Hi, I bought a Arriflex BL camera from Ebay and I want to test it, but I dont know what to do to make it work. I dont have a battery; but I do have battery cords. Do you know what kind of battery it takes to run it? On my camera it has a Multisync 505 as a motor. Theres a cord that goes to the Multisync and the other end has a 4 pins connector and theres another cord that I think its an XLR 4 pins.
This looks great! What lens where you using? Looks like a wide angle prime. Was it a bayonet or standard mount lens? I'm thinking of getting a camera like this myself, but I'm looking for quality lenses. Anyway, thanks for posting this. Can't beat that film look.
The wide was a Carl Zeiss wide angle prime lens, standard mount. It's very nice! The camera was lovely, but very noisey. I've got an Arri BL now, which is superb.
The BL is lovely, and you can fit both standard and bayonet lenses to the same mount. It's got a bit of a whir to it, but with a good rifle mic it's not a problem.
It was transfered on the Spirit Telecine, 1-light. Only basic colour correction. The film got a bit dusty on a film viewer beforehand, but could have been cleaned for a pristine neg. Nothing to do with the S/B. Lovely camera, but noisey!

Oh, I should mention that the Zeiss was only used for the last half of the film. The other one I can't recall at the moment!

@78jpk Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I wouldn't plan on using an Arri S for sync sound anyway. The Arri BL looks like a fine camera.

It's a good test. I liked it very much. The color es very good. Did you do color correction?
Why is the film too dirty? Is it a problem from the camera? Do you own the camera? I have this camera. It's a wonderful camera.
Thanks
