  • The classic GMC fishbowls. Coolest transit bus style ever!

  • St Johns Newfoundland. It is from there. I heard of the story, St Johns Metro sold a bus to someone who just parked it at the side of the road. It got towed back. They had to pay to have it retowed. It had ST Johns Metro colors on it. It has been repainted. Now they do not want to sell them anymore. They should of just took their colors, and logos off first. That is probably the bus.

  • cool... I like this video and I love vintage GM and Flexible Buses

  • judging just by the light this is not a '67 it could be a '59-63 with the top marker lights modified to "68- and on or a '68 and on bus with a 59-63 back lift gate added on either way but not a '67 for sure!!!

  • do you by any chance have any video of the orion buses there?

  • @Tcaauwe2002

Hi. By "there" I assume you mean Newfoundland, right?

No, but this video gets a decent amount of traffic so perhaps there's a fellow-Newf who knows what an Orion bus is who'll video it and post it to YouTube.

  • I am a tr4ansit fan too! Hello from Regina!

  • ur lying its 1994 city bus

  • @goobox12345 etransit from Edmonton, Alberta says otherwise. He confirmed that this bus is ex Edmonton Transit 467, a 1963 GM TDH-5301. He wrote, "during its time in Edmonton, it had three different liveries: 1) red, cream, and silver 2) red and white 3) white with blue and yellow stripes Whoever picked it up afterwards did some modifications, including new paint, rooftop racks, etc." and then he wrote, "For pics, please navigate to the Edmonton section of barp(dot)ca".

    There ya have it.

  • Nice bus!

  • Check out my four separate home movies of some vintage Washington DC GM types. You may enjoy!

  • The tailgate of this bus has most certainly been replaced and taken from a GM of the 1959-62 era.Notice that the three big bulging taillights are inconsistent with the "teardrop" marker lights of a post 1967 coach. This bus was definitley manufactured before 1968 because the front says "GM",instead of "GMC".

  • Greetings from Edmonton, Alberta. I can confirm that this bus is ex Edmonton Transit 467, a 1963 GM TDH-5301. During its time in Edmonton, it had three different liveries:

    1) red, cream, and silver

    2) red and white

    3) white with blue and yellow stripes

Whoever picked it up afterwards did some modifications, including new paint, rooftop racks, etc.

For pics, please navigate to the Edmonton section of barp(dot)ca

  • HI there Edmonton!

Oh my I can't thank you enough for giving us the proud history of this cool bus!

Well, seems first thing I will have to do is change the name of this video from "1967 GMC BUS" to "1963 GM BUS (confirmed former Edmonton Transit history)"!

I'm sure that you're proud of your Edmontron transit buses just lke we're proud of our Mississauga Transit fleet.

Thank you again and warmest regards!

  • looking to buy a bus 1972 eagle or mci9

  • I own a 1983 GM Fishbowl, former Connecticut Transit. I love Fishbowls!

  • I love riding on those, the TTC still has a bunch

  • FYI this bus isn't in it's original colors. It is Ex-Edmonton Transit #467, a 1963 GM TDH5301. It's original colors would be orange and cream. There's photos of these ones around on the internet if you're interested.

  • TMX is totally correct on this BTW. If you look around on the web, you'll find images of Edmonton Transit Fishbowls and take close look at the front fleet number on them which is on the driver's foot air vent on the front.

  • city of regina own about 20 of those that are still used .same with moosejaw

  • Unfortunately Moose Jaw Transit's Fishbowls have been retired along with their Orion's and NFI's. They now have a new fleet of Nova's and Eldorado EZ Rider II's.

  • its a nice one. I esp. like the gm scenicruisers too.

  • Hi there paztikiblue.

Thanks for your comment. And oh yeah! I know how lucky I was to see this beastie. The owner let me inside as well.

It needed some work, mind you. But spruce it up a touch, connect it to the Net and slap on a couple of PEACE signs and--

  • you are so lucky i never scene those in person

  • Don't I know it. AND the owner let me go inside and see the inside! Almost all the comforts of home. I say "almost" because he neglected a computer station complete with Internet. :-)

  • Very nice, it's a 40 foot model also which are the only "true" buses of any kind in my opinion.

  • Great video thanks for sharing.

    Real beauty!

  • sick i live here never seen it befroe!

does buddy live and keep it here?

  • I just checked my video and the numbers on the licence plate is the same as the bus. So can't tell from the video whether it's a Newfoundland plate or not.

I do know if you go to Buchans, you'll see the bus parked on the side of the road. Can't miss it. If it's there, that is. The owner might be touring with the thing.

    Lovely bus.

  • Buchans. And yes, I believe it had Nfld plates. Will confirm with you later. The owner allowed me to see the inside and everything.

  • i never got to see those buses your very lucky

  • does it have nfld plates?

  • where is this to in nfld?

  • where in nfld did you see this?
