@Caleb0014 Caleb, the reason you see MKV GTIs with Xenon headlamps is due to the fact that they came from the factory with them as a standard option. With the new generation of MK6, they made it optional equipment and anyone who chose to go without it got stuck with the gay ass halogens. Just another reason I love my MKV. The headlights are so damn good for visibility at night. Never have I had the same kind of visibility when driving at night like I do in my MKV. Perfection.
I still think the MK4 body shape was nicer looking (more Euro) than the MK5 or 6. Especially models like the '337' and '20th A.E.' GTI's with the slight factory body kits. The MK4 R32 was also nicer looking than the MK5 or 6. My opinion.
Just commenting on the exterior, I like the look of the mk6 overall, but disagree that it looks better than the mk5, but maybe it will grow on me. I think the front and particularly the rear is better on the mk5. The rear lights look a bit boring on the new model and I think the Twin exhaust together on the mk5 looks more agressive. And to solve the problem of the bumper not being colour coded...get one in black.
Volkswagen always seems to amaze me. Great quality and I love the interiour. But I go for the new Megane RS not the quality of the GTI but I think more fun to drive.
i own a golf MKV gti i like my model more Interieur wise hmz but i like the new Front of the golf the rear is just not for me tough i still prefer the 5 altough they both have their style :-) also i don't like the rear exhaust they should of made it more like the R32 instead of putting them so far appart
vou comprar um e mandar trazer aqui para mim no Brasil ....um novo sonho de consumo ......isso não é um carro é uma maquina show parabéns Volks pela sua inovação ......
why are people comparing gti and r32 then saying with an ecu flash it will outrun it, its modified so no longer a standard gti modify an r32 .........
The back looks shitty. The proportion of glass v the bootlid just looks wrong. A little bit grannyish in my view. The front is the opposite. It looks nice and aggressive
you know what go fuck your self you german piece of rednex shit =)))) smile japanese cars top 7 from 1-7 ant first german is BMW and lies on 23 place, so go cry me a river hahahahha
Jap cars are well known for stealing European car designs. Just look around : Toyotas, Hondas, Mazdas, they all copy Europeans cars in a way to make they way through. For me , no matter how hard they try it , Asian cars look all the same
I think you are giving too much to the Jaspion and Pokemon world. In real life, Theres a automobile history of precision engeneering behind BMWs, VWs, Porsches, even Skodas, that set the standarts for car manufacturing. Have you ever heard of DRIVING DYNAMICS? Well it is something that Pokemon and Jaspions need to work on.

this is such a big nonsense my friend!!!!!!
i wonder how old are you and how come this happens,(probably you dont know that toyota still receives an amount of money for each car that volkswagen sells out! , and that bvecause of the renovations that japanese make sold to germans in the 80'ghties!!!) just to learn some history my man.. so dont tell that asians steal the design of europeans...
I have a MkV R32 and I think the Mk VI GTi looks beautiful. The issue is 'lack' of horse power. The market has moved on & circa 200 hp isnt enough to compete. My R32 with 250ish is no longer leagues ahead (although it sounds years ahead) and although the new 'R' will have the Audi S3 engine the GTi needs to be somewhere in between the R and where it currently is.
If I was a tuning company I would be rubbing my hands together as the new GTi will chip to around 250 for as little as £500/ $700.
The only advantage the r32 has is the handling b/c of AWD. There is barely any difference between the 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times between the 2 cars. For 400$-500$ a stock base price GTI with a ecu flash will produce more hp and outrun a stock r32 for 8k$ less. HP is not a issue.
I have a MK3 GTI VR6, had a MK4 R32, and I actually like the MK6. The rear looks like it comes from Audi's SUV platform. It might take people a little while to get used to it, but I think it works nicely. The body lines flow smothly, its like a MK5 smothed out more.
I have to disagree with you on the Mk6 having smoother lines than the Mk5. I feel they went more angular with the new one. I see it in the headlights, front grille, tail lights and fog lights. More straight lines I think and I believe that this is what the engineers were trying to achieve - a sort of Mk4/Mk5 style mix with more emphasis on the Mk5. I like the Mk6 all in all, and I bet it looks even better in person. Props on the R32, I had a Mk4 GTI VR6 so I've tasted VR power!
Yes, clearly you're more in touch with my feelings than I am. That's good, because it saves me the trouble of actually expressing how little I give a shit because you already know it. Thanks.
funny - most mentioned an "improved rear". The one thing I DON'T like about the MKVI is the rear. I have a MKV and think it is the only thing better than the upcoming model. Two reasons - taillights look like shite on the MKVI. They are too large horizontally and mimic the Tiguan too closely. Finally (and most importantly)...the exhaust. Golf = hidden turndowns. GTI = dual LL exit. R's = center exit. The dual L/R exit is too American looking for my tastes aka cheesy - still want though
Nope, sadly, not. The GTI is my dreamcar but it's relally expensive that's why it didn't sell very well and why they are so rare. I see way more BMW X6s on the streets than GTIs. Have you noticed that?
@karlamann I am a new driver and i have a Ford fiesta, very old when i say old i mean VERY old, im sick of driving around in a tin can on wheels i want a nicer car :)
I would never change my r32 mk5 for new golf and i think mk5 r32 is meybe last model of r32 becouse there is global crise and auto industry is going down but sure this vw looks nice i driven gti edition 30 that thing for that money taste nice people....
Currently I drive a MKV Rabbit, and when the lease ends in about a year, I'm highly considering the MKVI GTI, the Scirocco if it comes to the US, a BMW 1 series, or something else... As of now, it seems like I'll be sticking with VW again :)
