Theres a lot I would have liked from this that I didn't see, (A camera facing the user and more importantly the ability to use an image editor as powerful as Photoshop) but I think I'm gonna buy the 32gig without the 3G anyway, and hang onto it 'till what I want gets put in the next gen. It may not have a camera but it at least has a decent finger painting app. Which I suppose will do for now.

I will say though that this video is terrible and that guy kind of creeps me out. Lol his face @ 2:16

im kind of mad they arent making a different app store for the ipad applications because its just gonna slow it down for people on their iphones and ipod touches. and another thing is that it must be impossible to type on.. tablet PCs have keyboards for a reason :P the guy typing couldnt even fit his thumb on the screen to press the spacebar. and you always have to rest it on your legs like they did when you type, but what if your on a plane? or anywhere else that theres no room to do that?

LoL I am liking this new birth in the Ipod family. I didnt waste money on any of that other crap, i think its stupid to have smaller versions of the same crap you can do on a laptop. But this seems more up my alley......if only they would make a pc style thing like this that has a fast processor and is compatible with all corrent windows products and games...with high end graphics card and I would be sold on it. Would be cool to play games like Crisis on something like that. xD

Seriously people are just getting exited because it's from Apple. When I first saw it with it's form factor and price I was impressed with it, then I saw the terrible embedded OS and poor specs and it was a big let down. If it ran OSX and an Atom CPU it would have been far better.

the main feature of an ebook reader is the e-paper display, which not only gives incredible battery life but makes reading the display much easier than a backlit lcd screen. I have a Sony PRS505 Ebook Reader and believe me tablet PC's are no substitute.

499 is very reasonable for a computer, I know of no other portable computer that is not lame at that kind of price. I can't believe some of you are complaining about the cost, if you don't like it go ahead and buy a netbook which looks like a cement brick by comparison.

@rainrad2002 sure 499 is reasonable for a computer, but the ipad is NOT a computer. to be blunt, its a glorified oversized ipod touch. If it were to run os x software rather than the iphone os, it'll be a capable tablet pc with desktop applications. This is 499 for a web/email browser in which your iphone/touch can do already.

i'd rather stick with my EEE, its not an excellent computer but its a good portable computer that can do SOME stuff, the ipad cant do ANY er...stuff.
