@DJShortgino No, because the Xponent has a built in sound card....Only way to do this is to plug the xponent into the back of a mixer....then plug the mic into the mixer.
I have the best question of ALL!!! do you actually think you do a good job at DJing? your mixes are HORRIBLE...practice some more before you put a video up.
@PattenGroup You have no subscribers, you have a video of some kid eating food.....hmmm....this is the part where I click block...and poof your gone.....
torq is awesome, and whoever talks shit about the xponent it's because you never had it or didn't know shit about dj-ing this is one of the best f* controllers in the market, i wish it only had a mic... but other than that is awesome
OMG, I just picked up my M-Audio Xponent. It comes with everything you need, except a laptop and MP3s. This thing is bad ass. I was beat matching and mashing up songs in about ten minutes. So friggin easy! Love it.
I have a few questions, First does it come with all the cables so all you need to do is plug it into the computer and plug your audio cables into speakers or no? Second, if it doesn't come with all the cables that are required to get audio etc. what cables would I need to get everything running right? Do you need a midi cable or does it come with one? Can you list the cables you have as well?
I know this sounds like a dumb question but since I've not seen the back of the Xponent it's reasonable for me to ask :P does it have a "Record" section on the back like the Hercules MK2? This way I can use my RCA to 1/8in cable to go into my mic on the laptop. also how are the buttons. Are they squishy like the herc or clicky like a CDJ 200 lol
i just got my xponent the other day and i'm still trying to figure it out... does anyone know if there is a "Load Song" button? i hate the fact that you have to drag and drop every song you select...!
or maybe there is a way to program/learn a button to do this...?? wachu think? ;? anyone?
check out my other video that shows the lexicon mx400. I just picked a certain effect, don't remember which one...and ran 2 seperate signals via xlr into my camera. I also used to camers to shoot this video, so one day im going to re-post this video with the other video showing the laptop screen as well.
Nice! :) 2 Quick questions, as im thinkin 2 get this kit on wednesday.
1. Can you use headphones in this and preview just 1 track in your ear headphones. So the crowd can't hear it before it goes live. How do you switch between the 2 while u mix?
2. Do the pitch sliders lock the speed so u can only speed up and slow down the track, or do they allow you to change just the pitch of the song instead? Or can you do both?
Ne1 get bak 2 me plz as im thinkin 2 get mine on weds. :)
If you are using a laptop with your Xponent you can run a USB mic directly into your laptop or an XLR mic with a 1/8th adapter. Set up your input within Torq to come from your computers built in sound card. This should only work using Torq in internal mixer mode.
the beatmixing buttons talk to the torq software which has an option to auto beat match, I don't use that often because you don't know what the sound is going to come out...especially if your auto beat matching2 songs slow to fast.
wow...im definitely investing the 450$ to start dj'ing full time. A apple powerbook g4 and this mixer should do just fine! thanks for the fucking great demonstration
not sure, but if the pioneercdj200 can talk midi, then the torq software can be programmed to listen to the MIDI commands from the pioneer. Otherwise you could do it with a box that goes in between the cdj200 and the TORQ software. Torq has a solution for this.
This is so fucking bad

it comes with a USB cable that you plug into your computer. It sends MIDI signals to your laptop or computer to control your software.

Its a MIDI controller so its very responsive......settings can be tweaked as well if they don't meet your likings.

Yes, you can use headphones to preview the track your about to play. There is a cue button that lets you switch between the 2.
The pitch sliders move up and down just like a regular turntable would change the pitch.
mike71flores 3 years ago
alright mate, good mix, nice fresh tunes :)
just a couple of questions...
-can you plug a usb microphone into the laptop you use with an xponent and channel it through the speakers?
-are the beatmixing buttons at the top by the platters very effective compared to crossfaders?
thanks man
