@TheDokaDoka useless to us who don't really need it nor afford it. the shower spa on EK is probably just for first class or maybe business class passengers who need to get to a meeting immediately after arrival, hence the convenience of the shower spa.
Singapore certainly looks like a classier product than the Emirates offering, although the Arabs do offer a SHOWER in first class. Do Singapore Airlines?
@gregtube88 Singapore Airlines is the world's global premier 5 star airline that offers a class act product, but yea no showers on SQ, the space was devoted to the passengers instead, for example the hotel like suites, which are bigger then EK'S first class and the 1-2-1 config 32 inch business class product.
Hi...I definitely agree with you. I personally find that "gold" trim look in EK's first tacky. Too "noveau riche" for me. I prefer the quiet, understated elegance of SQ's Suites, First and Business classes or for that matter that of CX. AA is coming up with a new First product -let's see if this US carrier can carry it off. I wish them luck.
I don't know, those suites look bad ass, but I couldn't be cooped up in a room like that for an average flight of 14 house from USA to Asia unless I was becoming part of the mile high club. Other then that, I think Boeing might have a little bit (ahem) of a challenge to rival all this.
@flipicaneze lol if you get caught having sex in these SQ suites, you will have the Singaporean Government on your ass literally with fines and probably community service.
@flipicaneze Chewing gum IS not illegal in Singapore...There is no law stating that you CANT eat gum, it is ONLY illegal to see gum in large quantities.
its just an aircraft call sign and usually does not correspond with the airlines name. For example, Cathay Pacific is CX, Malaysia Airways MH, Qantas QF, Etihad EY, Asiana OZ, Eva Air BR, and Thai airways TG just to name a few
Oh, I see. I just noticed a trend.. American Airlines- AA, United Airlines- UA, Alaska Airlines- AS, Continental- CO. Thanks for the explanation, I just always thought the letters corresponded with the name.
With US based airlines, I think their first class kicks their airlines first class around 5 times. SIA's economy class puts American Airline's first class to shame.
Singapore Airlines excels in what it does. Its standards remain one of the highest and most exacting in the industry and it is emulated, feared and despised probably in equal measure by its many competitors. Coming up trumps has become something of a habit for the airline, and little wonder. I can imagine that for many traveling executives where flying is more work hazard than genuine pleasure, booking a Singapore Airlines flight means at very least - knowing what to expect.

Now your being a little ridiculous here. The reason why SIA chose the A380 over the 747 as their new flagship aircraft is due to capacity. What you failed to remember is that SIA use to be one of the world's largest 747 operators. T
thats not true i was in a 757 for a Stockholm- New york flight. It SUCKED haha. But most small aircraft can fly long distances and we didn't stop once.

Oops, sorry. What I explain for xxquiker is an White Knight aircraft which carry Virgin Galactic Space Ship One. The newest White Knight will carry Space Ship Two at 54000 ft then ignite its engine into space. People already spent their €20,000 on this space journey.

Emirates seats to me are overrated vioaltec. They seem very inconsistent and they're old F class is plain horrible as well as the old version of J class-new SQ economy looks better than that. They just have this cheapness which I can't get over-I've found Thai service very good and the best I've had next to SIA.
blkarr, cathay did not order any A380s. Thai's 747 cabins are only 2 years old and aren't even on all aircraft. I don't expect new cabins from thai soon unfortunately.......
Cathay did not order any. Thai's new cabins are not completely rolled out and they are less than 2 years old. Unfortunately i doubt that thai will put in any new cabin product soon.......
it may take a couple years or even longer for Thai to get the a380. Thai is all ready piss off about the delays and has all ready warned airbus. Thai's new seats looks amazing IF we were in 2001, lets just hope they do someting about that first class it looks terrible
Thai airways said that they will be putting 500 seats into thier a380. They said unlike thier rival Singapore Airlines, who went with the glamor and luxury and amazing seats, Thai will focus on the economic part which means not too comfy seats. Wont be seeing thai as a 5 star airline any time soon. Article can be found on sqtalk.
its gonna take a while for the a380-900 to grace the skies. Its gona be too big. Airports are all ready spending money to redesign thier airports to accomidate the a380. A380-900 will be a little bigger then the a380-800
Ive notice that airlines who try to be innovative always take the baby steps, Singapore Airlines on the other hands takes GIANT leaps. This is why SIA is the worlds leading airline in innovative ideas/desgins and most of all great service.
i swear i thought i was looking at a hotel not an airplane. SQ is always a step ahead of its competitors. They are always coming with some new innovative design. This is why ladies and gents the worlds leading and #1 is no other then Singapore Airlines. About the A380 and 747, Face it the 747 is the past and the a380 is the future. So build a bridge and get over it
looks all good but i doubt the average person can afford most of those features.. those beds alone would probably cost over $10k per person but then again celebrities might like stuff like that
This aircraft is the most advanced commercial aircraft flying today. It's safer, more comfortable more fuel efficient and quiter than ever before. What's not to like?
I hope it's not because you're American and you don't like it because it's not American. That would be really unfair.
i hate economy class seats...

it may take a couple years or even longer for Thai to get the a380.

Article can be found on sqtalk.

lols vioaltec. I in fact put that article on Sqtalk hehe.

the Thai airways rep shouldnt have said this instead, "unlike singapore airlines, we dont have the money to stick a 5 star hotel in our a380". heheh

They've got 5 star hotels in the A380-800. What about the A380-900 then?
S7r0ng3r 3 years ago 2
its gonna take a while for the a380-900 to grace the skies. Its gona be too big. Airports are all ready spending money to redesign thier airports to accomidate the a380. A380-900 will be a little bigger then the a380-800
xxquiker 3 years ago
Yup. You got that right. Airbus is only going to start making them in 2010 (planned).
S7r0ng3r 3 years ago
Bigger as in all dimensions? Width, length, height? What would be the comparison in seat numbers?
maxxeclipse88 3 years ago
It'll be longer, that's for sure.

Ive notice that airlines who try to be innovative always take the baby steps, Singapore Airlines on the other hands takes GIANT leaps. This is why SIA is the worlds leading airline in innovative ideas/desgins and most of all great service.
sfotpe 4 years ago 6
agree singapore airlines is the big dog in the airline industry
spm3m 4 years ago 2
Congrates to SIA and Airbus. No airline will now dare to compete with the new SQ seats!

the double beds are for two persons , two suites
mobe89 4 years ago
Lolz dont fly with SQ then. Like they need you and your money, probably cant afford those suits.
newyork2milan 4 years ago 4
Exactly one person is not gonna effect a global and finacially stable airline such as SQ. Just means another person off the standby list

no mirrors ;)
you are in a 1st class A 380 suite, not in a Las Vegas casino !
gilou1973 4 years ago
This is amazing!
JayFmOnline 4 years ago
i swear i thought i was looking at a hotel not an airplane. SQ is always a step ahead of its competitors. They are always coming with some new innovative design. This is why ladies and gents the worlds leading and #1 is no other then Singapore Airlines. About the A380 and 747, Face it the 747 is the past and the a380 is the future. So build a bridge and get over it

hey, no doublebeds man, its just a stupid mirror
sammarku 4 years ago
im pretty sure its a double bed..
the reflections of the sheets don't 'match up' and the wine tray is also quite obvious. you can't reflect a diagonally positioned rectangle.
spirawase 4 years ago
yeah, you are right. never mind. sorry ;-/
sammarku 4 years ago
They really are double beds. Where is the cameraman's reflection if it is a mirror? ;)
pigpenthegreat 4 years ago
sammarku, these are double beds! You can have them configured to be put together with aisle suites. Its a very innovative feature...
sleeevy 4 years ago
Actually, there are both, single beds and double beds.
airbusbetter 4 years ago
looks all good but i doubt the average person can afford most of those features.. those beds alone would probably cost over $10k per person but then again celebrities might like stuff like that
southbamajag 4 years ago
i heard they are charging a 25% premium over the regular first class prices for the suites...

what an over-glorified pregnant bus in the sky!!!

Why do you say that?
This aircraft is the most advanced commercial aircraft flying today. It's safer, more comfortable more fuel efficient and quiter than ever before. What's not to like?
I hope it's not because you're American and you don't like it because it's not American. That would be really unfair.
aerobobby 4 years ago 2
that consumes 25% less fuel than a 747! bring it on i say! =)

At lease she is beautiful than Boeing 747LCF. LCF was ugly and only carry Boeing 787 parts.
