Yes, .....Jack is actually murdered....you have to see the entire film. The irony of the whole thing is that is Heath who dies in reality...leaving Jake grief stricken--to this day, I don't think Jake has ever talked about this loss on camera. Please, watch the whole film...you'll be glad you did.

how can a story get any better than this... i don't see why people criticize it so. no one should be told they can't love, and movies should express these feelings more often. the gender does not matter as long as there is love.

I do not care what sexual orientation a person is, there is no way brokeback mountain cannot be identified as one of the greatest love stories to be read in short story and then viewed on film...there is no way that any one of us cannot absolutely relate with being in love with that one person in our lives...this vid is eloquent in display....capturing that intensity with beautiful,emotional music!!!
