@AtomicE77 check out eBay... There's heaps. Just make sure you get the 1985 original version and check with the seller that it still works... They had a massive fault with a lot of them. Actually run the company out of business in the end.
I wasn't around when these things came out, but I feel like I should buy one just for the fact of it's significance in video game history as Nintendo was unable to get the NES in stores without it.
@jeraldr1111 Nintendo used Worlds Of Wonder's already established distrubtion outlet to distribute the NES system to stores in 1986 (the year the NES went nationwide).
My sister had the whole set of dolls, videos, clothes, you name it. I'll never forget the look of horror on her face when Teddy's nose suddenly fell off while it was singing. A long silence followed, then a shriek from the depths of hell erupted from her mouth. Good times. Still, I'm surprised Teddy isn't as popular now as he was then.
My mom recorded this commercial when it came out in '86-prob what made me want a teddy. the mouth broke off of mine, too, helped along by our dog then.
When I first saw that commercial back in 1986, it reminded me of my toddler days when my then-recently divorced parents would entertain me with puppets. At 10 years old, tears always filled my eyes....
I should clarify, my parents had divorced a short time before this commercial came out, not my toddler days. Thought I'd clear up any possible confusion.
Well, it's now 20 years later, and I'll admit, I still do wonder what might have been. But I also know that for myself, I'm engaged to someone who, along with me, will do whatever we can to make sure our children aren't put through the same thing.
Wow, that's harsh man, I was one of the lucky ones whose parents weren't separated by divorce(death is bad enough but it's almost easier to deal with than divorce). I hate seeing the ideals and promises made behind a marriage fall apart like this =(
Hanako: Agreed. I too have felt the pang of divorce and no matter how many years pass or how old one gets, there will always be a sliver of hurt due to the event.

They were called Fobs, and I think they were just hand puppets.

I wanted those Fob puppets even more than that bear.

It's been a good 10 years, (I'm 12 now) but I think those birds were called Fobs or something. I don't remember toys of
them back when I was 2 or 3.
