  • @EricMuyser so you just tend to forget things thats it ^^

  • @EricMuyser It's the same thing with me when I play hf 2

  • @EricMuyser

OMG a smart comment in youtube ^^

  • @Ironzealot7531 That's not to say I can't enjoy vanilla Morrowind. I feel the modded experience is more in tune with my initial playthrough (I thought the graphics were amazing back in 2002). My mind simply remembers more detail than existed, and with mods I can represent the game how I remember it (even if incorrect). 2D tile-based games do not apply, because that is limited technology and we don't associate those graphics with real life (unlike 3D). They are unique, an art, and are timeless.

  • @EricMuyser I would like to be able to switch between both but these mods are making Morrowind look really "alive" when it normally looks bleak and dead but i sitll wanna get these

  • @EricMuyser

The thing is, graphics were great on my 17" CRT monitor, but now with 24"+ widescreen monsters, the textures look just too low res. About the new games, like oblivion and skyrim, well, they do have awesome graphics, but the gameplay feels lacking to me. I got nothing with older games with more up to date graphics and same awesome gameplay :)

  • @Ironzealot7531 The only mod I'll ever use is the view distance mod. Other than that, everything MUST be the same. I don't care if the graphics are old, it's the way it was when I played when I was 13/14 and it's how I play it now. Skyrim is supppper awesome n' all. But still doesn't do what Morrowind did for me.

  • @Ironzealot7531 I never really thought of Morrowind as 'retro', especially not in terms of how it looks. It was ugly even for it's time, people were clamoring over each other with the CS trying to scrub it up, and this seems to be the eventual outcome of that goal. Some people (depending on their age I suppose) see it as a sacred retro game. People like me find it impossible to see it that way (1 console generation old).

  • @Ironzealot7531 i agree with you almost completly. your first play through the game should be vanilla, so you know what the game was like for people who played it when it first came out. then on your second play through use mods and shit to make it pretty and add functionality.

although, with morrowind, there are quite a few mods that just make the game better, stright up. i wouldnt fault people for using them right away.

  • @Ironzealot7531 I always feel like I'm stumbling around in the dark without at least a distant land mod on. The close fog is completely disorienting now. It's funny, I don't remember that ever bothering me back in the day.

  • @Ironzealot7531 well said :D

  • @Ironzealot7531 Coolstorybro?

  • @Ironzealot7531 And why are you posting this on a video about a graphics mod? If we're watching this, we're obviously interested in the mod, if you're not, then just don't download it. I don't see the problem here.

  • @Ironzealot7531 Then don't download it then. Nobody is putting a gun to your head.

  • @Ironzealot7531 - I personally like MGE to see what the modding community is truly capable of, and to see how far I can push my GPU. The choice is there at least, so If you'd like to keep the old graphics, you can. I love the fact that you can choose any resolution :)

  • @Ironzealot7531 I understand where you're coming from. All those old games I love are always going to be classics, and they were because they were designed excellently. Good graphics does not make a good game (hell, I play Tetris and Minesweeper enough to know that). If the game is good, then a little tweaking of the graphics can only make it better if nothing else was changed.

  • @Zeithri Skyrims story line is actually interesting for me :/

  • Dear Bethesda

Remake morrowind on the Skyrim engine or i will rape you. From, Me and everyone else

  • @EpicMonkeyGaming Rumors say that an future expansion of skyrim might open up some of Morrowind

  • These comments are absolutely full of nolstagics xD

I found Skyrim to be far better than Oblivion; havent played Morrowind, and although it would run well on my poor PC, from an outside perspective the combat looks awfully sluggish, and Bethesda have made many improvements over the years.

Reminds me of the review I saw of some guy thinking Portal 2 was terrible compared to Portal. Rose Tinted Glasses takes control.

  • its funny how in ten years people will be making videos about skyrim with extreme graphics

  • @KILLERSQIURREL56 people have already made mods calling it extreme graphics.... community is fast 0.o

  • @KILLERSQIURREL56 if we dont blow ouselves up by then

  • @KILLERSQIURREL56 Yeah try within the first 10 days. Lol.

  • @KILLERSQIURREL56 In 10 days you mean. ENB series is already posting video's of advanced effects. People forget that consoles today are a long way behind.

  • @KILLERSQIURREL56 it would look like... real
