  • One day I saw a some kind of book at the bookshop. The book was about legends/alive famous iconic people. I was very furious, because there wasn't Björk in that book. The book also had many unnecessary celebrities, like Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga. Where was the Björk? The voice, who have been affected for millions of people of years!!!

  • shes adorable

  • @Defn28 me too!

  • Bjork has really gotten ever since 2007 but here she looks pretty decent actually.

  • I love Jools Holland. He knows what good music sounds like. Björk, Róisín Murphy, Portishead, Radiohead, Gorillaz. And it seems like his show has been around forever. Even though I don't think I get his show in my country it's still nice to watch these live performances on the internet.

  • I think bjork is a person who is completly herself in her music.

she's a bit shy in the interview :)

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies How could you not have a crush on her man!

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies ¡Absolutely!

  • @Ulmeyda08 who doesnt?!

  • 'They kind of wear Medieval outfits.' I believe this was subtle criticism, this along with 'I haven't seen them.'

  • bjork is gorgeous!!

  • She is wonderful!

  • wow he is annoying.

  • Please shut up about The Mars Volta. They are nothing more than pretentious shit using way too many affects and not enough talent

  • I wish more people had this opinion. You speak the truth.

  • not at all..

  • I seriously think you two are the only people with this stupid opinion.

  • mars volta is one of bjork's influences...

  • What kind of stupid fucking music do you listen to if you have this terrible of an opinion?

  • Bjork, the Stone roses, The Smiths, Kate Bush, Led Zep, Radiohead...

At the drive-in were pretty good, but Mars Volta are just noise from 'Frances' onwards.

  • nah... the mars volta got a little weird on amputechture, but i wouldnt say it was just noise. and if it was, whats wrong with noise? look at sonic youth

  • its effects, not affects. that means something different. if you're going to try and insult them, do it properly

  • kurrektings gramerz on teh internetz iss a impossible task, in the mostest gentle way, and as an advice, no one cares.

  • WHERE THE PERFORMANCE???????????

  • I've only just started listening to a little Bjork, and I really like it, another musician I can't compare with anyone else e.g. Qotsa (comparing what I can't compare, irony much? :-P)

But really good, looking at old interviews of Bjork her accent has really become something too lol, Londish + Icelandic :-D

  • are you speaking english?

  • little girl's sweetness..

  • Wow, her English has really improved over the years.

  • she aounds australian/icelantic/british

  • You spell like a raeterd.

  • her accent is spectacuarly hard to place.

  • Well, she is of course Iceland's most famous export, but has lived in London for many years.

Bjork is awsome thow. love her music. and style.

  • Bjork : birch in Latin. Betula; be-tu-la!

  • "Volta" also means "a walk" in Greek!

  • same in turkish.

  • wow!! Bjork, what an AMAZING artist!

  • In Portuguese, VOLTA means RETURN.

Great return of Björk.. I love her last album.

  • It's VOLTAge e.e

  • volta?...did the mars volta get their name from that?

  • "I wanted to make a rave track, but it ended up being about the Faroe Islands fighting for their independance... I'm not sure how that happened, but..."

    lmao

  • TOO BRILLIANT

  • I love how she says "fighting" in a Cockney accent!

  • SHE'S JUST SO DAMN CUTE!

    :D

  • It's WHAT when you're touring with food? Did you say ex-boyfriend trip-hop pioneer TRICKY??? I LOVE THAT GUY!

  • lol I'm listening to "I miss you" at the same time and it sounds like they're rapping! COOOOLLL MMAAAAANNNN~~~~!!!!!

  • Someone should tell cute little Bjork that Volta also means a walk in Greek. I'm surprised she didn't find it in all her research and since she did the Olympics song 4 years ago. Volta is a slow enjoyable walk, like Volta at the beach... :)

  • I agree.

  • glad you reminded us that it was your opinion... without that extra information we would have been completely befuddled.

  • well maybe i was being a little too harsh, now that i've looked back at the comment. something about her demeanor and tone rubbed me the wrong way.i mean, why proclaim(as a musician)all of your personal opinions on ppl the way she does? what, for awareness?stick to being a musician. thats how i should've put it

  • the mars volta

  • no words can express how much i love bjork.

  • bjork is so cute

  • did she say those ladies are in a vietnamese cult? o_o

  • I LOVE HER!

  • i love her laughter

  • She's so pretty!

  • she's from iceland and i bet your accent sounds like flies swarming 'round a donkey turd.

  • I know where she's from dipshit. Yeah, my accent does kinda sound like that.

  • then you'd know she has an icelandic accent, you, uh, retard?

  • You fucking idiot. She spoke in a complete British accent in the 80s,and 90s. It's obviously still there some. You'd probably know that too since you know so much about her you,uh, dipshit?

  • yeah, i knew that and i thought she stopped doing that. watching the video again and i can hear it. it's kind of annoying

  • i would say this is the stupidest discussion i have ever seen, but when i see videos about politics and their comments, i know nothing can beat that

  • That's really great.

  • i love her voice

  • Listen to some of her softer, not so 'out there' songs. For example, Unravel. It's lovely, and there's a little music video for it too.

    Divin.

  • HAHA, I love the way she's hiding the fact that she's a physco!.. Still, How could u not love this woman....

  • she's so cute

  • She's a good conversationalist--very real

  • I love Björk; Shadowplaying gave a perfect analogy.

  • Amazing accent :P, can I hear cockeny pricking up in one or two words every now and then?

  • I don't get the thing about accents either. What are you talking about? As a non-native she speaks very good English!

  • shes so cute :)

  • Bjork is so fuckin hot lol

  • Point simple - the most incredible looking woman I have ever seen. The accent, the energy, the imagination.

  • Do not mess with my Bjork!!! :D

  • ok, w/e LOL. she looks most the time like she hates talking in english, a vibe, probably changes her accent some, but is that much different than changing fashion

  • THIS WOMAN IS SO FREAKIN HOT, I CAN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND IT . Her amazing singing voice, her style, her clothes, her accent, man whoever she is married to, that is one lucky motherfu****.

Bjork is on the same level as enya and lisa gerrard. Well hold up, enya is always on top, but bjork is close.

  • jools says he enjoyed listening to her album, volta, yet, he doesn't seem to have heard "declare independance", saying "i'm looking forward to discovering it". What is this jools holland telling us?

  • Bjork is Icelandic. Not Chinese

  • I think you mean "insincere"

  • fuck off. you have no idea.

  • poor poor john galantini.

You have to grow up and start to not take things personnaly like this.

Are you the brother of Bjork, or one of her friends ?

I assume not, so you should not care so much.

Please, make a life by your own.

  • You are correct, I am neither a friend of brother, but a great admirer of her work and a long time fan. Having watched numerous interviews, concerts and heard her records, I feel qualified to pass judgement against your unsupported claim.

  • dear john galantini.

But you are not qualified to insult me or other people on YouTube for futile reasons. I mean FUTILE reasons.

Hey Body, Bjork is not your sister. Learn not to take personnaly comments on other people or stars. You are not Bjork.

Your previous insult is incorrect and you should grow up a little.

She may be a great artist for you but in some interviews she nevertheless speaks like a distressed, shy, poor 6-7 years old girl. I find this childish and very stupid.

  • it¨s childlike, which very different from childishness, something COMPLETELY different. So you'rethe very stupid one ;P. You analyze from the outside and reject and judge. It's your ignorance that makes you dislike her or find her "stupid". If you care to listen and actually UNDERSTAND what she says most of the times, in almost every interview, she says incredible thigns, she's intelligent and wise beyond her years. Being childlike means having kept the innocence and purity of a child alive.

  • Dear aronron2727,

you are not qualified to judge Bjork.

She's intelligent, shy, humble, tasteful, witty, and did I mention intelligent?

You, however, are tasteless and lacking in tact.

    Good day.

  • She is not faking her accent. That's how she always sounds. If you hear other people from Iceland speak English, like the band Sigur Ros, for example, they sound similar to Bjork.

  • Thank you. But I understand that she has an accent, I do not criticize her for that.

What I don't like is the fact that she CHANGES her accents.

Sometimes, she has a baby-like way of speaking, sometimes she almost does not have an accent and other times she has a very very strong accent.

Sometimes she speaks like an adult (what she is) and sometimes like a poor little girl, alone and lonely.

She is acting. She has the right to do it, but it is what it is: ACTING AND FAKED.

  • I also notice she changes her accent on the interviews but I think she does it because she probably has to make an effort to talk in a good english accent so maybe she has an strong foreign accent when she's relaxed. *shrugs*

Don't frickin know if I made sense.

  • Thank you. I think she likes acting and changing her way of speaking is fun for her. I assume.

In any events, having a different accent depending of the circumstances may be understandable. Ok for that.

But the fact remains that she enjoys sometimes speaking like a little girl, naive and vulnerable. This is the part where she really acts. By the way, only a woman can let herself to do that.

I dont say she is a bad person but we have to recognize that speaking like a little girl

  • As someone with a very strong Scottish accent who has spent several years living abroad I can tell you for sure that with each encounter you must adapt your accent/speaking voice. The way I talk to my family compared to the way I talk to my foreign friends is completely different - my foreign friends would not understand me if I spoke to them the same way I speak to my family.

  • I think she is speaking the way that she feels Jools/the British public will understand. She grew up in Iceland, lived in the UK in the 90s and has lived in New York for most of this decade. That has an impact on your accent.

  • I don't understand why you would claim that. Björk has nothing to gain from "faking" and "acting," and besides, I don't hear the two different accents you're talking about.

I've watched a whole bunch of interviews w/ Björk and gone to a few shows, and she just talks like that. Just accept it.

  • She's awesome! She has a different accent while speaking with Britons and Americans.

  • her accent is so cute heehee

  • she looks so pretty there!

  • Jools Holland=Grey Plastacene

  • Man what a wierd statement

  • hahahaha, you're right

  • shes totally cute

  • The cutiest shit eveeeeeer (L)

  • she´s just amazing..

  • her voice is so unexpected in a way that it's different from singing and talking. she's so fragile when talking yet fucking powerful when singing.

  • yea es bonita y con gran carisma

  • Damn do I love Bjork!! She's so hot! and her music and voice are wow!!! :D

  • wow her english has improved brilliantly

  • wow her english has improved brilliantly

  • her laugh is adorable

  • she has a part of an english accent because she lived there for a large part of her life, before she had to leave after some crazy fag tried to kill her ass with an acid bomb through her mail

  • That's not why she left. That guy was american.

She left because the english adored her just a bit too much. I read all about it Spin Magazine. it's really interesting the way she explains it.
