Nice job with your SPC. If you decide to build another panel cooker, I suggest that you make it a large one and I suggest that you try to build the Suntastic cooker. It's a great design. I appreciate your videos.
Thank you for your comments! I really appreciate them. I do have a much taller panel cooker I use in the winter around feb. It reaches about 225 in winter, but I haven't tried it in summer. You would be amazed how many ovens and cookers I have, LOL. I have thought about the suntastic, its on my list, :) Hubby keeps asking when I will have enough of these things, I told him, as long as you keep bringing me boxes, LOL.
That's a pretty small panel cooker, I doubt it can reach 300 degrees. I've built a Suntastic cooker that is about 19 inches tall and it reached 225 degrees. Although I didn't have a greenhouse enclosure, even if I did I the temps might just reach 300 degrees.
In the best situations, I have indeed gotten 300, when it was crystal clear out, no clouds, keep it refocused every 30 min, instead of an hour, a flatter shallower pan, less food in it and putting a black plate underneath the rack the pan sits on. When all the elements are there, even with this cooker, though it isn't all the time, I can indeed reach some amazing temps, especially also, when I add a more panels to the floor part where I cut the bottom flaps off.
my last rented house my landlord installed solar panels to heat the pool. the house im in now. i dont even use the ac. heat very little. stubbern landlord. now. yeah i want to get one of those cars that runs off water or solar power too. not a hybrid though. too many problems so far. when i buy my own place i might go solar power for the entire house with a back up generator. solar power just doesnt waste too much. and cuts down on most things.

It really does save on fuel bills, no heating up house, then running the ac to cool it back down. It's worth checking into.
