ugh i hate how howard is trying to get eliza to say something negative about smg. eliza brought in to light a fire under sarah's ass??? please. smg is the most talented actor in 7 years on that show. that's why she's the lead and that's why the show went for 7 years. the only actor that even comes close to the level of sarah's acting chops was james marsters.

@sydandtaytum Excuse me? I love Sarah to death, but she was not the best actor on the show. David Boreanaz blew her away. While Sarah did an awesome job, David managed to play two extremely distinct characters just as good (Angel and Angelus). Plus, in his own show, Angel's character changed from brooding to dark and ruthless to funny and cheery in just two seasons. A top notch actor can play multiple characters. David rules that department.

@Xenodude2000 gotta disagree with you there. i don't know if you have an acting background at all, but david, tho great on buffy, was not always so great on his own show. he is a mediocre actor that is very good looking and has some great moments. when he had to carry his own show tho, his weaknesses really showed. this is true for eliza as well. don't get me wrong, love them both to death, and obviously there is some subjectiveness to it, but i did used to study acting.

@sydandtaytum Yeah, well, we clearly have different opinions on that matter. To me, what REALLY qualifies as a great actor is someone who can play more than one character, and be proffessional in both roles. Sarah did her character great, but David did two characters great. I dunno how much acting you've studied or whatever, but calling David "mediocre"? That's gotta be the joke of the year...

@Xenodude2000 david was great at the big over-the-top stuff, but in a lot of his scenes where he doesn't have in-your-face stuff to do, he lacked subtlety. smg did/can play multiple characters- on the show, she was both robot buffy and The First. she also was nominated as best actress for a golden globe and won an emmy. trust me, the industry respects her much more as an actor than DB (despite his hit show at the moment). the only other lead on buffy that is on her level would be james marsters

@sydandtaytum I see your point, I simply don't agree. :) I never found a problem with David's way of portraying his characters. Besides, Sarah's portrayal of Robo-Buffy doesn't compare to David's performance as Angel/Angelus. But sure, Sarah deserves any awards she can be given, and Marsters is amazing, as well.

It all comes down to a matter of opinion. The industry and haters and whoever can go probe their own behinds. What I consider good is all that matters to me. :) No offence to anyone...

@forthelove77 bones is a shitty show. it has a million continuity errors and zero heart because the writers don't give a crap. it is on because the majority of people watch it the way they would watch a CSI episode or NCIS episode- in that they don't need to know much about the show or characters to understand an individual episode. it is the kind of show that is a machine. just because something is 'popular' doesn't mean it is good. in fact, many times, it means it is simplistic and vapid.

@forthelove77 to be fair, i only watched the first 2 seasons out of support for david boreanaz, but i just couldn't watch anymore. but if ur a fan, u HAVE to notice the continuity issues and character discrepancies from episode to episode. i notice and i'm not even a fan. (yes, i call his acting mediocre in comparison to james and sarah, but i support all of joss's people)

@sydandtaytum Hmm im a boy so i don't really think hes hot lol but i think hes deffo better on Angel. I think the strongest actors on Buffy were Emma, Alyson, Amber, James and Sarah. She was good but she had some weak moments. My fave performances from Sarah were in The Gift and The Body for me she excelled there but i think the standout Buffy actor for me was Emma Claufeild. But i did like Sarah. I perfer her over David.

I love them both but yeah I'd take Eliza over Sarah. They should both do a movie together though. A female Expendables-type along with Angelina Jolie (the top-billed star of course), Jennifer Garner and Maggie Q. To counter what some people have said here: the great thing about Buffy was that she was very feminine, a delicate, sensitive and dolly girl, and yet she could be commanding, kick demon ass, and make sarcastic quips while doing so. Never, NEVER before that in the history of TV or cinema did we have such a heroine. And Sarah Michelle Gellar made her come alive in a breathtaking way. She was convincing while punching and wielding a weapon just as much as she looked good in a dress.

The reason why Faith made Buffy look good was simply because Eliza always made her fights look hardcore, and so when Buffy beat her it made people think, wow Buffy must be the best cause she kicked Faith's ass.
