Oh and just a wayward question directed at anyone, is there yellow on the shirt?. I'm not talking about the collar, just the part that's colored blue. If not then I either need my eyes checked or the settings on my computer adjusted.

@Teatime4life I originally put some yellow on her shirt to show some varied colours in the lighting other than blue, buttttt the brightess of my screen is pretty bad, so on my computer I can barely see it and on other's it's like... striking... xD So it's really just a mistake on my part.

@Teatime4life Like oshaikeuchi basically said when light is reflected off of people's clothing or skin for that matter it often shows up as bright yellow and not pure white. So when illustrating/painting a character to show that light is reflecting off of them the designer/artist will go with a bright sometimes creme yellow to show that.

I think this might be the first speed of yours I've seen and it looks great! I think a see a little bit about what NerdyBannana was talking about. For me the girls right shoe sort of looks like it goes on the left foot, I'm not really sure why. :/ And the arm holding the wand has the inside of the arm facing the viewer(us), I personally find that difficult to draw no matter what. My favorite parts was the shading and the hair. I hope to do hair half as good as you.

What Deadithink said I disagree with completely. An emotionless work would show a character with a blank expression in a normal standing pose, blandish colors, ect.

In this the girl has a little spring to her stop with a cute surprised expression, and has quite a bit of movement even if the form does look a little stiff(but barely noticeable). Not to mention the exellent color really brings it to life.

But tbh, I wasn't really expecting a critique on this -- not because I think it's the most brilliant, amazing thing ever, but rather because of the exact opposite. I know this isn't my best work. It was a simple gift for a friend featuring her character. I wasn't trying to put any deep meaning into it, any elaborate background, or any particular "emotion". I thought people would be able to understand that just by looking at it.
