That was a great kick 5way combo on the 14. I've done a kick 2 way combo, its not easy, you have to be dead on with the right amount of speed with the CB:)
I watched the 3 instructional videos that precede this. What's really cool is that, just on the spur of the moment, these guys can fool around and just run 120 balls like it's nothing!! I think the real truth is that these guys are really WAY BETTER even than they seem in competition, because, with no pressure, like here, they can just play their best game. IOW, to play as good as they do in competition you actually have be even BETTER in practice.
I'm sorry to sound negative in any way, but the 12 was a dead combination and Johnny knew it :)
Learning to read the stack and to see dead combinations is one of the first things I learned to do playing straight pool and I believe all top straight pool players know how to read the stack for any dead combinations, in case they need an extra insurance ball :)
I met Nick and Johnny at the WPC in Cardiff '03, they're both gentlemen & it's great to see 2 Hall of Famers promoting the game together.
