  • if her orchestral career goes under, she could always make it as a snake charmer

  • I can think of several middle school bimbo girls that would dislike this, and go listen to Justin Bieber instead...

  • why would someone dislike this?

  • I'm so amazed that there's no dislike. I'm almost tempted. but I won't because I like it.

  • fail last note. (the orchestra)

  • wowowowowowow luv luv luv it

  • 0:41 to 0:52 I always like the way Mozart uses this sort of technique. So beautiful and he sends chills down my spine...

  • Lovely

  • Bravo!

  • Beautiful music that never gets old.

  • Magnifico.Que clarinete do som lindo. Alguem sabe a marca dele? È de 22 chaves? E soprano ou baixo?

  • @neliocla é o Buffet Crampon Prestige A Basset BC1223 . Meu sonho de consumo! rsrs

  • Why do I feel like she added a lot of stuff on her clarinet? It seems longer.

    Lovely piece.

  • @KutiiMutiiChi It's an A clarinet with a basset lower joint attachment....

  • Haaa, except for the soloist, it's an epic sausage fest in the orchestra.

  • this is a great piece! and wow, this video is actually not polluted by dislikes.

  • Love 5:54 =)

  • @RashaadCalaham : LOLLLLLLL! That was a great part.

  • I'm flying through a beautiful meadow . . .

  • I feel like I'm flying through a beautiful meadow . . .

  • She's as beautiful as the sound of her clarinet.

  • Her playing is exceptional, but her physical movement and stance is obnoxious. Stand up straight! Stop whirling around like you've just stepped off of a teacup ride and you're dizzy! XD

    Sorry. It's my pet peeve.

  • @LemonCake07 That's how a performer gets into his piece! With that sort of movement you are sort of treating your body as an extension of your instrument, and vice versa.

  • @LemonCake07 my sentiments exactly.

  • Her musicallity is wonderful and her phrasing shows mastery over the Clarinet :-) Oh btw, I'd let her play MY Clarinet ;-)

  • @bubblytar Oh come on pls don debase yourself

  • What is the tone of the clarinet used by the musician??

  • @Egmarclarinetista years of practice

  • @Egmarclarinetista tone is air. To get good air, you need good support and air supply. The mouth, mouthpiece, reed, ligature, and clarinet shape that tone. So be sure to look into all those aspects to help your tone.

  • Did I miss something, or is there no cadenza in this?

  • @averysensiblename

There is no cadenza, as for Maestro's original part.

  • @averysensiblename Martin Frost does a cadenza in his performance of this piece, but I see no cadenza written on the music, so idunno.

  • @averysensiblename the cadenza is optional. It is also improvised. In Martin Frost's performance he did a bigger cadenza. I heard Sharon's cadenza and it was pretty short. In the music you probably see a fermata over a note. Other composers have done as well, i.e. Carl Maria von Weber's Concertino and Concerto No. 1 from what I've seen so far. As well as other movements in this piece.

  • the best performance of the clarinet I've ever heard!

  • It's executed so well. I wish I could play as well as that

  • She's marvelous, indeed. Please, one question... Where did this take place and when? Thank you.

  • @thestick52 As part of the 24 hour Mozart project, Sharon Kam performed in a live television broadcast of the Mozart clarinet concerto from the Estates Theatre in Prague. In this theater Mozart's friend and inspiration, the clarinetist Anton Stadler, premiered the clarinet concerto on October 16, 1791. Stadler used his self-constructed instrument, a Basset Clarinet, which is an extended clarinet with 4 additional halftones, going down to a written low C, sounding A.

  • @violinundviola, many thanks for such precise information which I've immensely apreciated. Best wishes from São Paulo, Brazil.

  • @thestick52 Sharon Kam used a Basset Clarinet for this concert.

It's all on her website. ^

  • I loved the little small bits from the bassoon

  • She's my fan . i love her tone.

  • @ReinforceZwei009 you mean you are HER fan...

  • Mozart was a complete lunatic but a musical genius.

  • 6:06 No cadenza? I would have liked to hear what she could come up with because the sound is great. Its sad classical musicians today don't learn how to improvise. It was a great opportunity to hear her express her commentary on the music. Oh well.

  • Such a beautiful tone. This is one of my favorite pieces showcasing the clarinet! =] She has a really nice tone. That takes many years to perfect.

  • She's amazing!!!

  • Realmente Mozart fue un ser enviado por Dios , musica para la eternidad . The player execucion is magnificent !!! Congratulations

  • ma come si muove? ma che fa ginnastica? fa sempre lo stesso movimento O.o

  • The flute played quite well

  • @salmon1991leung that isn't a flute.

  • I FREAKING LOVE HER!

  • her mouth must be killing her ( DO NOT THINK IN THE GUTTER!)

  • @jus400track This piece kills your cheeks when you first start learning it but with the amount of practice she must do it would never be a problem. You just build your muscles up like you do with anything else.

  • el compas de 2:01, pa los clarinetistas, con este clarinete se entiende la idea que queria mozart.

  • 1:55 hermoso

  • I saw her live and, did you expect idfferently?, it was amazing.

I also am a big fan of Sabine Meyer but Sharon Kam just gives this piece so much of her own temperament ...

She played Gershwin's Summertime as jazzy encore..

  • I have to agree with Rmzizou and Stickom....A Beautiful piece with a beautiful player...

  • you kind of get used to the song and memorize it before you realize how long it is. I played a Mozart flute concerto that was like almost 20 min long in its entirety and it didn't feel that way until after I really looked at it and went "oh my god I just played for 20 minutes!!!" You just get into it and forget how long it is.

  • i know what you mean, i'd played this myself, and now it just seems like the "correct" length whenever i listen to it, then i realize 'oh... there went 12 minutes.'

  • Is it just me or is someone snoring through most of the movement..?

Anyway, Great performance and I realy loved it!

  • @nilsmarius maybe it was your dog...

  • I can't believe Mozart wrote so many sublime works in his short life of 35 years.

  • very nice version although there is to big a gap for me as i think the lowest notes should be omited and returned to an older rendtion of this classic.

  • ... capricious exposition, subtle rubatto, beautiful scales, fine dynamics and the very vivacious orchestra,

    beautiful!!!!!

  • Indeed! simply wonderful, a joy to hear.

  • I am in love with Mozart !

  • i am distracted by her beauty

  • gorgeous, what incredible msic Mozart composed in his last year!!!

  • amazing, just amazing, cool that she has a basset clarinet too :P

  • and her interpretation of the mozart concerto in its entirety is beautiful, my favorite recording of it.

  • this is AM-A-ZING!! she actually memorized the ENTIRE mozart concerto (including this video). and never missed a beat? sharon is friggen superhuman!

  • Absolutely stunning performance!!!

  • definitely one of the best versions of this piece. BRAVO

  • i agree.

have you every seen this performed?

ive started going to the royal festival hall for such concerts quite reqularly with my school now but im yet to hear any mozart.

    as a clarinetist i realy think i should :D

  • Excellent! And in a such nice place. Many thanks!

  • This is one of my most favorite pieces by Mozart. They do a SUPERB JOB of playing it. Everything is in perfect balance. I greatly enjoyed listening. Thank you for posting.
