  • What a great group[ the outcasts were. I saw them at the boro rock garden with the adicts in about 1982. My mate spat frequentluy at Getty during the set. When the band came off the drummer and 2 local skins batterrd my (ex) friend in the toilets. The skinhead spider head drummer knocked him out with a headbut into the piss trough. Canny headbut i thought.....

  • i think this is a fucking great rock n roll song

  • middle class dicks

  • @roughra1111 why are they middle class, they look rough and ready to me

  • @roughra1111 why do you care what class their part of? even if they are, or even if they aren't middle class, their music is amazing. thats what it is RIGHT?

  • This song is a classic. Just like Big time by Rudi.

  • Bloody marvellous-Blank Gen forever!

  • I still play the 'you're a disease' single a lot .....the b-side is great as well.....'don't want to be no adult' is one of my all time favourite trax! Another great 45 that was connected with Terry Hooley was 'Insane' by the Bears.....the band formed by original Wire guitarist George Gill. great days!!

  • Insane is great, the fold out paper sleeve is nice to look at as well -pretty colours And it was Good Vibrations first 'international' single.

  • The Outcasts could play. They were one of the tightest, powerful and influential bands ever to come out of Ireland.

From a live perspective, for me their best period was when Raymond joined forces with Colin on drums. They were an awesome drum powerhouse.

Hearing and seeing Greg deliver his threatning vocals and power packed bass was awesome.

For anyone to say the Outcasts couldnt play must never have seen them live.

  • pure punk

  • Born of a pretty dark era for Belfast.

Dont understimate how important and influental this band was.

They influenced a generation of musicians, as did the man who is narrating this piece, and gave them their break...Terry Hooley.

In another universe, Terry could have been a millionaire, as it turned out, he had more interest in giving great bands and break than making money.

Takes me back to trying to sneak into the Pound Club as a very young teenager.

  • I recognise this clip from the film 'shellshock rock'. If anyone has more clips to upload, please do!

  • Remember going into Ballymoney town hall to watch "Shellshock Rock," place was full of Shams there to see "Race for seconds" there was only 3or 4 of us there to see "Shellshock Rock," was class

  • Brilliant band, totally underrated. Northern Irish punk is so different to other punk, it's so unique over here.

  • Garath gates could help the lead singer....

    or may be a dress

  • God, I sure do miss those days. Everything sounded so fresh and new...and totally unique, expressive and urgent. Thanks to the bands that changed my life.

  • nice one
