Thanks for your kind comments. The primary reason we shared the video on YouTube was to inspire acceptance, understanding and hope. You post means a lot to us. - John and Chris
Chris and John that was the MOST meaningful, kind, touching, honest and REAL wedding I have ever seen. Thank u for sharing, it makes me feel there is still hope for love whenever it is. God bless you and your children
@turkuaz3 Thank you for your comments. I agree that wherever there is love, there is hope. Wherever there is acceptance and a willingness to understand and appreciate our differences, there is a bright future for us all. - John and Chris
I have watched many gay weddings on you tube and yours brought me to tears. Its so nice that the world is changing to not judge gay people. Its wonderful that you had a room full of family and friends who joined you in your celebration. Wish you many yrs of joy. Oh and did you have a grandson or grandaughter? Sharon
@fulltmom1 Hi Sharon, Thank you for your kind words. We, too, are thrilled to see increasing social acceptance of the LGBT community. The vast majority of the 125 guests at our wedding were straight and most had never been to a gay wedding. BTW, my daughter had her 3rd child, a girl, three months after our wedding. Now we're grandparents times four. Best, John
@HalfofMyInnerme We both have maintained positive relationships with our ex-wives. Nonetheless, we imagined that it might feel a bit awkward having our "ex's" at our wedding. So, no, they were not there.
@steventhestudent Great question! I (John) was married for 16 years and Chris for 14 years. We lived and identifed as "straight" during that time, and it was several years after our divorces that we accepted ourselves as gay and met each other.
UPDATE: It's been a year since our wedding and nearly 8 years since we began our journey together. Our relationship is stronger than ever and our families are still very close and loving. So much to be thankful for, especially for the support we continually recieve from friends and family.
Absolutely beautiful. You make a very handsome couple and family. Couldn't help but shed a couple of tears (of joy) for you both. Very best wishes. Martin xx
OK! So... I couldn't stop crying/tearing up myself! I dream of getting married myself to a wonderful man! I have recently just met someone who has swept me of my feet! I hope that the LOVE that I saw in this video, will end up being the same for me with this someone that I have met! God bless you both! Keep loving each other no matter what life throws at you! Take care! Have fun too! :)
Thanks for the very kind comments. We are still happily married (together nearly 8 years now). Our relationship has certainly healed many of our own wounds and is a constant source a security and hope for us. I'm glad the video inspired you...that's exactly why we posted it. Best to you, John and Chris
