That is really cool. I don't recall ever seeing an explanation HOW the tail feathers make the sounds. Sort of chops the air like an old mechanical siren.
@azNephi over the past several years I have personally worked with all of these species in the field. So, the feathers are from my field work. Hummingbirds are protected by law; in order to do my research, I apply for research permits from government agencies, such as the US Fish & Wildlife Service (for species in the US)
