You should try one of Japanese pastimes, onsen. Perfect for this season. A friend of mine from US loved Korakuen Hotel in Atami where Tokyo Giants have season ending party every year. The price is very reasonable.

sadly i only had 2- i did and organized tour and i felt i saw a goooood chunk- but all the travelling to and from and between wore me out and when you are short on cash and time you only have so many options
