  • monsanto?!?!?......disneys evilness is now cemented and eternal!!! curse the mouse demon!!!

....my son and i shall be going next week.....

  • 1:09 I've been to disneyland mannnnyyyy times and i was wondering...... HOW THE FUCK DO YOU GET DOWN THERE!?!?!?!

  • @1:54 the Toad cars look as if they're near the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Sq.

  • I wish I could have seen the original Disneyland... Now it's mostly about merchandise rather than rides and fun....

  • What? They got rid of mr. toads ride?

  • @brmadman4455 not at disneyland,

  • Oh no it was rocket rods dunno where I got hydroplane from haha

  • @chickameow rocket rods and people mover used the same track :P

  • That was not the people mover track that was for the other ride they took out. I think it was called hydroplane or something like that. I only got to ride it a few times and it used to pass through inoventions

  • I wish they still had the peoplemover. :o(

  • Very VERY kewl video. Thanks a bunch! I've only been to Dland once (WDW four times) but it was a lot of fun.

-And this video was a lot of fun too! Many great little bits. I'm gonna check out the other vids right now.

-And great music. Nice and - hm - fifty-ish maybe?

  • @EP1KCAMPER why? ive never been there and im curious to know

  • @TheQueenOVMetal cause this person is a joyless basement dweller.

  • Walt was ingenious. Take the old stuff and work it in with the new. Lot of people may see it and smile because a memory was made there and a lot more people would see them in clips like these.

  • wtf? how did cat's nibbleing on dicks bring me here?

  • @xoSmilelovexo Your a sicko

  • PeopleMover was really good ride...

  • How did you figure all of that out!?! This is my fav out of the four. Thanks

  • Peoplemover and Rocketrods!

  • people mover track is visible in ALLOT of places... Like anywhere you go in tomorrowland...

  • PEOPLE MOVER U SHOULD STILL BE THERE WHERE ARE THOU!??!?!?! but seriously they still have the queue and tracks mine as well use them right?

  • and what about the old autotopia car that looks like a Corvet.

  • i thought the center dot was made of gold???

  • OK, Disneyland does not remove rides because of accidents. The remove them because times change and the public's expectations change. Disneyland was meant to be ever changing, never completed. While the people mover was cool, would it be as cool to today's guests? I happen to like the changes that they have made over the years, but I wish they still had the motorboats. I always loved those as a kid. Natures wonderland was before my time.

  • @nosajj12345 Mr. Toad's ride is still there and they probably would never remove it because its part of the original 15 rides that were there since the beginning out of the 18 they started with. I doubt anyone can die in that ride unless its a heart condition or something like that

  • i looked up people mover and i think the reason they were closed were because of two deaths on the ride because some teenagers attempted to jump from cart to cart just because the ride went at 2 miles per hour

  • that sucks that disneyland only took some rides off cause of deaths i think

  • @JaviR101 you made me think too...

Of course, past ten years they wull remove The Haunted Mansion and name it Lonesome Manor... Or the Pirates of the Carribean, and name it The Caribbean Jail Adventure...

  • LOVE the terrible elevator music...

  • Was the peoplemover closed because of the deaths on that ride. Or was not enough people riding it to make a profit?

  • Way to go Disney! Keep up the "reduce, reuse, recycle!" business! :) I love how they keep this stuff - what wonderful memorobilia.

  • Did they do away with Mr. Toads Wild Ride??

    Anybody know?

I'm talking about the only Disneyland that matters, the one in Anaheim, of course.

    Anybody??

  • @nosajj12345 Last time I went, it was still there, but that was probably a year ago... Did you hear something about them taking it away?... I like that ride...

  • @nosajj12345 Don't worry, it's still there. The picture was just an old car.

  • They worked HARD to hide & destroy the truly modern stuff from the old 'future'. The 'new' future.. it looks VERY post-modern.. old fashioned tacky & garish.

  • With the addition of Toon Town the spike at the castle became null, it no longer marks the center of the park. Also, the skull in the headboard was not the real bones, but the skeleton driving the run-aground ship. That was cast and replaced with a fake skeleton model years ago, though, there are no longer any real human remains officially on the ride. Also, the old people mover track hosted another ride for a veeeeery short time. I forget the name, though. (Yay cast member knowledge!)

  • i understand the need to keep current with the rides and stuff but i really miss them. Rodger Rabbit, People Mover, and The bears jamboree thing. :(

  • @princessshanna The Rivers of America wasn't taken away but 2 people have drowned in it and 2 people were killed on the people mover.

  • I love how Captain Eo is back. The last time I went there, it was still Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. I missed Captain Eo by two weeks.

  • And also the "golden spike" isn't the real thing anymore. That was there for a long time before some of the lands were built.

  • All of the Skulls in the pirates of the carribean are real. They were donated form UCLA medical center preveiosly used for research.

  • why did they close the people mover?

  • Those were the tracks for the short lived Rocket Rods (post PeopleMover)

  • @W00tPwnr I find tht a little creepy

  • Never let it be said that Disney is wasteful; they are the masters of creative recycling!

  • Another interesing thing is that in the original pirates ride, all of the skulls were real, however only one real skull still exists, the one shown in the video

  • i loved the monsanto ride....you would sit in your seat...and the room would turn....

  • how sickening to see our beloved attractions discarded and ride vehicles parted out for use as retail merchandise displays. what kind of imagineering is that?? iinoventions is a waste of space, and the peoplemover should have never been replaced with that overhyped rocket duds. the astro orbiter is hardly a replacement for the thrill of soaring more than 50 feet over tomorrowland in the rocket jets. the motor boat cruise was at least a gentle ride families could enjoy. "new" tomorrowland sucks!

  • its not a brass dot.. its a solid gold spike. =)

  • On my Recent trip there I noticed that a shelf had a lever

  • I love these videos!!!

It's so weird I was only about 2 years old when I rode the boats mentioned in this video but I actually still remember them vividly! I miss the people movers :,(

  • I was at Dizeyland shortly after it opened originally. Hope I can go again before I die

  • Funny that they took out the people mover. It's cousin at WDW, the TTA, is still going strong.

  • @jtkirkfan2002 The TTA at Disney World now has "Peoplemover" as its major name. They even put new signs! I am reaaly sorry that Disneyland had to lose the Peoplemover and Rocket Rods. Peoplemover is the best way to preview the land, so I might feel lost at Disneyland's Tomorrowland... :'(

  • The dot is a survey marker. The geo center of the original Disneyland was right where the Partners statue is sitting.

  • Thanks --- nice work (and memories) for us old-timers !

  • Rocket rods was such a damn good ride

  • @Ranceman13 There is a video on youtube that has the Rocket Rod history, ride and why it closed. IF THEY HAD ONLY TAKEN AN EFFORT TO BANK THE TURNS ON THE TRACK, IT WOULD STILL BE AROUND!!! >:( They should refurb it and get it back up and running again. I have the perfect idea for a new title for it, but unfortunately Disney won't allow people to submit ideas. I am going to be a WDI when I get older, but I'm bursting with ideas I can't bear to wait to put in action. ESPECIALLY ROCKET RODS IDEA!

  • Disneyland is so cool! They have most of the old rides and stuff on a website called "yesterland".

  • @Mgdisney15 There is a website called "Walt Dated World" with the old rides and resort areas from Disney World.

  • i dont understand y people mover is sooooo popular in wdw and not disneyland...it is the greatest (and most relaxing) ride ever! great to get out of rain or to relax from walking

  • @WDWtony some people have died on the people mover i guess thats why they took it off. but i guess now its like the monorail.

  • @FierceSandy but how can people die on such a slow moving ride? i know the monorail is on a seperate track all together.

  • @WDWtony i know right?

i found it on this website called snopes.com/disney/parks/deaths.asp

  • @FierceSandy ...so i went on that site, and, most of the deaths were bc of stupid of the guests. Why would they jump car to car while train was moving, and with that said that ride goes like 7MPH so how did they die? the monorail death was also bc the teen jumped the fance onto the track and the train hit him, again not disney's fault....but thanks for that site never heard of it till now.

I still dont know how people can be so stupid on rides....

  • @WDWtony i know some people should listen. the host's on the rides don't say it to bore us their acutally trying to save our lives.

your welcome i havent even heard of it since 2 days ago. lol

  • @WDWtony at Disneyland, the covers were on the cars. There are solid roofs over the WDW Peoplemover, which now transports you to a new universe momentarily (Space Mountain!). Click on "The History of the Rocket Rods" next to this video (peoplemover at Disneyland changed to rocket rods) and you'll see why there is nothing up there today. NHGRRHG WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST BANK THE TRACK!?!

  • the brass dot stands for the center of disneyland

  • This video rocks! I love the clues and hints to old Disneyland stuff! I't so cool that Disneyland didn't throw the old stuff away but are recycling it and reusing it all!!!

  • rocket rods was let go because the track design didn't fit the high-speed cars, they would have to slow down before each turn because the track wasn't banked to support speed. i wonder what they're planning on doing with the track now, it's been a good while.

  • well obviously disney lets nothing go to waste

  • The People Mover became Rocket Rods, which was an awesome ride. But Nearly 1-2 years after Rocket Rods was put in, it was removed. Many rumors started, the most common being the tires for RR had to be replaced too often and became too costly and the other being someone had died on the ride. Plans for a new PM ride have been rumored for years and yet the track still sits there with no work done to it whatsoever.

  • i swear if disney makes any more pixar themes rides ima go ape shit...

  • where is the old motor boat cruise dock?

  • @UcancallmeKK Near the Submarine Voyage and practically across from the Matterhorn Bobsleds entrance.

  • @UcancallmeKK it is now a seating area for village haus

  • where is the old motor boat cruise dock?

  • the old peoples track was called the ride of the future

  • GR8 VID

  • they are going to reuse that People Mover track again after they finish building California Adventure new trolley system that goes throughout the park... TomorrowLand kinda bites now, Star Tours takes about 5 minutes to race up to the cars, theres no interest and with People Mover / Rocket Rods gone, its a very quiet place now. (aside from Space Mountain)

the Buzz Lightyear shoot-em-up ride is pretty cool (I scored 27500 i think!!) i heard the one in California Adventure is better.

  • They are bringing a test track inspired attraction, but in the form a cars themed ride and it will be in the exspansion of california adventures

  • weegeedisciplemaster is a bold faced liar! I was there yesterday and the people mover is NOT back up! i repeat, NOT back up! Go see for yourself. Plans ARE IN THE WORKS to bring back a much improved "people mover" but nothing yet. Dont believe me, go to D-Land and check it out for yourself

  • @ClipperQuik42 it is closed due to space mountain's refurshimbet

  • No sorry you might also b thinking bout Transit Authority. Tomorrowland Transit Authority takes Guests for an elevated tour of Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom theme park.10-minute journey above the Tomorrowland area. The tour introduces you to Tomorrowland attractions and and Space Mountain. The Tomorrowland Transit Authority station is located in the center of Rockettower Plaza beneath the Astro Orbiter attraction. people movers have been retired in all parks.its not on the list of rides online.

  • @gorillagetsbigger okay. i thought it was the ppl mover. thanks for the info. :( still sad it is gone

  • hidden mickey 144 i dare u to find it :P

  • The people mover......

there are rumors that it will be back

    Either the people mover or.....

The Test Track from Walt Disney world

  • i think it's the Test Track except i think its going to be cars themed

  • Another rumor states its going to be incredibles themed, im not a big fan of cars any way

  • Let me tell you something. The people mover was replaced with the rocket rods which used the same track. But plans for a new ride or to bring back the people mover is not true. The chances of them changing they're mind is 1 in 50. Not that small of a chance or too big. So let's just hope for a Test Track. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

  • people mover IS back just the other day i rode it but it went over so MAJOR UPGRADES!

  • REALLY :D

  • yes this time it goes THREW the buzz lightyear ride, space mountain, and the gift shop

  • they actually dont have the people movers. you might be thinking of the monorail that takes you over to downtown disney and the parking lot. well i think it takes you to the paking lot. not completely sure. but no unfortunatley they do not have the attraction because poeple movers went over only some of tomorrow land.

  • NO i was just at walt disney world the other day AND IT WAS NOT THE MONIRAIL it was at tommorow land it said it was people mover! it has a larger track now mr.gorilla

  • @weegeedisciplemaster are you crazt?

  • irct3 i am not crazy ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID! THEY FUCKIN HAVE IT IN WALT DISNEY WORLD (not sure about disneyland)BUT THEY FUCKIN HAVE IT

  • calm down... your talking about the people mover

  • @weegeedisciplemaster Your a nut bar, you should prolly hang yourself in the closet.

  • OMG! its true i went yesterday and the rocket shelves have the levers that make you go up and down.

  • This is great for someone like me that is younger,I can learn some history of disney.

  • I miss the old days. Lived in Ca from 1974 to 1980. Everything was good those days, grandparents alive, friends around, no worries. :(

    Thank you for posting.

  • Werlecar you sound so sad cheer up you will have good times again

  • I miss the old days too. It's not the same after grandparents are gone, and now Disneyland has gone and changed everything :(

CA in the 1970s was a great time to be a kid.

  • And it was a lot cheaper- prices were just raised, $79 for a single day ticket! Remember the E-ticket coupon books. There's a amusement park in Denver that still holds on to the old ways, Lakeside! Elitch's used to be nice with gardens to walk around, you could bring your own food, now it's moved and its a big concrete park/six flags.

  • hehehe it is funny how disney so called " recycles" its old stuff, aslo, the ppl mover tracks, when i was like five, 2003, i was visiting calif. and was wondering, why is there no ride coming out and about, but tracks on that building.

  • You know what disney should do, instead of throwing away the old stuff, they should make a land called the pastland with all the old rides and nature land and that would be awesome but due to expensives and money, they wouldn't be able to run it. I wish i was alive in those days to see all the cool things they use to have, I REALLY want to see natures wonderland but its closed... SO SAD!!!!!!!!!!

  • i completely agree with you

  • @samnthafaithshaylin ever heard of the game Epic Mickey?

  • @fredfredfredburger44 i have i wish oswald was there as wellcas mickey

  • @samnthafaithshaylin also, they might not bring them back because some people have actually died on some of the rides.. or at least the America Sings ride i know

  • @samnthafaithshaylin i understand it would b expensive but it would bring so much tourist! and money!

  • @samnthafaithshaylin a museum would be nice yes?

  • @samnthafaithshaylin heck turn DLC into "DL Pastland" i would go to it and so would alot of the older generation to relive their childhoods.

  • Amazing stuff!

  • nice to know Disneyland recycles

  • The people mover was changed to Rocket Rods, which was a major hit, but it was costing the park to much on tires for all of the cars because of all the speeding up and braking the cars did each day. I miss that ride. I even miss the people mover. That track has been sitting there empty for a very long time. I hope they renew it with something else soon.

  • i loved rocket rods!

  • I looked everyware for that brass dot and i can not find it ? they might have coverd it up.

  • it's part of a production library

  • This one too, what song is this too?

  • I love these videos. Thanks for the time you spent making them! :)

  • ty for posting these heka informal videos

  • I've always wondered what that big track was used for above Autopia..now I know.Thanks!^.^

  • Bleh, so much space Disney is taking and wasting.

  • It's cool that they "recycle" old rides.

  • i hear they might re-open the people mover. is this a possibility?

  • Man I hate the Disney Corporation. Ever since walt died, they never once thought about, what Walt would have thought of the changes they made. 1st of all Finding Nemo submarines are stupid Cold War Nuclear Subs are Cool and deadly. Tarzan treehouse, based on the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, unorigonal and stupid. Finally Pirate island, no no no! It's Tom Sawyers island, the place for cutthroats and bandits, where children are kings and society falls apart. Not a freakin way to sell stuff!!!

  • Dont forget:

In finding nemo subs, The sea serpant and mermaids are inplanted in stone at the end.

    in star tours the G2 droids are the original skeletons of the geese in america sings. U will know becuz they sing the same song;

"I'v been workin on the railroad"

In star tours the commets that you see greatly resemble the "Inner space" Snow flakes when you first see them.

the original rocket to the moon ride is gone, but the rocket emblem still remains outside of pizzaport

  • Not to mention there's an old Eeyore section sign from the Disneyland parking lot located somewhere in the Indiana Jones ride,at least that's what I seem to know.

  • yep, it's on part 1.

  • At least there's something Walt can be proud of during the 2000s. I'm sure he would never allow HSM to get as much attention as there getting today. (P.S. I stood on the center of Disneyland! even after my sister and her friend tried to push me off so they could stand there)

  • Great job on these.

  • in autopia, there is also a car from the midget autopia that once ran in Fantasyland (I think it was Fantasyland)

  • oops, i put this comment up before i saw it! sorry!

  • wrong the medal is not there anymore. They decided to put that outside of the park where both parks are middle

  • It was still there as of June 2008.

  • ROFLZOMGWTFOMGAWSH a dot.

  • ummmm.... if this is a movie aobut rides past why do u talk about the mr. tod car? just a questeion...

gr8 video thogh keep up the great work

  • The Tomorrowland track is part of Rocket Rods, which replaced PM in 1998. That ride's track is still left to rot.

  • SWEET!!! thanx soo much! its so incredible my parents nor myself never knew. :DDD

  • awesome incredible!

  • Great videos, love the music . What is the Music?

  • Wow Ive been looking for that gold dot, its supposed to mark the center of dineyland, and now i know where it is! thanks!

  • i thought it was a penny the first time i saw it and now i know what its for!!

  • To put in some new info to the Innoventions part. Right now the bottom of it is closed since they are going to remake the House of Tomorrow, just with literal future items since the old one had Microwaves and Cellphones as something from the year 2029.

  • The Tomorrowland store is called "Little Green Men Store Command", not the little green army men.

  • The Skull in Pirates IS NOT real. The story actually is based on the fact that when the attraction first opened real skeletons were used in the first of the ride. These were quickly replaced once Imagineers could figure out how to create real looking skeletons.

  • people mover is still run today as 2007 at magic kingdom

  • Both People Mover ride posters (2nd one was for Superspeed Tunnel) and others are in Redd Rocket's. Autopia also uses People Mover music in the queue.

  • Great series these, but that brass survey point is not the geographic center of old or new Disneyland. It actually marks the center-line of main street when joined to a similar survey point that exists in the Town Square end of Main Street. The actual center point of old Disneyland (if taken from the original layout of the Railroad) would be about where the Partner's Statue sits in the Hub.

I'm looking forward to episode III of this.

    ^_^

  • The music goes very well too!

    Thanks!

  • i love this video sooooo much

  • omg ive been waiting for this for ever i love these videos
