Great Bix solo...and how he leads the brass is just stunning! BTW this is about the scarcest Goldkette 78 with Bix of the commercially issued sides...the original had a very small pressing run.
Goldkette was French, but born in Patras Greece and bought up in Greece and Russia, before emigrating to US in 1911.He had a Frech accent when speaking English
Beautiful bouncy fox. Interesting how the lively orchestra goes almost silent when the singing takes place. And Goldkette doesn't sound like a Greek name --was his father German (or Jewish)?
D., I don't know anything about his parents. The name "Goldkette" sounds a little loike a humorous self-parody and it's possible that Goldkette - whose real name could be Gold or any similar version - made it up for artistical reasons. In my available sources I didn't find more beyond what I wrote.
Recorded on January 28, 1927, featuring a great Bill Challis arrangement, a unique vocal by "Nan", "Taddy", and Frank- and a memorable solo by Bix Beiderbecke at 2:24. One of the finest of the Goldkette sides...

Records of the period are a bit sketchy at best. One source claims his birth as
1899, and that he came to the USA from France. ??

Thanks Corrie! Keller Sisters and Lynch are my favourities among vocal groups of the Roaring Twenties.

It is true what Barbcard says, it is a very interesting mix of talents Goldkette, Keller sisters and Lynch and the big big Bix!

Jazzy, very lively melange of styles. I would never have guessed that was a Bix solo.
