Yes, our economy is not the best right now, but there is still plenty of buying power for luxury vehicles. Maybe not as much as there was during last year, but plenty still exists. Ok this is going to piss everyone off, and for that i appologize, but these new muscle cars are a joke.
They look like over inflated versions of amazing cars. The new "retro" look isn't retro at all. Old muscle cars looked agressive, not like a box on wheels. But because people demand 20 inch rims on a car, they have become bloated and look more like a small truck than a muscle car.
They are rediculusy heavey, the new challanger weighs in at over 300 pounds more than the one in 1974.
The new gt500 weighs 3994lbs where as the 1967version weighes only 3260lbs.
They cost to damn much now. what is the cause of this increase in weight? Could it possible be the 13 speaker stero systems, and 6 way power seats, and individual ass masagers that rich playboys demand.
These new cars are good, but they could be so much better, but because of the ricer fad, DODGE, Ford and Chevy have allowed what could be agressive, fast looking, affordable machines become the vary thing that we wanted them to destroy.
When I say a car has 20 inch rims, a ground effects kit, and a 13 speaker stereo system, what kind of car comes to mind? I gaurntee you it is not a muscle car, its a ricer.

The GTO was made as a retro concept car as far back as 1999.

i used to sell the 07 Montes and they were nothing on the horsepower of the Impala SS's. Test driving, the front wheel drive was lacking. But sure scared the old ladies next to you. The Monte SS's should have been like the new Camaros, rear wheel for speed and handling.

I'm not arguing that cars are getting cleaner, but I don't think you realize that getting cleaner doesn't mean they have to lose power. Yes, the maserati is a big gas consumer, but the technology is there to make it far more efficient and cleaner without sacrificing power. Take the many hybrids in production today. Thats why Bendz is making a hybrid S class which has plenty of power. demand.

initially u cant have an electric sports car or a full fledged hybrid sports car. Obviously there has to be some compensation . By the time u come up with a true GREEN racing car , the buying habits of all consumers will totally change. If US ever fully recovers from recession , u will cleary see a drastic change in the buying habits of the consumers

If your profile is correct, you don't live in the US so I can tell that your view of our current economic condition is a bit blurred.
Yes, our economy is not the best right now, but there is still plenty of buying power for luxury vehicles. Maybe not as much as there was during last year, but plenty still exists. Also, many states are already recovering quite nicely. Tx, (which holds a large portion of wealthy people within the medical and energy sectors) has already bounced back.

Well, I must say that GM definitely has quite a few cars that would blow minds. Firebird/Trans Am, Camaro, Corvette,Tempest/Le mans/ GTO, Chevelle, Nova, Cutlass 442, Riviera, Skylark, Monte Carlo, El Camino, and quite a few more. I don't have a favorite branch, but I do love my Firebird.

Ok this is going to piss everyone off, and for that i appologize, but these new muscle cars are a joke.
They look like over inflated versions of amazing cars. The new "retro" look isn't retro at all. Old muscle cars looked agressive, not like a box on wheels. But because people demand 20 inch rims on a car, they have become bloated and look more like a small truck than a muscle car.

They are rediculusy heavey, the new challanger weighs in at over 300 pounds more than the one in 1974.
The new gt500 weighs 3994lbs where as the 1967version weighes only 3260lbs.
They cost to damn much now. what is the cause of this increase in weight? Could it possible be the 13 speaker stero systems, and 6 way power seats, and individual ass masagers that rich playboys demand.

These new cars are good, but they could be so much better, but because of the ricer fad, DODGE, Ford and Chevy have allowed what could be agressive, fast looking, affordable machines become the vary thing that we wanted them to destroy.
When I say a car has 20 inch rims, a ground effects kit, and a 13 speaker stereo system, what kind of car comes to mind? I gaurntee you it is not a muscle car, its a ricer.

um actualy if you want to get technical it started with pontiac bringing back the GTO, which brought back the desire for nostolgia, its fall flat on its face do to lack luster body styling.
The GTO was made as a retro concept car as far back as 1999.
So if you want to thank someone for the revival of the muscle car you can thank Pontiac, not ford.

um if you didnt know! .that 04 through 06 "GTO" was an an australian sports car that was renamed GTO when it was brought to north america and it diffenatly does not look retro it resembles noting of the classic 60's GTO just like the 06-08 "chargers" and btw ford has never stopped the production of mustangs since 1964 and as far back as 95 ford had shelby cobras V8s with over 300 crank horsepower

Um if you didn't know the gto was supposed to come back as a retro styled rear drive car. this was all the way back in 1999. A full six years before your little mustang was even thought of,
oh and in 1995 there wasn't an shelby cobra, it was known as a SVT cobra, Shelby did not come back to ford untill the lastest body style came out.

it was carrol shelby that invented the cobra mustangs for ford back in the mid 60's SVT, GT350s, GT390s, GT500's so it really doest make any difference the fact is it was a cobra and cobras are a Carrol Shelbly invention for ford muscle btw where is this austalian sport car wwith the brand GTO now never being made again thats the problem with GM they kill all there muscle cars for some reason I.E trans ams GTOs monte carlos ss, even the camaro for a few years until now

They sell mustangs, and trucks, but the 500 was a flop, they are killing the ranger which is one of their best selling trucks. They lose money every quarter, you can look that up. On the North American market, Ford is a flop, and does not make profit.

The montes did not sale well, because it was front wheel drive, a car like that people want rear wheel drive.
The trans am and Camaros although they look amazing just cost to much for the average person to buy. The cost was up, and sales where down. That may be odd, but that is how it went.

i used to sell the 07 Montes and they were nothing on the horsepower of the Impala SS's. Test driving, the front wheel drive was lacking. But sure scared the old ladies next to you. The Monte SS's should have been like the new Camaros, rear wheel for speed and handling.
