Am I the only one that thinks scaling back on education and medicare would be a good idea? I mean have we looked at how much we spend on education and get virtually no improvement. Not to mention medicare where we pour billions a year into a wasteful bureaucracy that strips competition from the healthcare system and leads to sky rocketing costs and more deficits. O and dont tell me the rich need to pay their share. They are the only share at this point. half the people dont even pay taxes?

Reagan in fact raised the debt ceiling 18 times under his presidency and GW Bush did it 7 times, yet we never heard a peep about it. This is about effectively killing Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. In other words further burdening the poor and middle class, so that the wealthy can gain even more. His policies over the last 2 1/2 years did the opposite of what he promised. He increased spending by 84% and grew government only to create an even larger debt. So Obama must take the blame for taking a bad situation and making it worse. Government spending is out of control and neither party is proposing much to fix it.

@panjok2 Both parties are indeed poison, nevertheless, what programs do you want the Government to cut? Gas subsidies? Grain subsidies? Entitlements? Military? What about closing tax loopholes or targeting companies like GE who is an expert at avoiding taxes? They earned some 14 billion in 2010, paid no federal taxes, received 3.5 billion in tax benefits, and moved 10% more of its work force overseas.

@athiestsbane how about bringing our troops home and using them to get ride of illegal immigrants or the money at least! I read about GE and how the head of GE is the same ones who were part of the team that wrote the tax laws and they made more last year because of it by not taxing profits made of out of the country so they moved it all out of country! We need to stop that crap and stop paying to raise illegal immigants and their kids as a start! We prob both agree on alot of issues!

@athiestsbane I am sick of both parties because they both work for different crooks and that is the only true fight going on here! Ron Paul I believe is the only one who is really out for the country itself! The rest are in it for re-election or whoever they are in bed with! You know it is all crooked or they wouldnt attack Ron Paul at every debate and the media wouldnt try to make him look bad! I believe he would change things for the better! It would be tough at first but we would be be better
