because the particles are moving slower, so the light is reflected slower, or the opposite. We r learning about this in school

Is it because the cooling allows it to conduct better and results in a faster oscillation? i.e. the light waveform is now shortened thus resulting in a shift away from red end of the spectrum?

@gollumondrugs it is because the bandgap in the diode is temperature dependent. In LN2 the gap is wider and hence the change in color.
