@aBetterOpinion It's funny, guitar hero drums got me into drums, and i play a real kit quite wel, but as a side effect I got worse at playing gh drums...probably because the hi-hat is on the wrong side and the crash isn't at the top left where I prefer it...also, it's harder to figure out where you're going wrong when your drums don't make a noise.

Of course the notes arn't always correct given you have different sized drum kits. The GHWT kit is a 6 piece kit, so if a song is played on a 7 or 8+ kit then notes are doubled up. It's basicaly the same.

In this example (The kill) You only require the 6 items. Snare, 2 toms, bass, hi-hat and crash.

It's apples and oranges. This is a GAME. Playing dums "In reel life" is a whole other animal. But the fundamental basics ARE the same.

Limb independance is the root.

Take in to account that the game requires you hit the correct notes. Playing the song for real doesn't. It's called impovisation.

The notes aren't always right. A drum kit with a high hat, 1 cymbal, a snare, 2 toms and a bass is a terrible kit. As a result, playing songs on this game on Expert makes it unrealistic if the song requires any more than the given drums.

I do agree with you that playing real drums would be so much more fun but you have to take into account the time and money needed for a good set, the space needed in the house, and if you just want to have a good time then you can play guitar hero world tour or rock band and be fine with that.

You can also have fun that way if you do a little bit of improvisation and don't play like a robot. If you're serious about the score maybe not but if it's just for fun then sure.
