  • thats not fretless

  • @sadchad1 accually it is. those "frets" you see are white markers that are inlayed into the fingerboard.

  • Dude you rock! and your bass face kills. Nice one.

  • Were are you getting these basses from that don't exist?

  • How did you modify this bass? Its very badass.

  • Thanks , I just added the proper nut, bride, and pickups G

  • cool

  • This makes me think of Primus

  • Thanks, but, it kinda makes me think of someone who should practice more at bass.

  • Yes.

  • This guy is showing originality and technique. The ratings show 141 thumbs down and only 71 up. That result is pathetic and means nothing

  • Thanks

  • Hey Thanks!

  • Nice work dude! Nice riff and ingenuity on that bass! You need a video showing that bass off! Gratz

  • Hey thanks!

  • whered you get that bass and how much was it

  • Its just a 5 string fender squire that I converted to a 6 string myself.

  • is that something the common person like me could do cause i've always wanted a 6 string jazz bass but the only ones i find are high end custom models over 2000 and that new fender steve bailey 6

  • YOu could do it!

  • Sweet mate...I would love to see ( since you are the only guy i know)...to do a primus cover...you have the power...and the tone, and the BASS to do a les claypool...tribute?? We would love it....cheers mate.

  • Well thanks Les Claypool is very good!. Peace

  • Thanks GrantSmithBass! You are much better a player than me, I've seen your videos. I know you could do something awesome in the primus area also!

  • oh, cheers mate.! Back in the day I had like DMV and The awakening down etc...would have to try remember all them cool ideas again...ha he. G

  • this is the most funny player ive seen in a long time

  • Thank you, glad you dig the bass face.

  • Nice playing... but your facial expressions scare me a little

  • Oh cmon, leave your tea party for a little bit, my bass face never hurt anyone.

  • 2 stars?! C'mon guys this isn't that bad...

  • nice soundfs

  • wow thats awsome

  • Fender has rendered themselves obsolete.Players must convert a bass in order to have a six string bass because Fender refuses to put out a six.

  • They do have one now, but its a sig model and is like $2500 bucks

  • I own a TWB63 six string bass made by a company called Tune.Unfinished natural ovangkol body,24k gold hardware,excellent tone.Only $800.00!

  • cool,but it isn't a fender...

  • Sure it is, its a fender squier! I'd take my modified six string over any american fender anyways. Peace

  • actually, i have a squire fretless like this and i refuse to refer to it as a squire bass because if it didnt say "Squire" on the head, nobody ever would have guessed that it is one. its that good of a bass.

  • how do you convert a bass to six string?

  • Very carefully, the main this is your neck width at the nut has to be within range for the extra string. I just wont work right with every bass neck.

  • so yours was originaly a 5string?

  • Yes

  • Hi, How goes it, yes I guessed it was either a squire, though yamaha do a five string similar at a glance, im a musician of 30 somethin years and still work professionally,

but in the last ten have worked as a luthier so am now building basses as well, i can send you some pics of my basses if you are interested, i build bodies, necks pre amps, pick ups which are our winds, if you want to try a pre amp we would be happy to send you a pre amp to try, any way nice bass, sounds cool

  • its a chinese made instrument by erquest oem, pickups, all attack, heheheheh, cool for prob 130 bucks us

  • Wrong iw2kyd! Its a fender squier. The body n neck r made in Indonesia and I have installed upgraded bartolini pickups and tone circuit. With bridge, nut, knobs, n tuner modifications brings this bass up past $1000

  • it looks like it has seveven string pegs

  • Nope. Just a 6er!

  • never seen a six string fender before. it looks damn good.

  • chocolate raiiin

  • dude where did you get your bass?

  • I had to make it since fender does not make a 6 string fretless jazz bass.

  • They do now.

  • i like that you are using powerchordes. it sounds awsome on a 6 string

  • Ya, thanks. Actually its power double stops.

  • okey. but i like the sound. it would make and awsome song

  • this is cool.

  • Thanks.

  • dude, you're like, totally breaking the fourth wall man

  • Ya my tone breaks walls B!

  • Nice conversion.

I've always thought that Fender should make a 6-string Jazz bass...That I would finally own one then.

  • funny face

  • dude ur guitar face owns

  • thanks I guess

  • haha, your response made that interaction very funny. "thanks I guess" lol!

  • it'd kinda suck if he wasn't making a face.

  • That's a nice aggressive sound from the battery dying out. It's always interesting to experiment with things like that for effect, though this would have much more time restraints on it.

  • You can deliberately get this effect any time, buy powering your effect with a Walmart selecteable voltage adapter/converter plug.

  • That bass has a shiny neck

  • can't wait till my batteries run out!! lol

  • hey man, nice vid. i have a question, i'm about to get the bass you're playing, i geuss it's a squire fretless and i just wanted to know if it's any harder to play like, do you ever miss notes if your finger isn't placed in the right place?

  • No, but your getting the five string, the string are further apart on that then this one that I have made into a 6 string.

  • Dude, its a yes. You need to be pretty accurate with your fingers to get a decent sounding pitch. Just like a double bass.

  • No you just think about what you want to play and you magicaly play it perfectly you never ever miss a note on a fretless

  • I play six string bass...got some vids too.

  • Yes, and I've seen them. You are a fantastic soloist and player.

  • is this the squier vintage modified?

  • No. It's the fender squier deluxe active jazz 5 which I've converted to a 6 string.

  • Is this a Bart 4.6?

  • Yes it is.

  • It sounds pretty good, even for being almost dead. How do you like the tonal options the preamp gives? The reason I ask is because I'm looking to put a 4.6 in my Rockbass, but I can't find much info on the barts.

  • It is fantastic. I highly recommend it or the aguilar.

  • roarrrrrrrr! nice man! sounds great, pretty matal!

  • Ok. Thanks.

  • Haha this sound is just the preamp being underpowered? Funny stuff.

  • That sounds neat.

Tay Zonday pwns, but cherry chocolate rain was overdone. I like internet dream more than chocolate rain original.

  • nice bass, nice playing but u look kinda creepy

  • Thanks!

  • is that a washburn hammerhead in the background, cause if so i have the same 1

  • It is an ESP LTD 6 string.

  • he kinda looks like bono especially on 00:08

  • i totally agree

  • All hail the dying battery song!!! 5/5 just cuz I did the same thing when I found my 9V pick up battery dying one day ... nice growly, distorted, death throw tone!

  • ... we must make some switch to divide the battery's tension , to get this tone when we want to !

should be funny ! nice tone

  • LoL! Thanks!

  • it reminds of bowser music from a mario game

  • OMG???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Davcom. I think Tay zonday is annoying but the piano is catchy. I do homemade modifications to old/used instruments. Please write to chat about your 6string conversions. I liked the distortion riff.

  • so thats what happens when you run out of batteries! - (im so getting an active bass...)

  • This bass has passive mode by pulling up on the volume pot.

  • w8 im sry. but wht is a fretless bass? because i see frets separated by the metal lines. help me out, i play guitar, not bass

  • It doesn't have frets, those lines are markers either embedded in the fingerboard or painted on. The fingerboard is smooth so it's possible to play incorrect pitches if you don't play on the markers.

  • the markers are more of a guideline, the actual position around them varies depending on intonation.

  • Exactly.

  • Youre face is funny :D

  • wow, this makes me wanna play the bass guitar even more.

  • Cool fingerboard. Great.

  • Cool fingerboard. Fretless rules!

  • is it just me, or is that not the shiniest bass you have ever seen!? ^^

  • It is!

  • actuallymy friend got a bass 4 like 40 buks, and the previous owner clearcoated everything, lol, even the pickups,it was descusting, but very shiny!

  • Nice looking bass guitar dude!

  • Thanks!

  • Great!! your bass is so pretty man

saludos desde la peninsula iberica!! ((spain))

  • Thanks!

  • I would kill to have that guitar. You should check out some of my bass videos!

  • Oh ya? Thanks! Ok.

  • That scale at the end was nice :)

  • Alright thanks!

  • I love ur bass...how did u convert it. awesome playing btw i like the sound of a fretless

  • Thanks. I had to drill an extra hole in the heastock and fashion a new nut and add a new bridge.

  • u dident have to get bigger pickups?

  • Yes, I did. The bartolini 69J pickups are taller than the 5 string cort pickups that originally came with this bass.

  • Nice sound and bass line :D

  • Hey thanks sir!

  • are the chords your playing inversions? Sounds pretty sick!

  • No they are just root fifth. Thanks.
